This is my third experience here. Every time it's been better and better. First two times I came in for just one or two pieces of pastry. This third time I was picking up 18 pastries - 3 different types- all delicious and superbly baked AND a cake. WOW! The cake was amazingly beautiful! delicious and decorated exquisitely with huge intricate frosting flowers and leaves. I'm very very happy with my order- they even helped me carry it to the car. This bakery made my special family party a huge success, everyone enjoyed the food and remarked on how delicious it looked and tasted. Thank you SO much for making the event extra special read more

I don't even know where to begin... I came in for a pastry and left emotionally attached. Let's talk about the croissants. I had not one, but TWO -- and I regret absolutely nothing. The raspberry pistachio croissant? Oh. My. God. This thing had me in a chokehold. Flaky, buttery layers with the perfect balance of tart raspberry and rich pistachio. It wasn't just good -- it was write-home-about-it good. The kind of pastry that makes you pause mid-bite and question every other croissant you've ever had. The second was a croissant sandwich (I wish I could remember the name!), but the way those flavors paired together? Let's just say it was a full culinary experience. Savory, balanced, indulgent -- you get the hint. Every bite just made sense. Now here's the part that really says something: I grew up on the East Coast where authentic French bakeries are everywhere and the cultural standard is high. I know a proper croissant. And this? This was better. Yes, I said it. We even had the chance to speak with the owner, who was incredibly warm and genuine. He checked in to make sure we enjoyed everything -- which we clearly did, considering we left with boxes to take home. This place isn't just a pastry shop. It's an experience. And trust me, it will be a topic of discussion in our house for days. Run. Don't walk. read more

WOW! This place is absolutely amazing. The smells alone are worth the trip to this gem. The staff are very friendly and highly efficient. I went on a Sunday morning (Mother's Day) to get the special women in my life some treats. I got the chocolate croissant, almond croissants and a cinnamon one. I also got an everything bagel and every single thing is super delicious and freshly baked. Everyone li ed all the treats. They went so fast pictures were not taken. read more

Very good croissants . The pistachio, chocolate , almond , whichever you get it's going to be amazing . Very friendly/patient staff . The place is very quiet and open. Plenty of seating . The location is perfect because ICF is in the same area so you can get both coffee and your pastry from two very good local spots read more

Go-to for made fresh daily pastries!! You have to try everything! I have been 2x already! I have ordered the Almond croissant, blueberry muffin, blueberry lemon scone, ham and Gruyère croissants, and the famous cinnamon roll croissant. Everything is baked to perfection. Fresh and melts in your mouth. Staff is friendly and helpful with any questions. I typically get my items to go, but they have seating available to get a coffee and pastry to sit and enjoy inside. I definitely recommend. Free parking available, back entrance door away from the street. It is next to a coffee shop. read more

The almond croissant is good! A croissant (usually almond) is my litmus test when I visit a new bakery, and Le Petit Gateau makes a good one. It's flaky and buttery and shatters in just the right way. The almond paste inside is just enough. They also have chocolate croissants and butter croissants. The number of goodies available is around 12 or so, ranging from the croissants that I mentioned, to scones to muffins. There are also loaves of fresh bread, baguettes, English muffins and bagels. In the refrigerated case, you'll find creme brûlée, tiramisu, and a sliced cake of some sort (there was no label). I like that there's not a huge variety of things, just a few quality items, because I don't necessarily think that more is better when it comes to baked goods! Just put out some of your bangers and I'm happy. Le Petit Gateau is located in an unmarked, unassuming residential-looking building. But look for the balloons, and you'll see the entrance. Inside, you'll find Indie Coffee Roasters, lots of seating and co-working space, outdoor seating and a comfortable vibe. read more

I was craving chocolate and like rich good chocolate and who can't think of Le Petit Gateau. It's a bakery within Indy coffee roasters and they mostly take orders but they also have a good variety of breads, croissants, brownies and muffins so you may get lucky with what you are craving for. Atleast that's my experience. Service was pretty quick and I ordered and left in less than 5 minutes read more

Cute little pastry shop under the new apartments at North End... filled with sweet treats, pastries even macaroons. Nice open space shared with Indie Roasters, individual seats but what a cute spot for moms and their kiddos! Even a comfy couch area! Snagged a blueberry lemon scone and snagged 2 macaroons from Nicole. She helped explain the flavors and I wish I had purchased more bc they were so light, crisp and airy! Parking located right out front but I'm unsure where I'd park if those were all taken? Close enough to walk from the Monon and take a break but good location with all the apartments above it. Hope to visit again bc macaroons are my weakness! read more

I come here frequently and the pastries were by far, the best in Indy. Today my experience was completely opposite. I got the pan au chocolat which I always get and it was awful. It was dull and stale, clearly not fresh, and smushed in the bag. I went back up to the counter and they said that's all they had left. They did not seem to care that I was unhappy. I threw it in the trash. I opted not to give a one star review because I've had so many good experiences. I just hope this isn't their new norm. read more

Have been eating my way through the display case - everything has been wonderful! Especially love the variety of croissants.

