Neighborhood bakery serving up delicious donuts and pastries. It's simple and old-schooll They focus more on making great baked goods rathee than anything fancy. The only real drawback is that it's cash only. Their glazed donuts are some of the best I've ever had--light, fluffy, and sweet. The apple fritters are just as good, big, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and packed with apple flavor. Both are good with a nice cold glass of milk or even just a cup of ice water.

Still the best donuts I've ever had and I've had a lot. Service is never friendly and sometimes can even be rude, but if you get past that, you can't beat these donuts. No fuss old school bakery, cash only, in and out, street parking and good donuts. That's it.

What a fantastic bakery. It smelled amazing in there and they were moving pretty fast. This place was busy and had everything you could ever want in a bakery. Cookies, cakes, mini pies , danishes, donuts, coffee and so much more. I was a happy camper there. I got a variety of stuff in 2's. 2 Cinniafry bread 2 pumpkin spice cake donut 2 raspberry cheese danish Everything was fabulous. My favorite would probably be the Danish!!! I would come back here when in the area!

First timer here as I just moved to Indy. Went at 8 pm and so I was fearful the donuts would be stale. Boy was I wrong, they were delicious. I asked the young Man working whats his favorite and told me blueberry cake so I got that and a cinnamon fry. So so so so good. The blueberry cake was so light and moist. It was perfection. The cinnamon fry had a bit too much icing for me but was good. I put it in the toaster oven the next day and scraped some icing off and it was so good. I will definitely make this a once every month treat.

Can't miss with the cinnamon twist and the original yeast donuts. City classic!

The best donut place in the world. This is a city classic. Cinnamon twist and original yeast.....can't go wrong.

I had to sample a few right away!

You can expect to have a line here, but it gives you time to look at the many baked items, donuts, and danish that you have to choose from. The prices are amazingly cheap. We got over a dozen items, including a danish, brownie and an assortment of donuts and it was under $15. There's no dining space here. You just go through the line, order what you want, pay with cash and head out the exit.

This place is outstanding as proven by lines out the door late Friday afternoons. Everything is made from scratch on the premises. We tried breakfast pastries, donuts and even bought a whole cake. Most donut shops/bakeries put out their items in the morning and when they are gone they are gone. Not here, they keep making donuts throughout the day. You can go late in the afternoon and the selection is just as good as when they opened that morning. I like that. Important to know, they only take cash which may be why they are able to keep prices affordable.

Longs Bakery and eager patrons !!

The history alone is rich and rewarding ,,,, then you taste ANY of their delicious creations and WOW! The glazed yeast are my perennial fav's but wow it's a model of efficiency and although there is almost always a line of eager customers (badge of honor for this bakery) the line flows like a military chow line , no attitudes just courtesy and friendly staff!!! It's known throughout Indiana and I'm sure with the hundreds of thousands of Indianapolis 500 race fans that have fallen for Longs treats !! Give them a try !!!!

What a historic treasure! Long's Bakery was recommended to us by an Indianapolis native and we headed out to experience it. Super small and simple but the yeast and cake donuts were heaven. Staff was in readily kind and patient and helped point us to some great selections. We loved the Bavarian cream with chocolate and the seasonal apple!

Had to try these legendary donuts while in town for work. They definitely live up to the hype. Very busy shop with quick service. Staff are very nice & helpful, as there is a lot to choose from.

I decided to stop into Long's Bakery during a thunderstorm. Best decision! Even at 6pm last night there was a steady line of customers. Every one was friendly and helpful. I got the Caramel Baby Alligator and 2 Cinnamon Fries.

Best donut selection at an affordable price in Indianapolis! All donuts are under $2 which you can't beat! Even if the line is long, stop by because it moves quickly!

Blueberry Cake and Plain Yeast (the heavenly pair)
    CJ D.

"That's all?" For all yeast knowers and cake truthers, the two donut test is a stalwart. My permanent pairing of blueberry cake and plain yeast is great launchpad for any lost souls. The cashier thought this was too few. I like that. Lab results came back in record time... Long's is a shoe-in. First in, last out build. She's really got it all. It warms my heart to know that amidst every race, color, and creed these sweet treats are common ground in Indianapolis. Amidst my brief queue, Doug laid some insight into his order. One cinnamon fry, taken home and microwaved. He drove down twenty some minutes just for that! I love the friendly reccs, really do, but that breakfast disc isn't surviving the parking lot. Don't expect a seat, frills, or pastel frosting. Instead savor the price and modest excellence of this storied grounds. History is written by the victors and it tastes pretty damn good! As always remember this, anybody who's somebody knows that everybody needs donuts.

The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit.
