As expected, Rahul -- the same individual who wrongfully towed a decade-long customer's car -- is now desperately trying to intimidate me by threatening a baseless countersuit. Laughable. Let me be clear: no amount of posturing, threats, or frivolous legal fantasy will change the truth of what happened. Rahul, you can huff and puff all you want. The facts are not on your side -- and neither is the law. To add insult to injury: after Rahul wrongfully had my car towed, I was forced to Uber all the way to Los Angeles to retrieve it because the Pasadena impound was flooded and overfilled due to rain. I wasted an entire hour there, an hour back, and barely made it back exhausted to meet a client on time -- all because of Rahul's reckless and dishonorable behavior. read more

Bought a casino game here for $55 for a Christmas present for my son. When he opened it Christmas morning, the roulette wheel was broken. I just returned it today to be told they can't swap or refund because the box was opened????? WTF??? How are we supposed to know it's broken until we open it. Would not recommend buying anything from here. A very rude and uncooperative manager. Maybe they should sell X ray glasses so we can see into the box before opening it. Unbelievable ‍ Update . The owner of the store was great and helpful and immediately exchanged the item without a problem. A shame we had to go through so many hoops. but thankfully it got resolved. No apology from the manager just a surly attitude. The store is good and has some great products ( when they aren't broken). The owner may want a word with the manager on how to interact with customers in future. read more

This place is located in a great area and is right next to my apartment complex. I decided to walk on over just to check it out. They have a lot of different items that are typical of pharmacies, but what caught my eye was the extensive amount of Jelly Cats! I collect these stuffed animals and I was so happy to find them here. Update: This place has remained the Best Pharmacy/Local Little Mart in Pasadena! First of all their staff is incredibly helpful and friendly! They go above and beyond to meet their customers needs. Raul is one of my favorites here he is really passionate about making sure everyone leave happy and well! They are very good about curating a beautiful selection of gifts and snacks! They also sell a great assortment of homeopathic remedies like arnica and CBD products! Overall their prices are great and they are a local small business that I would much rather support instead of the big box Pharmacies! read more

I had a similar experience as another person who commented. My doctor called in a prescription and the pharmacist from Old Pasadena called me with a judgmental smugness that I could feel through the phone saying that my doctor was "telemedicine" and "not local" so they would NOT fill the prescription. I visit my doctor at their office as is required by law for this particular medication. Their office is in Costa Mesa. It's not telemedicine. I don't like driving there, but it's the closest doctor in my insurance network. I wish I could pay out of pocket for your fancy Pasadena psychiatrists who do not take insurance, but alas, I have inferior insurance, so I get inferior care. Is this even legal to deny care to a patient? It certainly is not ethical, but your arrogance and Maybach help you sleep just fine at night. Being exclusionary and discriminating against "non-local" patients is a red flag. They clearly want you to support your local pharmacies. I didn't realize Eagle Rock was not local. If you came to my neighborhood, I would treat you like anyone else. I guess that's not how they roll up in the Old Pasadena Pharmacy. Trying to keep it like the real Old Pasadena. ----- I have researched the issue and found that denying a legitimate prescription is not legal. They did not even offer to find an alternative pharmacy. Unfortunately, filing a complaint with the California State Board of Pharmacy will not do much to curb this illegal behavior, but it is important to report it. If other people have had similar experiences, I encourage you to also file a complaint. read more

I would give this place 100 stars if I could. Raul and the other pharmacists are top-notch. They know your name, they take the time to explain your medications, and they work with your doctors to make sure your refills go through. Raul personally went above and beyond to work with my insurance company when they refused to authorize my prescription, even though that really wasn't his job. I am a customer for life! read more

