My choices on their platter
Richard Walton C.

After eating lunch, I had a doctor's appointment in the area. While I was waiting I did a search on Yelp for dessert and found this place. This is large store for this type of product. The cases lining the walls seemed endless of product. It took awhile to browse through all of the selections. As noted by other reviewers the lack of labels and prices can be challenging, however the pricing is on the low end and not really a concern. My entire platter of seven items only cost me $11. My only need for labels would be to know what the filling inside is, if any. My favorite were the Bavarian cream filled pastries. I like how they place the filling inside. They do it differently than traditional donut places so as not to overwhelm the pastry with filling, only to compliment the dough. The pound cake I tried was wonderful. It was moist while not being too heavy. I should have picked up two pieces and tried some of the other cake choices.

If you like Mexican bakery goods and tamales then you NEED to RUN yes RUN to mama ines. This little gem is amazing whether you like donuts, churros, cookies, breads, sodas, cakes, or tamales. Everything is made fresh and amazing!!! Grab a tray and tongs and pick out your stuff! We have been going there for years and it never disappoints! Check it out! The price is great. The quality is amazing. It's everything you look for in a Mexican bakery. It reminds me of the bakeries we'd go to in California.

I had heard great things about Mama Ines' Bakery and thought I'd check it out. It's quite expansive and has a beautiful interior. Certainly a lot of recognizable staples plus a few pastries I hadn't seen before! I decided to try a slice of the Tres Leches and then also (not pictured) a chocolate cupcake. Unfortunately both items were quite dry (which is especially surprising for the Tres Leches since that's usually extremely moist). I personally won't be likely to go back, but I know others should be able to find what they'd like!

I love this place!!!! I had never been to this type of bakery, so for those who don't know. You grab a silver plate when you walk in and then you use the tongs to grab what you want out of those cases and then they check you out! I'll be honest I was worried with how "pretty" everything looked. All the food looked so delicious that I thought there was no way the taste would match. I was wrong!! Delicious!!! I did get a cannoli also and didn't like it, but I've been spoiled by placed in little Italy lol. Everyone was warm and helpful. Very clean also!!

Delicious pan dulce and donas

Mama Ines is the BEST bakery in Indianapolis hands down. This location and the one off Washington street. I actually didn't know this location existed until last night and I was almost giggling when I walked through the doors. It's so big, clean and filled with the tastiest pan dulce (sweet bread) you've ever had! The ladies working are always so friendly and I love that they'll speak in Spanish with me. You can put in orders for cakes and other items that they don't sell daily.

Did this for my husband's Birthday and Mama Ines was an excellent choice!

THE BEST HIDDEN GEM AROUND. I always am exploring businesses and generally have an idea about them. But Mama Ines? I had noooo idea how cool and unique this special spot is. Worth the drive. Do you like... Authentic Mexican bakery items? Insanely beautiful (custom) cakes? Festive hanging banners and theme? Practicing your Spanish? Melt in your mouth cake pops? 3 loaves of homemade bread for a dollar? I think we knew before reading these questions that you'd end up going here anyways, and I couldn't be more excited for you.

Isn't this a gorgeous tres leches cake?

The doughnuts are good but a lot of the other pastries have little taste. Service was ok and the prices are decent.

Does anyone know if they have tres leches cakes?

Yes! You may want to call ahead to make sure they are not sold out (I know weekends can get busy) or get there early in the morning.

Yes, these are quite a bit pricer that's for sure. People were buying one of everything in line. I was like wow! Some Items the combinations of flavors didn't appeal to me. I love tiramisu and pecan pie so I got them both. One suggestion I would have is to have utensils and napkins at the table for people to use. The pastries I bought are really temperature sensitive and need to be kept cold. Both had a cream - mousse inside. They wouldn't last long only a day or to the next. I loved the pecan item I ordered. It was great! The tiramisu one I wouldn't order again. The bottom flakey part was so bitter. I love coffee and expresso and tiramisu. But, the whole thing just wasn't what I thought it would taste like. Now I know. :-( Creamy, sweet, smooth, with a kick of coffee all come together to make a great tiramisu. This is what most people love about it. I don't know if they are planning on opening a store or not. The pop ups are doing well it seems. I will try other items whenever I can get to one of the pop ups.

