This week I got to the market early so I could talk to the staff about the daily options. They had a wonderful selection of fresh breads, cookies, granola, croissants and more. The clerks are friendly and helpful. I picked up several croissants that were absolute eye candy. These croissants easily rival those I've had in France. My family spilts them, so we can taste each. The ham and cheese savory croissant was buttery and delicious. The croissant melted in my mouth. My favorite was the cherry and pistachio croissant. The cherries were fresh and tart. The edges were perfectly caramelized. The raspberry croissants were huge and a hit with my granddaughters. The ingredients taste high quality. The line is long and check-out is a bit slow. But the clerks make an effort to connect with each guest. You've got to get there early for the best selection. I can't think of a better breakfast on a beautiful morning.

Every visit…read morefeels like a small adventure, thanks to the massive selection of freshly made baked goods lining the shelves. There's always an impressive variety of breads, cakes, cookies, empanadas, and more--enough to make it impossible to leave with just one item. The coolers are equally tempting, stocked with classics like rice pudding, tres leches cake, and flan. And then there are the hot tamales--fresh, comforting, and hands down my favorite item in the entire place. They're worth the trip alone. The setup is simple and old-school: grab a tray, pick up a pair of tongs, and help yourself as you make your way around the shop. It's casual, efficient, and part of what makes the experience feel so authentic. One thing to know before you go--English isn't always spoken, so bringing your abuela along or having a translator phone app handy is helpful. That said, the quality and authenticity of the food make any language barrier completely worth navigating. Lately, their corn muffins have become my new obsession--moist, flavorful, and impossible to resist. Mama Ines delivers the kind of baked goods that feel homemade, generous, and deeply rooted in tradition. If you're looking for authentic bakery treats and aren't afraid to step a little outside your comfort zone, this place is an absolute must.

There are two entrances to the office park; one is the main entrance off of 22nd Street and the 2nd entrance off of Woolco Lane. Cies Bakery is located in Building 7 which faces Woolco Lane. They are open Tuesday through Friday 11:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturday 11:00 - 4:00 and closed Sunday and Monday. As I entered the suite 3 very personable ladies were chatting inside. I appreciated Cies taking the initiative to introduce herself, her Mother and Business Manager plus a close friend. They proceeded to share the various products offered, you can phone in orders ahead plus custom orders are available. I even left my name and phone number so I could be notified when they have lemon cake. The treats are located on several folding tables with an industrial beverage fridge for cheesecakes and other items requiring refrigeration. I don't know if the tables are temporary (bakery cases ordered or possibly getting a feel for amount of business??) but it works. I arrived after 3:00 so a large selection of baked goods had sold. I purchased pecan toffee cookies (3 for $5), two chocolate on chocolate cupcakes with buttercream filling ($3) and a slice of strawberry cheesecake ($5). Brownies, peach cobbler, popcorn mix, caramel apples, sweet potato pie and several other treats were still available. The Pecan Toffee Cookies had a good flavor, were chewy, sweet and tender. The small amount of icing I sampled on the Chocolate Cupcakes had a rich chocolate flavor. I'll have to wait for feedback on the cupcakes and cheesecake since they were purchased for the family. The cookies, cheesecake and cupcakes were in nice plastic containers but the carryout plastic bags let the desserts flip upside down and were a mess when I got home. A small box or sturdy container would improve the loose plastic bag situation. I am looking forward to trying other treats, especially the lemon cake. Get there early for the best selection.

My boyfriend and I came on Mother's day (unintentionally) and we waited about 10-15 minutes to sit at the bar. Getting our orders taken & our food served definitely took a bit of time, but we enjoyed seeing all the cooks in action and getting to smell all the amazing smells!! I got Grandpa's one pan skillet and my boyfriend got the sausage breakfast sandwich on croissant bread. All I gotta say is those chefs definitely knew what they were doing! The flavors were unique and intentional and I enjoyed every bite. The home fries (potatoes) were also so yummy and everything was cooked really well. There's nothing basic about borage and I love that! This place is a gem. They also have a cafe/market area where you can order drinks and pastries. I wish we waited until we got seated to order drinks because the menu was much more extensive than what I saw in the cafe and I would have ordered a different drink had I seen all the other options. The staff here are also very welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed our little brunch and will be back with family next time!