Love the pharmacy. This is about the medication aspect. Will never understand why places do this...and it's not just about the supply. Had my doctor call ahead of time, at which point they confirmed the stock of my medication. I go in there to pick it up and, just like other places, because it's a controlled medication, there's the air of judgment around it followed by the pharmacist making it impossible to get my medication. All of a sudden, even though my doctor called ahead of time, they don't have it in stock and you're given the same BS about this or that. What makes it really obvious? Questions like, "are you local?" Why does that matter???? Are you pharmacists or the police?! Jesus. All this to set up an account and be told he will see if he can "slot me in" for my meds....didn't know it was your choice but guess you couldn't slot me in. Waste of time. Will stick to other unreliable chains thank you very much. read more

If there's any business that would surprise me, I would say this is one of those places. I always park nearby to go to restaurants and have always walked by this place. I was curious on why a pharmacy would have outdoor seating and signs saying they've ice cream? Maybe it is to make you happy and forget all the pain you're in, hahaha. Nope. This place is a pharmacy first hence their name but it is so much more. It has fresh packaged food, drinks, chips, and even caters to the local population....so there's all types of noodles and ethnic snacks. They even serve alcohol! On top of that, it's also a convenience store with piratically things would you find at at your local CVS/Walgreen's. A large assortment of greeting cards, holiday socks, shaws for warmth or style. I'm now going to be coming here a lot more often and you should too. read more

We are neighborhood locals and the shop is always so stylish and well appointed with gifts and great wine, but most importantly they have stuff you need since it's a real pharmacy. Where do I begin??? Placed in the corner, across the street from a church, there is the most amazing pharmacy/market place/ gift shop all rolled into one. Cleanliness: The store is bright, clean and everything is well organized, so it's easy to find whatever you need. Food/Drinks: They have all my favorite food and drinks. They have all kinds of crazy Korean ramen, snacks, which are hard to come by. The also sell my favorite coffee brand which is stumptown coffee as well as crazy flavored aloe drinks. They have some of the coolest and hip things but the real highlight of the review is the service. Denny, a huge shoutout to him has always helped me whenever I went by, as well as Raul. They are always smiling and more than ready to help you with whatever you need. If you are unsure of what kind of medicine to get, Raul is the man who can always help you out. Denny, is one of the coolest guys you can find, he is never shy to start a conversation and ask about how your day was, always bringing you up through simple small talks when you are down. Overall, this is not just a regular pharmacy... it's a store with people who actually enjoys helping others. I see a team of energetic people who starts a relationship with the customers and not just sell their products... Highly recommend this place, check it out and give them a try!! I love this place. My husband and I wandered into this pharmacy when we lived at Westgate Apartments and were so excited to find that this store has everything. From fresh salads (with amazing dressings!) and artisan snacks to distinctive candles and gifts, to the items I need everyday (medicine, eco friendly cleaning products, and supplements), I always find what I need. The best part about this store is the staff. I switched my prescriptions from CVS to here because the staff knows me by name here. They always have my prescription ready, and take care of all the hassle if I need to change or add anything to my prescription. Hi, I am writing in regards to getting compounded prescriptions filled with them. They charge 2-3 times what other pharmacies charge and refuse to give you the information that is necessary to file a reimbursement claim with your insurance. They're not even willing to explain why they won't give this information when it is standard practice for pharmacies to give a superbill with all of the information that would allow you to submit to your insurance. I hope this advice helps you to avoid this pharmacy! There are so many more considerate ones out there to choose from. read more

