Half a Lindo's Breakfast. (I forgot yo take a picture before I dug in)
    Jacquelyn T.

We haven't eaten here for some time, life is busy! Had breakfast this morning and it did not disappoint. I had the Lindo's breakfast, home fries covered in country gravy and topped with eggs scrambled with ham. My husband had the homemade corned beef hash with eggs. We both liked our meals and wondered why we hadn't been here in so long.

Breakfast quesadilla, Chile Verde Fries, French Toast and my nephews smile which speaks for itself lol

Had to try this location since I had a great experience at their other location. Didn't disappoint. The food was amazing and the employees were very friendly. We tried the green chili fries which were really good. The French toast plate which was delicious and the breakfast quesadilla that was very tasty and filling. This place is becoming my favorite local restaurant and I tell everyone that they should try their food. Parking is not a problem and the restaurant is very clean.

    Nice clean place.

The staff here is very friendly. I ordered an iced tea ($4) and looked at the menu. I'd heard there were new senior specials added recently, I did see those but they were still over $15 per plate. The regular meals are $17-$20 each. I hear the food is good, and they serve hearty portions, but I took my tea to go. If you're in the mood for lots of food and a drink, it'll cost you $25 minimum. I just don't know who affords to eat out anymore. I wish this cute establishment luck. I know being in business is tough right now and I'm sorry about that. I went home with my $4 iced tea and made a turkey sandwich and saved myself over $20.

We love this place! We've came here many times to eat in the last for sure at least 10 years. The people who own this place are always happy and full of smiles. The customers all seem happy too. The food is all good! I've never gotten anything there that I didn't like. The ambience is a good home feeling. Nice clean, small diner. You can call in your orders too if you want to take out. Here's a picture of my veggie sandwich and fried zucchini and my hubby's patty melt and onion rings takeout. Yummy!

Food was tasty. Service was awesome. We had the chicken fried steak, chilaquelles and vegetable egg white omelet. We also tried the pumpkin pancake which was amazing!!!! Our server was super sweet and she came Often to make sure we had refills and whatever we needed. We will be back!

What a great little place. I hade the corn beef hash and eggs. Both were tasty and service was great. I'll come back soon.

Did steak and burger close or just change names?

No it's still Steak n Burger. They just rebranded and changed the name to hopefully spur more interest. I spoke to Rodrigo, the son, couple days ago and he explained it to me.

The fries where piping hot and crispy. The fries were actually really good.. They had a nice coating and crisp to them.. I also had an ice tea (brewed ice tea) and it was refreshing for a hot day.. I stood inside for 4-5 minutes without seeing anyone that worked there. So I went to the side of the kitchen where there was a door and saw someone in there. I peaked inside and said hello, and this female staff member lost her marbles and basically said how unacceptable it was that I did that and basically chased me out of the restaurant. I only did that because we had my 83 year old handicap grandfather and our small dog with us on a hot day so I was hoping to just get some water for both of them. Instead she continued to have the worst attitude I ever experienced from a restaurant staff member. To the owners, I highly recommend you watch tape of her attitude towards me, and watch my poor grandfather have to hobble out of your establishment due to your terrible employee. She claimed to be the only one working so it should be easy to figure out who she is, she didn't have a name tag on. She should be fired. We were there today, which is 6-1-26 at 11:40am if you have any aspiration to better your business, I encourage you to watch camera footage of her terrible attitude towards your customers. We'll never be back but you should honestly fire her.

The only reason it caught my eye was because our tax preparer was just down the street. It was obviously well loved by the locals after reading their great reviews and seeing a full parking lot. And this was on a Wednesday. We only had time for a quick bite, ordering nothing out of the ordinary. A quickie breakfast of sausage, scrambled eggs, and pancake, were all we had, but everything was nicely done. The pancake was big, light and airy, served with a carafe of warm syrup and a huge scoop of butter. The scrambled eggs were moist and fluffy, the sausage was basically a Farmer John sausage patty that was properly warmed but not overcooked, and very good tasting. My only criticism was the coffee being too thin for my liking, but keeping our coffee mugs filled was something they definitely did well! The service was wonderful. They knew we were in a rush, and handled us with TLC the entire 35 minutes we had. What I do know is, I will be looking forward to our next tax appointment, hah, knowing our morning will start off right here. Next time...chicken fried steak, or maybe a bowl of hearty homemade soup, y'all!

The options in the buffet were sweet potatoes, zucchini, asparagus, mashed potatoes, chicken fettuccine alfredo, bacon brussel sprouts and a cut of steak. All of the items except for the steak were delicious. Everything was well seasoned. My favorites were between the mashed potatoes, fettuccine alfredo or the bacon brussel sprouts. The steak was dry and needed a lot of sauce. It was tender but dry at the same time. I wouldn't recommend ordering that. Everything else was good. We were also served dessert. There were two options: creme brulee and cherry pie. Both were absolutely delicious and weren't too sweet either which is what I enjoyed! Service was excellent. Our servers were attentive and cleared plates out of our way. The restaurant has plenty of seating and has an old ranch vibe to it. A lot of wooden interior. We started with the appetizer sampler--wings, cheese curds, loaded potato skins, and stuffed jalapeño shrimp--all great for sharing and very well done. For entrées, the rib sandwich with onion rings and the smashed burger with fries were both outstanding. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and generously portioned, with the rib sandwich being especially memorable and something I'd definitely order again. SERVICE: Service was generally solid, though one drink server stood out for being noticeably unfriendly and not acknowledging us when spoken to or thanked. It was a small moment, but it contrasted with the otherwise pleasant staff. VALUE: Overall, the quality and portion sizes make it a good sit-down value. The only drawback was the $0.50 ranch charge--not about the cost, but the principle. When a meal for two is already around $90, itemizing something as small as ranch feels unnecessary and slightly detracts from the value perception. ATMOSPHERE: The dining area we were seated in had a couple of minor issues. The lighting was quite dim with some glare from overhead fixtures, making it a bit uncomfortable at times. It was also warmer than ideal during our meal, to the point that other guests commented on it, though the temperature improved once the air conditioning was adjusted. OVERALL IMPRESSION: Despite a few small issues, Hickory Ranch remains a consistent favorite. The food is the standout and the main reason we'll continue coming back.
