It pains me to write this because this place is cute and the pastries and brunch/lunch dishes have always been delicious, but the service and wait time here is consistently a disaster. There's never enough menus to go around while waiting to order. As a nice gesture, I let those behind me have our menu after we had decided and described the dish I wanted to the women working the counter. This dish was written on their menu by name, a melon prosciutto bowl, but she was very confused and eventually keyed in a prosciutto scramble which was not what I wanted and not listed anywhere on their menu (I double checked). There's not many tables, and nobody seems to clear them with any urgency even though there are always many people waiting to sit down. The last three times I have been there, the food took at least 30-40 minutes to come out after ordering, which is insane for a counter service cafe with a dozen tables. Any time I've asked how much longer on our food, the staff is very dismissive and rude and just barks 'we're busy!' .... OK? You're literally ALWAYS busy, is there not any way you can plan or staff for this in advance? The food runners always seem confused about what food is going where and are inconsistent with bringing silverware. The cherry on top of this last visit is that the rest of my party got their food (again, after about 35 minutes), with a promise that my dish was 'on its way'. We waited ten minutes before approaching the hostile staff at the counter to find... my dish, the scramble that I didn't even order and wasn't on their menu, had been sitting already made for the whole ten minutes. Nobody thought to grab it and deliver it, and when we asked about the dish and wait, were met with hostile shrugs and blank stares. Updating my review of this delightful spot. I've been here several times with a local friend over the past ten+ years and it's never less than scrumptious and good for the soul. The caramels: chef's kiss. The baked goods: gorgeous, delicious, and nourishing. This last visit, I got a kind of cold, spicy noodle salad and it was fantastic. Eating it in the sun was what I needed at that moment. I also went home with a packet of giant, sugar-dusted vanilla marshmallows for my child. They weee a hit chopped into pieces and added to hot chocolate. I've also bought gifts and beautiful Christmas ornaments over the years. I used to love this place but it has gone downhill. I had the Brown Rice Bowl and it was mostly just a bowl of brown rice. There were no black eyed peas, no red peppers and no nori. There was very little dressing, 5 haricot verts, a few shredded carrots and 3 small pieces of bland tofu. Not worth $17.00. This bowl used to be a work of art back in the day. In general, the food is good. I've been there several times and I really enjoy the coffee and have purchased their bag of Joshua Tree coffee on numerous occasions. My only minus would be wait time and on a couple occasions they've gotten my orders wrong. Also, the price point is a wee bit upscale for what is offered especially the coffees every little add-on is an extra charge so you walk away with a basic two shot Dopio with a little bit of milk and 1 pump of flavor costing you $7 dollars, and that's not even if you add tip. which I feel is a little extreme. It's so hard to find a good bakery, but Little Flower is a gem hidden well within Pasadena. They specialize in their bread, and they serve a delicious breakfast biscuit. They offer both breakfast items as well as lunch sandwich, sandwiches, hot, and cold. Coffees are decently priced, and also decent in taste. Arrived on a Saturday morning and people were waiting before they were officially open. It's a small shop with mostly,if not all, outdoor seating. There's a parking lot on the side/in the back and there's also plenty of street parking. Only got to try the cranberry orange scone for my visit but it was delicious. This place is my sister's favorite brunch spot so I was looking forward to this visit. We got our food and my sister asked for some black pepper but the lady who brought us our food gave us SO much attitude and said it's in the front. I get that you're busy on a Sunday morning but you don't need to be so rude to the point of making us feel like we don't ever want to go back. It's unfortunate because I'm a firm believer of starting your morning off on a good note, especially on the weekends but this visit really made it difficult to do that. A need for post run coffee and breakfast brought us to Little Flower. Cute, almost hidden little cafe that offers so much more than you'd think. We walked in and were surprised to see shelves and displays full of candies, Christmas decor (all 50% off right now), teas, coffee, pottery, snacks, seasoning, books, kids' items and so much more. At the counter you can find baked items, prepared meals, and canned drinks for sale. I would never have lot there would be so many options. The staff was super friendly. We placed our order and waited to the side. We realized quickly this cafe was crazy popular. Indoor and outdoor seating areas were full and there was a constant steady flow of customers in line and picking up orders to