I took a few friends so we could…read moretry more of the pastries and I'm so thankful I did -- the line was wrapped around the corner 30 minutes before the event had started, and when it did, people were spilling out with BOXES of pastries. What went from ordering 1 pastry each turned into 8 total.. and we regret nothing. The Tiramisu Danish was exactly as I had hoped for! The bitter taste of espresso paired with the sweet mascarpone cream filling reminded me of the holidays when I would watch my mom make tiramisu for our family. While a lot of people prefer a sweeter espresso, I thought this was perfect and very true to a traditional tiramisu taste The Pear Kouglof reminded me of a fresh yeast donut that's been tossed in sugar This was a very kid-friendly pastry in taste and while I wasn't too blown away by it, it did make me wonder if I would have preferred it with a stronger, more potent, fruit. The Cherry Basque Cheesecake -- this pastry was the house favorite. The texture of this cheesecake was creamy, but somehow still spongey.. cakey, but more like pudding. Mix that with the juiciest sour cherries and the crunch of a biscoff crust.. mind blown was an understatement. We're looking forward to what Beurre Sec has planned for their next pop-up

They've got a ton of stuff from bars, sweets, pastries, and even popcorn. Easy to get distracted. Staff was really nice and helped me find what I was looking for. I ordered the hot chocolate... just one sip and wow, I already knew. This jumped straight to the number one spot for me. Best hot chocolate I've had in the States, no question. The flavor was deep and full. You get those darker, slightly nutty notes right away, then it settles into this smooth, creamy finish that just stays with you. Every sip hits the same, and it just keeps pulling you back in. The whipped cream on top melts right into it and adds a little extra sweetness without taking away from the chocolate. The whole drink felt like an experience. I even asked how they make it and found out they use actual chocolate bars... makes sense. 100% worth it. And definitely be coming back for more.

There are so many different types of chocolates, candies, desserts, coffees, hot chocolate, ice cream and little fancies for any kind of sweet tooth. I got the Cherry Jubilee Hot Chocolate which literally tasted like a warm chocolate covered cherry. It was so divine. Perfect for the cold weather. We got a little assortment of goodies which included candied blueberries, candied cherries, old fashioned toffee bars and dark chocolate covered citrus peels. The blueberries were the perfect pop of fruitiness. Who knew such a little thing could have so much flavor and put a huge smile on your face. The cherries were tart and sweet and so delectable. The chocolate covered citrus pill was the perfect flavor combination. I love orange and chocolate. It was such a treat to go there. The service was great. You could even purchase some of that glimmer to make your life sparkle at home, granted for almost $40. I decided to stop in because I've pretty much tried every coffee shop in Hamilton County, and when I saw you could grab coffee to-go here, I knew I had to check it out since I've never been! I'm SO glad I did because this was easily one of the prettiest coffees I've had in the area, and the vibes were absolutely immaculate. The space was a little cramped, and it was somewhat tricky to tell who was waiting in line for goodies versus coffee, which made it feel a bit overstimulating. But the drink itself was sweet, delicious, and definitely worth the stop! I can't say it would be one of my frequent stops as I waited a decent amount of time for just a coffee, in a cramped area but was cool to see as I can't find myself making a reservation anytime soon after seeing the prices (sheesh to say the least!) It did seem like such a special spot in Carmel, IN, stepping into an entirely different world so I understand the hype, maybe one day I'll try the cake & food.

Whoever you are... thank you. You changed my life. The sweet woman behind the counter heard where I was from and handed me a complimentary glazed yeast donut. Let me tell you... WHEW! It wasn't even fresh out of the oven, and it still melted in my mouth. Light, soft, perfectly glazed... I knew right then I was in trouble. I ended up buying a box with blueberry cake, applesauce cake, cinnamon sugar, Bavarian cream, glazed yeast, and a few others. Everything was incredibly fresh, and at those prices, I had to double-check the menu because I thought I was reading it wrong! When I got back to my parents' house in Louisville, we warmed a few up for just a few seconds. Game over. They somehow tasted even better. My plan was to take some to church tomorrow to share... but judging by how fast they're disappearing, I may be testifying about them instead. Before I left, the woman smiled and said, "Make sure you come back when you're in town." Oh, I'll be back. I may even create reasons to drive through Indianapolis now. Long's Bakery doesn't need fancy displays or trendy flavors. They simply make outstanding donuts with friendly service and prices that make you wonder if they accidentally forgot inflation. 10/10. Worth every mile of the detour.
