Buttermilk biscuit with butter and jam

The hype surrounding Indy Dough cannot be over exaggerated. They are seriously so so good and feel more elevated than your average donut because they are small-batch and are made with really unique flavors like guava cream cheese. I went to the pop up at Studio C a few weeks ago, but you'll have to follow along on Instagram @indydough to find out where she will be next! When I arrived 15 minutes before opening, there were already a few people lining up outside so definitely arrive early. I got a donut, a buttermilk biscuit with jam, and an iced chai latte and everything was divine. Studio C is right on the Monon, so if you're out for a run and think to yourself "I'd rather be enjoying coffee and a donut" then stop here!

Indy Dough is a new donut pop-up by Amanda Gibson who previously worked at an artisan donut shop in Florida developing recipes and thank goodness she's here because these donuts are amazing. I was lucky enough to snag a couple at her most recent pop up and the caramel miso apple donut had me salivating all day. Tips for her pop ups - check indydough on Instagram - show up early - 2 donuts per person so bring a friend if you want more - DONT be angry if she's sold out in a few minutes because these donuts are just that good - show up again for the next one

It takes some patience, alarm clocks, and memorizing your credit card number if you want a chance to try these doughnuts from Indy Dough. I think Amanda does a nice job of crafting flavor combos and taking the doughnut from something that can be simple into an art form. I was hoping for a melt-in-your-mouth doughnut, but found my two slightly chewy. Overall, I do think the doughnuts from Indy Dough are good and have fun flavors. I would definitely get the doughnuts again if I'm wanting something more than just a plain yeast doughnut. It is a one-woman pop-up shop, so there are a limited number of doughnuts that are sold during each event. So have a little patience when you're trying to get your hands on a box.

Indy Dough is the real deal, y'all. I've tried Amanda's donuts four times between her pop-up's at Studio C and collaborations with Circles Ice Cream and Guggman Haus Brewing, and every time I was super impressed with her offerings. Give her a follow on Instagram (@indydough) and cross your fingers that you'll be the recipient of her culinary creativity soon.

She was based out of Studio C but now will do pop-ups with other local businesses which is always a plus for me.

The storefront has a few tables to sit at and a large display case of all the donuts. Counter service to order is always pretty quick and easy. I like their rewards program in their app, which occasionally has freebies to entice you to come in. Not that I need it, but it sure helps. This most recent visit I got the local feature, which changes by the store and is supposed to be different for each store. This one had Oreo Cheesecake, which combines two of my favorite desserts. So of course I had to get it. I think I got the last one in the display case! They always have more donuts in the back though, as they make more throughout the day. A standard donut here is $3.95 at the time of posting, and dietary accommodating donut (vegan/gluten free, and keto donuts) are $4.25, so the prices are kept pretty fair in my opinion. They also have mini donuts which are a modest price (that I already forgot). There's also doggy donuts for $2.95! Coffee here always hits. I like to get the Mayan Mocha syrup in my latte, which is chocolate and cinnamon and too good not to get. This most recent visit I learned that they have whole bean coffee, and you can get a discount on your next can if you bring the old one back. Anyways, I've been going here and you know I'll be back here.

The cafe is cute though, it's small but has some seating arrangements. The girl who took our order was really nice. I felt bad because it seemed like it was just her and then it got busy quickly.

Every pastry I've tried has been delicious, and they offer such a great variety that it's impossible to leave with just one item. If you're craving top-tier pastries or just want to treat yourself, Long's Bakery never disappoints. An easy 5 stars!

The person who took my order had asked me what color flowers and what I wanted written on the cake. So someone had to have remembered me. The employee then told me it was at the Indianapolis location. So we drove another 30 minutes north to their other location, only to be told the cake was not there either and they had no record of it. We drove a total of 2 hours both ways for a cake that did not exist, when they could have simply told us the truth. We missed our daughter's bday dinner. Do not trust Southport bakery for important orders. Sending someone to a distant location knowing their cake was not there is messed up.
