Very kid friends with awe sensory activities and book reading groups. I recently started school. I enjoy a different scene from my warm bedroom especially now in the summer. Studying at this library is not as pleasant as it used to be. It smells really bad in specific areas due to many homeless people. They take up all the study tables and quiet corners. Most of them sit for hours on their phone. Some Sleep for hours. It's not as quiet as other libraries but it's quiet enough to study my online classes. I'm a bit disappointed with how the remodeled. It feels more modern than homie which is no issue just not my vibe. I don't remember the library staff allowing homeless people in when I was a kid unless they looked somewhat well kept and with better hygiene. Anyways if it weren't for the homeless people and smell this library would still be my top favorite. I prefer the signal hill library now but still Billie Jean is a close way from where I live Oh and signal hill library is open on Mondays! Which is great because I study everyday of the week. I don't mean to be mean towards homelessness people. I agree there should be more done but one reality is that not all of them care to work and most are doing drugs. I can see that being of conflict in assisting them with stability. Nevertheless, I will always remember the good memories I had at this library. I practically grew up here.

The parking was free. They had a great gift shop and everything was perfect there. It was great to walk around. We must've been there for about six hours.. They had a restaurant you needed reservations. They also had a little area where you could buy drinks and snacks.. We'll definitely be back!

She wrapped up my wind chime and bagged the card (now discovered to be two). When I got home, I phoned them right away when I saw the other card was stuck to it! I explained what happened and asked to pay for the mishap! Gigi was extremely helpful in figuring out how I could do so and thanked me for my honesty. I'm just glad we could sort it out! Here you can find a wide variety of hand-crafted goods. And there is quite a myriad of objects on display. There are a large number of hand-woven bags, rugs and tapestries for use or display (or both). One wall is almost entirely devoted to jewelry. And there's a very large collection of pottery, including bowls, dishes and coffee mugs. This place is an excellent place to shop for those who are intrigued by foreign cultures. And the prices are extremely reasonable. And besides for being reasonable, you can find nice pieces in the under ten dollar range, well into the one hundred and fifty or more. There really is something for any budget. I was greeted when I entered the store and asked if I needed help...but was not asked every five minutes (something that I see as a major plus). The staff at the pick-up desk provided excellent customer service for our purchase orders. One standout feature was the children's book reading section. An author was reading his book to children and their mothers, and it was a free event that took place every week at the bookstore. I was also impressed by the wide variety of gifts, stationery, and book accessories available for sale. The products had a unique personality and were reasonably priced. I bought a few items for an upcoming birthday gift for a dear friend. If you're in the Pasadena area and need to buy a gift, grab a cup of coffee or a glass of wine at their cafe, or of course, browse their extensive book selection, I highly recommend Vroman's.

Dedicated shelving for the Penguin Archives (different from Penguin Classics) series in addition to a carousel of classics under the New York Review Books (NYRB). Kudos for siting cashiers throughout the store, avoiding longer lines, and having a separate info desk with a kind staff member who was willing to turn over every stone in the database to help me track down my obscure requests. They weren't in Vroman's inventory. However our family still managed to make a Benjamin-sized dent in our discretionary spending. Bring your patience b/c the free parking lot behind the store is shared with Total Wine and the cinema. Drivers could be staying for a while with the enticing coffee shop and live events like a trio concert just outside Vroman's rear entrance. The next time we're in Pasadena and can't find gently loved copies of specific books at Book Alley, we're coming to Vroman's.

This was our first time here, and my wife actually planned this as part of our anniversary date, so we were really looking forward to it. We walked in and the store was completely empty. We said hi, but the girl working there just looked at us. We even had to ask if she worked there because she didn't say anything. She just gave us a weird look and nodded. It honestly made us feel like we weren't supposed to be there. We looked around anyway, but all of the machines were out of order, which was already disappointing. We figured we'd at least make a photo frame instead, but by that point we just felt so uncomfortable that we decided to leave. It's such a shame because the store is colorful and has fun music playing, but the customer service was the complete opposite. A simple "Hi, welcome!" would've gone a long way. Definitely not the experience we were expecting, especially for our first visit. We won't be coming back.
