Oranges and Cream cocktail, and the Astral Plane

This is such a great place for date night or just to hang out. We had amazing food like truffle cheese fries, potato tacos, and steak and frites. It came out perfectly and was worth the price. Our server was lovely and attentive. I made a reservation, which I had no problem getting, and it was starting to clear out when we got there but it was almost 8 o'clock on a Wednesday. The cocktails varied which I really appreciated. Some places seem to only want to do tequila or vodka, but they have something for everyone. The decor was great, we loved the disco ball and all the lighting. The music was fantastic the whole time. I don't really understand reviews saying it was loud or crowded. It's a small place and they're advertising music so that's what you should expect. Can't wait to be back.

Damn another great experience! If 3 or more visits makes you a regular I think we hit that. And yet another awesome experience. Brought my daughter and her friend on her spring break. Food was once again delicious but those noodles were exceptional. Drinks as always were on point. Tuesdays is Happy Hour all day. Service was outstanding and the vibe was perfect. See you next time we come.

Chicken Wings, Elote Popcorn, Beets by Nay, and Deviled Eggs. All super tasty!

If Redlands had an underground bar alter ego, it would be The Overland Bar. Artsy, moody, vinyl-lined shelves, DJ booth tucked into the corner -- this place understands style. The drinks came out in no time. An extra dirty martini for him, the Dear Eleanor mocktail for her (Dry January...obvi)...easily one of the best mocktails I've had in a long time. I finished it wishing I'd ordered multiples. And the food? Small plates, big flavor! The Deviled Eggs were quite literally mouthwatering, Beets by Nay...super yum, the crunchy and extra tasty Chicken Wings were finger-licking good, and the crunchy Elote Popcorn was perfect bar food. Easy to share, easy to love. Come for the vibes, good dranks, great service, and good foooooood!

The Overland truly hits the spot after work. The music, strong drinks, and tasty fries always put me in a good mood. They offer an ever changing menu of food and drinks. While I have enjoyed all of their cocktails, the food quality can be inconsistent. The ingredients are clearly high quality, but the flavors do not always come together. I have tried several of their rotating salads and seafood dishes, and the fish tends to lean toward stronger, slightly musty flavors. The greens are fresh, but the vinaigrette is overly acidic and lacks balance from oil or spices. The Brussels sprouts shared a similar fate, being rather bland besides a light coating of balsamic vinegar. The burger was taller than it was wide and tasted like a fairly standard offering, though I was amused by the oversized piece of lettuce. The fries, however, were outstanding. They were golden brown with a fluffy interior and coated in Indian spices. The curry ketchup elevated them even further. The drinks are served in tall glasses and are quite potent. Each cocktail packs a punch, and I especially enjoy their house specials, which bring noticeable spice, heat, and bite. The flavors are more unique than those of a typical mule or margarita. I enjoy stopping by The Overland for its excellent drinks and fries, even though ordering other entrees can be a bit of a gamble.

Very cool bar and restaurant in downtown Redlands. It's the old train station renovated into a bar. The inside is limited seating at tables with a full bar, but they have additional seating outside and drink rails (standing only). The staff were friendly and attentive. The onion rings were freshly made and they were decent. The drinks were delicious! Overall good experience

Everytime I'm in the Redlands I come here! The Ghost Ship cocktail is SO GOOD!! These guys are at the top of their game. Very innovative and excellent cocktails! Highly recommend!

Absolutely love this place! Since it opened i have been quite a few times. Ghostship is my absolutely favorite. Service is friendly and laid back. Cool ambience inside. Patio outside is also pretty nice with a view of the Redlands station. Parking can be challenging but there is a small parking lot behind the place along with some street parking. Doesn't matter because I love this place!

I went to The Overland for dinner and drinks because it's decorated for Christmas time !! Upon entering , it literally looks like someone threw up Christmas all over and I loved it !! So many lights and decor that ranges from something you'd find at Target to something that reminds you of your grandmas house when you were a kid . Service was friendly and fast ! We ordered the wings (my fav) - they were crispy and delicious ! Also the steak and frites which was perfectly cooked and the shrimp banh mi (a little too much bread for me) but flavor was nice and light ! They currently have Christmas cocktails so of course we had to try those ! We had Santa's cookie and milk , scrooges cider and the grinch's demise . Loved all of them - they know what they are doing with cocktails here . Overall it was a cute date night spot , the middle seating is just a bit of an eye sore as it makes the room feel small. If they took those booths out it would really open it up ! I'll definitely be back for a night out listening to vinyl records !

