Broad Ripple Village. It's an unique neighborhood of Indy, on the far northside of the city. Where there are businesses based out of bungalows, the Monon trail runs through it, and people venture down on the weekends to frequent the boutiques and local restaurants (La Piedad, Bazbeaux, Flatwater, etc). Broad Ripple Village is going through the same changes that other neighborhoods are seeing (luxury apartment complexes, shuttering of small businesses, raising of rents forcing businesses out of mixed-use space). Over the past two years we've lived here, I've been frequenting nearly all of the places here. Except Filigree. Until now. Filigree Bakery- off Carrollton Avenue, adjacent to Fresh Thyme Market and where there used to be a Lou Malnati's. The word Filigree itself refers to the intricate metalwork used in jewerly, the lace-like patterns of gold and silver one might see in Indian jewerly. Small but intricate. The feeling of warmth out of something tiny. The space is small, but the filling in the macarons were not. I got a 6-pack of macarons- picking out two Pistachio (natural bias), strawberry, strawberry with lime, and other some others. The amount of filling in the macarons was more than I would get at other places. So definitely very filling. I'm not a macaron connoisseur. Suffice to say, I liked it. The shop was nice. This place is lovely!! I came in craving macrons and walked away talking myself out of about 100 other items including the cheesecake, lemon bars, and a mini labubu cake. I'm so impressed! The macarons were gone so quickly and wow they were all PERFECT. My favorite was the creme brûlée but I really don't think you can go wrong here. Wow what a cute little bakery with the yummiest of treats!! I hadn't heard of them before seeing their shop on IG-- The friendly woman I chatted with said they've had pop-up shops and finally got their brick and mortar shop April 2025. But about the food-- fantastic. So far I've tried a chocolate covered pistachio macaron, German chocolate cake slice, & crème brûlée cheesecake. REALLY good. Likely REALLY good. This is just the cutest little bakery I've been to in a while. From the warm and inviting feel you experience as you approach the building (this is probably due to the fact the structure looks like it used to be a small home) to the equally warm response you get from the staff, Filigree Bakery was an absolute joy to visit. As you approach the counter, there are plentiful confections tempting you from behind the glass. They seem to specialize in macarons. They have all sorts! They even have some specialty macarons for the person in your family who loves anime. From cookies and cream to pistachio to crème brûlée, the macarons don't end! They also offer cakes, cookies and other delicious treats. The shop has a great use of space. Just enough of what you want to see, but it is simple and elegant. Never too busy. Everything is clean and tidy, and you can guess the kitchen is the same. I should visit Broadripple more often. This area has grown and evolved over the years, in part, due to places like Filigree. I love having such a lovely establishment in our city that is proudly minority and female owned. This makes my heart happy. The world needs places like this to exist and thrive! While I was there, I picked up a little K-Pop Demon Hunter themed cake because my girls are obsessed right now. I chose the vanilla cream cake because that is a safe choice for children. But I had my eye on the almond and carrot cakes! Cute little bakeries like this were made for two things: sweet treats and even sweeter rendezvous! When I drove up to the bakery I was so happily surprised by the cute house that was the bakery. I was immediately greeted and welcomed into the bakery by Brooke. She did not know I was yelp and extended hospitality as though I was any customer walking in. When I told her my name she looked at the list and got out a box. One macaron had the name of the bakery, another the yelp logo. Any business could take advantage of this yummy advertising. I picked, lemon, coconut, crème boule and coffee. All were excellent. Upon leaving Brooke offered me either socks or a yelp bag. I took the bag. Good for the farmer's market. I said I wanted crème boule and she offered me the custard and macaron. I said I was sorry but I didn't want that duo just the small one macron was sufficient. She did not show any negative emotion to the change of order. The location is kind of hidden behind Fresh Thyme. If you leave the backside of the Fresh Thyme parking garage you will run into the bakery. Will I go back again? You betcha! read more

