So we are checking out at the grocery store and I see the word, "BAKERY" calling my name from the corner. I leave my family in line and sneak off to scope out the goods. I return to my cart only to grab my wallet because let's face it, the smell alone made me want to buy one of every pastry.
As a first timer, I was a little lost because there were no paper bags and plastic gloves under the pastry cabinets. But as a friendly employee explained to me, all you have to do is grab of the round trays and then you pile all your desired items on there with the provided tongs. I started with three amazingly large and soft donuts covered in sugar. (In the picture I will post, you will only see two donuts because I couldn't wait to get home to devour one.) Then I piled on a guava empanada and a pineapple empanada. I finished off my tray with a bread that reminded me of a danish, with some sort of filling in the middle and minus the frosting.
The donuts are awesome. Fluffy and sweet. I didn't care too much for the guava or pineapple empanadas but am looking forward to the last pastry I purchased. I will definitely be back soon and this time I will know what I'm doing and will also be able to try out some different items. read more