We've gotten to try so many delicious items here now, so I wanted to update my review to share my two current favorites: the almond croissant and the butterscotch blondie. They're both crave-worthy and I highly recommend you try them if you haven't! You'll dream about them! read more

I saw a newsletter about the opening of Le Petit Gateau. I love croissants and couldn't wait to try it! They have some great options and I ordered all of the croissants and the danish to try out. The plain croissant is buttery. The chocolate croissant has a good amount of chocolate. The ham and Gruyère croissant was my least favorite. I think the trim of the ham on the outside was slightly hard from it being exposed while baking but you can just take that part out if you don't like it. My favorite was the almond croissant. It wasn't too sweet! The cheese danish had cinnamon in it which I was surprised about. I warmed them up at home and they were all delicious. To top it off, Indy Coffee Roasters share the same space, so I'll be making two trips every time. The space seems like a great place to work at! It's big and has a lot of seating. I can see myself working there for a couple of hours if I need a place outside of the house. It's a great spot! read more

Yessss! Finally made my way over to this place today and I am so pumped! Been missing an almond croissant with ample filling from my life. I ended up getting a a variety of things for the family to try so we could pick our favorites. Clear winners were the croissant, scone and danish. Muffin was also wonderful, but the others stood out because I have a hard time finding superb quality in those elsewhere. Very minimalist atmosphere but cozy, it works! Street parking right out front. They open at 7am during the week, dangerous for pre-work goodies! read more

I stopped in for the new indie coffee location and this bakery happened to be right across from them. Everything looked so fresh even though it was 2pm in the afternoon. I picked the chocolate croissant and cinnamon roll croissant and both were absolutely delicious! I love that the bakery is close to me, there's so much seating and it's baby friendly! read more

This place is located on the first floor of Northend Apartments next to Indie Coffee Roasters. I was able to go on their very first day and I was NOT disappointed (nor did I expect to be). The service was quick and there was parking around the back and in the front. This is also a great space to work from as they have amazing treats and coffee right there is a mixed-use space. Many tables and booths with charging outlets as well! I ordered a Ham and Cheese croissant and it was AMAZING! The chees was delicious and they did not skimp on the ham! I will totally be going back to try more of their offerings! Congrats on the Brick and Mortar!!! read more

Located on the first floor of a residential building and beside Indie Coffee Roasters, the spot has a good ambiance. Order, pick a seat, and enjoy your drink and pastry. This was a nice bakery! Very pretty and modern inside! The customer service was lovely and attentive. I ordered a macaron and a kouign amann. The macaron was birthday cake flavor and it very tasty! Had that lovely crisp edges but tasty soft insides. The kouign amann was good, I just prefer mine a little bit more crisp but it was still a great pastry. The only other reason for 3 stars was parking and finding the location. The bakery is located inside a building. read more

I am so happy that this place opened. The location is great and there is easy access from the front or back, where there is additional parking. The service was great and the pastry chef, along with the other employees, are so kind. It smells absolutely incredible and the hand painted artwork adds to the ambiance. As for the pastries, every single one has been phenomenal. Our favorites are the pain au chocolat and the ham and Gruyère cheese. All of the croissants are flaky, buttery, and flavorful. They priced extremely well too considering the amount of time and energy that goes into them. read more

The pastries are amazing! Always fresh and wonderful variety! Hidden gem in the North End.

Amazing space, but oh my god the bakery items are dreadful. Got pain au chocolat, ham and cheese, and kougin amann. The first two tasted like old cardboard. There was no buttery flavor, there was no flake, the crust... what crust?! I am so disappointed. The flat things Starbucks calls croissants are better. Do yourself a favor and go to places like Rene's, Leviathan, or Amelia's. This place is unfortunately not it. UPDATE: now I know why the croissants are so bad. When reading comprehension is not your strong suit, it's hard to follow recipes. Nice! read more

Cake was phenomenal, without a doubt the best I've ever had. Customer service experience was great! I told them "just make it pretty." and they did an outstanding job! It was a little pricey but if you want to get something special for a loved one or special occasion it's totally worth it. Huge thank you to the chef(s) who worked on Caitlyn's cake! Got a notification on Yelp that Le Petit Gateau was new and trendy. So glad I didn't ignore the notification! Based on the location being in a residential building, I never would have found it on my own. I bought a cinnamon roll pastry and a couple chocolate croissants. They were impressively delicious! Lovely cafe with plenty of cozy seating scattered around inside and outdoors. A perfect place to get work done or get together as they do have lots of tables for four. They even have a couch by the fireplace. We got some pastries, the almond croissant and raspberry cheese danish. The croissants here are amazing! A great place to work or meet up with a friend for a chat! There is an indie coffee roasters next door and a shared space with tables, chairs, a couch, etc. There is even a pretty decent sized conference room! Our pastries were heated and served on plates. So glad this place opened! It has a shared space with Indie Coffee Roasters so you can get a delicious pastry and coffee and enjoy it all at once in a super cool space. We shared a butter and chocolate croissant: both amazing, would highly recommend! And we took home a sourdough loaf which all of our family really enjoyed toasted with cheese or butter. The baked goods from Le Petit Gateau are unequivocally outstanding. We've had scones, croissants, and cakes, and all of them have been delicious and fresh.