No more waiting, nor nasty attitudes from CVS/Ralph's/RiteAid etc.. My Daughter now insists on going with me to the pharmacy! Raul is a miracle worker! He was able to get my insurance to cover a medication that I had been paying for out of pocket elsewhere. I didn't even know that was possible! I feel so fortunate to have found this incredible pharmacist and pharmacy which is also a terrific gift shop and health food store all in one. All I have to say is fantastic!! I love this pharmacy. Not just a pharmacy but a store as well. I love the assortment of specialty gifts, papyrus cards, skincare & food items. I came in to checkout the store & right away Rahul, the owner greeted me, my boyfriend & our dog with a warm smile & hello. I'm so happy to have such a great pharmacy in old Pas. I ended up having a Joan's Roasters coffee & enjoying the shaded outside seating after picking up some specialty gifts. Even better, Rahul said in December he is going to have wine & possibly wine tasting! How does it get better than that? I love that this is a great way to meet more people in our neighborhood. I was pretty shocked by the first review on here being so low considering that this fine establishment clearly sets a new bar for pharmacies in Pasadena. Seriously, not only do they carry all medical/aid products you can think of, their home good, gift, and grocery selection is above and beyond! And they have a beautifully designed store to boot. They carry fine soaps, candles, stylish bags and hats, and they even have a section dedicated to dogs! Speaking of-they're pet friendly. Oh, and at their checkout counter they sold Korean face masks. I mean, what?! I don't even use face masks, but who puts this much thought into their selection? It's astounding. Also, notice earlier I said grocery and not simply food, because that's basically what they have, a mini-grocery. Not only can you get your usual salad, sandwich, sodas, chips, or candy, they carry spices and sauces for cooking! Some of which are even oriental. Did I mention they had a coffee bar too? Yup. Lastly, their service is great. I spoke with Raul, the owner, and he couldn't have been more amiable and kind. Honestly, completely baffled how anyone could think this place was even close to a 1-star. I'll be coming here for my meds and clearly a lot of other things from now on. I wish that I could give this pharmacy a zero star review, but 1 will suffice. The staff at this pharmacy are incredibly rude and condescending. There is no communication between staff members. There was a problem with one of my medications, and they immediately denied any plausibility or possible way that they could have messed up my medication. I asked to speak to a manager or anybody above the person I was speaking to, and I was told that the manager was out of town and not reachable because he was "up in the mountains". The issue I had was that one of my medications that they filled actually had the wrong pills inside of the bottle. A few of the right pills were in there along with bunch of pills that looked very similar to mine, however, when I looked up the ID numbers on them, they were a completely different medication. There are hundreds of ways that this situation could have been remedied, but curtly snapping at me that it was IMPOSSIBLE for that to have happened was inappropriate, showed terrible customer service, and illustrated that all they care about is money and being sued. All I wanted was an apology and an acknowledgment of the situation but they kept turning it around on me. They refused to refill my medications, not that I wanted to go there anymore but it was late in the day and I needed them. When I called another pharmacy to have them transferred, the pharmacist at the new pharmacy exclaimed, "Oh no! I don't want to have to call them!!" So not only have they pissed off and almost seriously harmed a patient, but people working in their industry are not fond of them either. DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY! read more

support indie pharmacies! they're so much better.... Raul and the team here is so unbelievably friendly that I forget I'm in LA. It feels like an upscale New York bodega where the bodegaman is your friend but instead of tide pods and rat poison you've got wine and Korean honey chips. This year with covid I guess they're not doing this (just normal flu shots) but in every other year Raul is the best shot giver! I've always had a bad phobia of needles and I think we've all had bad experiences with vindictive nurses who just want to stab someone....Raul uses subdermal needles so you get the vaccine without a welt and bruise. Not only that but I have a pretty crazy chronic illness and a few years ago had pharmacogenetic testing to see why I reacted badly to *everything*. Mentioned it to Raul when I got the results and he asked if he could see and kept the gene results on file and more than once saved my ass by calling a dr or two to say "hey you prescribed x and she can't have that because of y gene...if you prescribe this or this with this though it'll work out better." I've had more than one drs appointment where Raul called them and the next time I was in my dr was raving how great my pharmacist is and how much of a breath of fresh air they are. I've since moved a ways away and really have no reason with covid to be back in Pasadena, and yet here I am trying to see if I can coordinate medications to be ready at roughly the same time/day except for ones they might not have and just have one day a month to head out to Pasadena because THEY'RE THAT GOOD. It sounds nuts but having a pharmacist who actually remembers your face and is so helpful and professional is such a relief. read more