go. Our items were presented to us in white paper bags and we were off to enjoy them at home. What we ordered: - Hot Vanilla Latte with almond milk (it was ok. would have liked a stronger espresso) - Breakfast sandwich (loved the caramelized onions. something other than sliced toasted wheat would have elevated the sandwich) - Egg and bacon burrito (very tasty. decent portion size) -Vanilla Caramel Bread Pudding (massive piece of vanilla bread pudding smothered in a ridiculous amount of gooey caramel sauce. so freaking good. might take us a couple days to finish it) Will be back next time we are running at the Rose Bowl. Little Flower Cafe has been a hub of the community for 17 years. I had not been there for a number of years (and never dined in)... After hearing that Little Flower has been feeding those who've lost everything in the devastating Eaton Wildfire disaster, as well as first responders, fire fighters, etc., I really wanted to go and support. We went for breakfast on a weekday, and were able to sit inside where there are about 5 small tables next to the window. There is also outdoor seating on the front patio. Interior is cozy, bright and cheerful. Service is friendly and efficient. I ordered at the counter, and they brought our order to the table. My Mom had the Breakfast Bowl--- White bean, sausage, baby kale, fennel, onion, lemon dressing, pistou with poached egg. I had the Veggie Bagel - Cream cheese, mixed greens, tomato, cucumber, red onion, avocado, red pepper & carrot on a toasted everything bagel. Everything was great! The bagel had a lot of greens, and I wish it had some dressing, as it was dry. But we enjoyed our breakfast. My Mom got a small to-go box to take some of her Breakfast Bowl home. I was going to get some cookies to take home, but the line was too long. It was bustling, and great to see both indoors and outdoor patio full with customers. Unassuming coffee shop/breakfast spot along the busy street of Colorado. The inside of the shop is quirky, filled with easter decorations and bunnies and random colorful trinkets. I got an iced vanilla latte which was really good. Not a lot of space to sit down so I took my coffee to the park next block. What makes it really special here is the service. I first became familiar with Little Flower through the Conan O'Brien Needs a Friend podcast. Cohost Matt Gourley mentioned his favorite dessert, the milk chocolate covered honeycomb. Because of the power of the podcast, there were lines out the door and the milk chocolate covered honeycomb would sell out before Matt could get his fix. When I first came here, the hype had officially died. However, when I mentioned the podcast to the employees at the counter one of them immediately remembered the boom in business. They were very pleasant and attentive to the order. Before and after ordering, I couldn't stop looking at the gifts they had near the counter. I literally and figuratively was a kid in a candy store. Every item was so fun and inviting like the cafe itself. Then the food came. Every bit was delicious. To drink, I had a half-caf oat milk iced lavender latte. It was the perfect balance of sweet and espresso. For my meal, I had the veggie burrito to get my helping of produce, protein, and carbs. My parents got the quiche and the salmon scramble. The latter was definitely my favorite. I couldn't leave without getting the milk chocolate honeycomb. I definitely see why it's Matt's favorite dessert. Situated on an "odd" stretch of Colorado Blvd on the way from Eagle Rock to Pasadena, Little Flower is a cool little cafe with some delicious food, a nice vibe, and friendly, attentive service. The egg scrambles are generous (can be shared) and tasty and the quiche is tasty too, although its texture is more "eggy" and like a flan than a conventional quiche. The pastries are all delicious and the packaged salads are good as well. If anything is a bit lacking it can be the pre-packaged soups, but you didn't come here to buy soup anyway, right? There are a few small round tables inside and seating can be either "close" or "crowded", or "friendly", depending on your attitude. There is also seating outside but be advised that cars zipping along Colorado and the noise from the adjacent 134 freeway can make conversation and hanging out a bit of a challenge. Prices are on the high side but if you're willing to share that problem is solved. If you're in the area I highly recommend this place, and usually street parking is not a problem, either. Charming and delicious! This little cafe has such great food to either eat in or to-go. I met a few friends for lunch and had an absolutely delicious Green Goddess salad. My friend loved her quiche of the day, which she said was so light & fluffy. You order and pay at the counter, and then your food is brought to your table. There are seats inside & out, and they seemed to rotate fairly quickly. We shared a few of the incredibly delicious baked items. Definitely give some (or all) a try! There are also lots of things to purchase as gifts or for yourself. We were there a week before Easter, so lots of items and candies for the holiday. And be sure to not miss the sea salt caramels.
