How is this school going to require students to have 5-hour classes with meals that look like they came out of a rat's rear hole? The food was an absolute jungle mess! To say it was disgusting does not even cut it. 5 bucks for a single slab of frozen chicken, 10 bucks for some half-grilled mini hamburgers, 15 bucks for some light snack. I mean, like, COME ON, this has to be illegal, no? All this cafe served was a bunch of dirtbag instant frozen food, along with a whole aisle of snacks. Why do the kids need THIS MANY SNACK OPTIONS? PUT MORE FOOD!! What makes the whole experience even more atrocious is that the cafeteria workers are lazy and neglectful, giving the most wicked attitude I have ever seen. As someone who has eaten at many other school cafeterias, I can atest to faults in many other reviews. Yes, it is Sodexo- but definitely better than your run of the mill sodexo. The staff is so nice- it's a pleasure to see them everyday. Some dishes are better than others. The double chocolate muffins and made-to-order sweet potato fries are my favorite. The fruit at the fruit bar can be a bit pricey but it's always good and sweet. If I take into account the excellent atmosphere, beautiful view, wonderful staff, and pretty okay/good food- this is the best school "cafe" I've been to. Keep on rocking and rolling. read more

They food actually never changes, their fish tastes like chicken their chicken tastes like their fish, bland and very much comparable to hospital food. Ridiculously overpriced and the food is terrible. I am not a picky eater at all but many times I could not finish and had to throw it away despite being still hungry, it was that bad. They use way too much salt and all meats are overcooked like rubber. The only reason I still eat here is because, like most students here, I don't always have the time to drive down the hill. The only reason this place is still in business is because they're taking advantage of busy students, anywhere else they would be closed within a week. Shameful. If you do have to eat here, the only food worth it is breakfast burrito/combo, quesadilla/grill items, and the cheap soup with free bread. read more

I'm not always hungry but when I am I'm sure to hit up the one and only Art Center Cafe. I don't dilly dally with the mediocrity that exists in the vending machines hidden amongst the dark corners of the campus. I make sure to warm my soul in the amply lit cafe sporting a scenic view of grass, trees, and a smoking area. The scenery is aight, but the real tooth fruity is the what Sodexo likes to call the "crispy chicken sandwich". My god it's dank. You about it? I'm about it and so should you, your mom, and your mom's friends. Desmond just gets his fry right every time. Yeah, sure frying a frozen chicken patty really ain't that hard, but it certainly ain't easy either. Art Center cafeteria has very good chow if you see what they have and order what you like of it. They have a 3.00 grilled cheese sandwich on white or wheat with a wide selection of cheeses with avocado optional for 1.75 or so which turns out to be a pretty good deal considering how good the avocado is. French fries on the side optional for less than 2.00 are generous and well done. It's an art school, not a culinary academy, so caveat emptor. Their encheladas are good but the noodle dishes tend to be too greasy. I probably wouldn't go there for the food but some of the artworks on display are nice so why not have a nosh while you're looking at those or creating them. I really don't like Art Center's automotive design paradigm but their technology of making models of their bad car designs is second to none. Most of their car designs are about as impractical as a '55 Cadillac with huge tail fins blocking the driver's view. They're much better in fine arts expressing counterculture values. read more