I love going to the overland whenever I can, ambience is always amazing and I like the calm music. The drinks never disappoint and I tried the tacos for the first time and I would really recommend the salmon one!

10/10 $8 old fashioneds with CLEAR ice cubes! Came here with two friends because one wanted to try their Christmas pop-up. The place is very festive, but I'm spoiled by all the Christmas pop-ups in San Diego that really go all-out and crush their themed cocktails. I didn't enjoy any of the Christmas cocktails here, and I wouldn't recommend the one with the maple "foam", it was pretty inedible. I do recommend the old fashioned, of course (obviously).Everyone working was lovely, and I had no idea downtown Redlands was this cool

was a Friday night, and we were looking for a nice spot to enjoy a drink or two with dinner. I made a reservation and received a confirmation, but upon arrival, we learned the reservation system wasn't working. Thankfully, the staff was accommodating -- we were initially seated outside, but after requesting indoor seating, they kindly found us a spot at the bar. Once we got to the bar, everything went smoothly. The bartender and staff were attentive, and service was quick. We started off with wine, deviled eggs, and the beet salad. The deviled eggs were decent -- nothing standout, and probably not something I'd order again -- but the beet salad was absolutely amazing! For entrées, we ordered the wedge salad and the steak frites. The fries were excellent, crisp and flavorful, and the wedge salad was fresh and well-balanced. The steak was tender and came with a garlic-style dipping sauce that added a nice touch. We wrapped up the evening with an espresso martini, which was the perfect finish. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. The music added a great vibe, and the atmosphere felt relaxed yet lively. We'll definitely be back to explore more of the drink, entrée, and appetizer menu!

Nice Tuesday night dinner with my husband after a long day of work. Our first time here. The outside looks like a historic building. I really like that it's small and cozy. The interior has a nice vibe with cool jazzy and r&b music. The lighting was just right as you would expect from a cool bar and the disco ball was a nice touch. I really like the huge selection of records on the back wall behind the bar and DJ. The service was excellent. They were very helpful in answering questions with the menu and they came by several times to check on our order. I also requested that my espresso martini be not too strong and it came out perfect. It had salted caramel flavor and cocoa so yummy! The steak was medium rare as ordered and it had a nice outer crust and well seasoned. The risotto was made with pearled farro so very healthy but also very tasty with lots of shrimp. But my favorite of the 3 dishes we ordered would have to be the house burger. It is simply melt in your mouth delicious with juicy grass fed beef, soft brioche buns, buttered lettuce, juicy riped tomatoes, & melted sharp cheddar in a light secret sauce. Overall a very nice setting with delicious food and drinks for a nice evening out.

Ask the Community - The Overland

Is this a family-friendly place, or is it 21+?

You can bring younger people but I would not recommend it. The atmosphere seemed to be geared toward 20-30yr olds. Bar scene, loud music with some small bites food.

Reservation can only be made for 4 people, is this the norm? no seating for 5 or 6?

There is seating for larger groups especially on the patio (covered and outdoors). But the insider is narrow so I think that's why reservations are for smaller groups only

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! My wife's cocktail was also top notch. She ordered the risotto and that was another win--well executed and clearly something the kitchen has dialed in. My entrée (the mussels with chorizo and fennel) was the miss. It came out very salty, and I couldn't really detect the fennel that was listed on the menu. To their credit, they comped a beer, which was appreciated. Service was friendly. One small but real comfort note: there was an exposed bulb on a shelf at eye level that made our table uncomfortable enough that i had to move my seat to not have it in my eyes the entire evening. Probably an easy fix, but worth mentioning. Overall, there are some genuinely strong dishes here, and enough went right that we'll be back--just hoping for a bit more consistency across the board.

Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time.