Filigree bakery has been our go-to for cakes and macarons for several years. I was so excited to hear the bakery would have a store front. Now I can pop in (almost) whenever I want for a sweet treat. Now coffee is also served. My favorite items are the zucchini bread, crème brûlée macaron and the dairy free chocolate cake is so good for lacking dairy. The bakery also organizes classes and fun events like making bead bracelets. Bakery store front is right next to the canal. So on your next walk around broad ripple you should stop in for a snack. I really really wanted to love this place. The bakery itself is cute. Great signage with enticing colors and graphics. The employee I talked to was so nice. They have a good amount of street parking. The 6 Macarons I got were so good. Like many others I thought the Crème Brûlée was amazing. And the other five were also wonderful. I know how finicky Macarons can be to make and I appreciate the work that goes into them. I also got a small almond cake. Almond cake is one of my favorites next to Red Velvet, and if you aren't careful you can over do the almond. The almond in this was good and not over done. I tried the cake right out of the fridge. The cake was a bit dry and the icing tasted of pretty much nothing but shortening. Although the icing was super smooth. I left the other half out of the fridge for a few hours to warm up to room temp. The cake dryness was improved with it being warmer. The icing consistency while a bit smoother still tasted of just shortening. I expect butter cream to have a buttery taste while being sweet but not just taste of sugar or butter. I would definitely go back for the Macarons and maybe try a different small cake flavor. read more

I'm so happy to see this bakery! I purchased a brownie at an event once, and it's wonderful to see the owner now has a store! The portions of cakes and brownies are perfect. Big enough to share, eat now and later, or indulge and eat the entire thing. They offer several flavors of cakes and brownies, all iced and adorably decorated. My favorite is the raspberry cream cheese brownie. We tried the almond cake, and it was a tad two sweet for our taste buds, but my kid and I usually trend towards sour stuff, so for most palates it will probably be just lovely. Cute and bright little home bakery specializing in macarons, extra friendly baker owner served me up some choice colorful bundles of joy. Nice to have parking right on sight, fantastic dining options next door, and all sorts to tingle the taste buds. It's not all gluten free, definitely not low sugar or offering nutrition forward ingredients, but for the classic dessert dream there are a few better spots in Indianapolis to treat yourself. Stopped here and picked up some focaccia to go with a little pasta we were having for dinner and when I got it home and tried it, I may have cried a little. Came back with my niece a few days later for a post-lunch treat and enjoyed a 6-pack of macarons, including chai, vanilla, and strawberry lime, and they were the perfect level of crisp and light, with a lovely filling. Not only is this a macaron bakery it offers mini cakes, and other pastries as well. My boys and I are macaron lovers and we had not yet heard of this place so it was time to try. Great location in BRip and the store itself was cute, small and very-mom-n-pop. I learned from the owner that this place is only 3 months old! My boys and I tried pistachio, fruity pebble, vanilla, double chocolate, rose water, crème brûlée, raspberry, coconut and strawberry lemon. There wasn't one we tried and didn't like. Crème brûlée was hands down our fave. We couldn't eaten a dozen. Other store offerings included lemon bars, muffins and mini cakes. Lots of flavors to choose from. Adorable, quaint little bakery in Broad Ripple. It's off the main roads, which is great. Also easy to get to. There was plenty of parking. It's small without any seating. They easily accommodated myself and my 3 rambunctious little boys stopping in to pick up a few items. The Macaroons were delightful and delicious. They were light, airy, and flavorful. I highly recommend the cookie monster and pistachio. There were many flavors of Macaroons to try and they are $2 on Tuesdays. There were also some delicious looking small cakes and brownies. Such a cute little bakery!! The macarons are really good! I got the crème Brulee, pistachio and coconut flavors and also purchased a mini almond flavor funfetti and carrot cake. The carrot cake was really good and moist with really good cream cheese icing but the almond funfetti had whipped icing which wasn't as great and the cake was dry. I'd love to try some of the other macaron flavors and bakery items though. They also had some cute gift items too, I ended up buying a pair of earrings! read more
