While scrolling through Instagram I happened to see a post for $1 sale at a thrift store in…read moreAlhambra. I saved it and marked the date. Main Street Attraction is a nonprofit thrift run by volunteers. Proceeds from sales go to benefit local charities and fund college scholarships for women in the local area. When I arrived there were about 10 people lined up out front waiting for the store to open. All items were on sale for $1 with the exception of Men's Suits and a few high end designer pieces. Inside you will find a little of everything. Clothes, shoes, and accessories for men, women, & children as well as books and household items. Everything was nicely laid out. The store was clean & organized and all items were in good condition. The prices are very reasonable, which makes this store a great place to pick up items that you don't want to spend too much money on. I scored an adorable Nicole Miller bolero jacket as well as a few other items for $1 each. I'll definitely come back on a regular basis to see what's new. *2 hour metered street parking or lot in the back

Personally I didn't really like this place. We went on a Wednesday because theirs online hours said…read morethey were open-false start because they were actually closed. I had to suggest their actual hours so that their website reflected that. Everything is donated and appears to be fast fashion-think SHEIN and lots of polyester, everything goes to charity so there's that I suppose. The workers are entirely volunteer based which makes for a poor system, resulting in the service being almost too attentive with the staff immediately asking what you're looking for and approaching you the minute you pull something off to get a closer look. For example I had to remove some dresses to even be able to look at the dresses but one of the volunteers asks if I wanted her to hold them but then stood there waiting for me to be done which felt uncomfortable to say the least. Because everyone's a volunteer they're bored and try to be "too helpful" in that you can't look in peace and feel constantly watched. In addition the racks were packed way too tight, making it almost impossible to look at the clothes individually. Hard pass for me thank you.

This is a smaller-scaled thrift store than most but can have a gem or two when you least expect it…read more Since it's local, I frequent this thrift store and when you are in the know, then you have to scoop about special discount days (I.e. 50% off clothing) and when you sign up to their newsletter then you get monthly coupons. Don't forgot that it's final sale so use those coupons - which you can also find on their website, so just google it - and get a bigger deal. Have fun thrifting and donating to your local thrift store!

Nice place for thrifting. Close to home. Somewhat small-ish store but you may score some awesome…read morefinds! Place is clean and organized except that clothes are not arranged by size unfortunately so you'll be spending a lot of time going thru the racks (but that's part of the fun and also therapy for me)! Give it time though, you'll most likely find something. Has some housewares, bags, appliances. Prices are moderate, everything is going up these days, even second-hand items. Service has always been pleasant and accommodating. Note: On the evening we visited, the front entrance was locked although there were customers inside and it was still relatively early. We peered inside and caught the attention of a staff member who opened the door for us without any explanation. Do join their mailing list as they will send a monthly coupon and sale dates! Thank you Salvation Army for being a welcome part of our community!

I have been to this Savers many times in the past to drop off donations. The drop-off process is…read morevery easy as there is a drive-thru line. The are people staffed at the drive-thru line to help you unload. I find the process relatively efficient and helpful. Sometimes there was a short wait. After you donate, you get a paper receipt and a 20% coupon for up to $100 on purchases inside the store. I have never gone inside the store until yesterday. My daughter and her friend wanted to go thrifting. So we did. I ended up finding a pair of sandals/wedges for $10, looked completely unworn and a beautiful LV bag! Their selection of designer handbags is very limited. There was only one designer handbag which was the one I bought. The experience was surprisingly fun and gratifying; like finding treasure at a bargain price! I ended up using the 20% off coupon on my purchases and saved more. I also liked the recycling aspect where instead of buying something new, buying something pre-owned which in return helps the environment. I got to shop and felt good about my purchase. LOL. There is free parking on site right outside the store which made it pretty convenient.

Donation in Arcadia, Los Angeles, California…read more.. It was time to donate my hiking boots. I looked at them for the last time and remembered the hike when Gloria, Sathy, and I got caught in a flash flood from the melted snow from Mount Baldy. Yeah... It was freezing cold water that poured down the slopes. Gloria started floating downstream and Sathy jumped in to save her while I clung to some tree roots for dear life and watched a little boy get swept away in the current, too... Ah... fun times... Gotta make room for new memories and clean, updated shoes! Niki S. recommended this location of Savers because they have a drive-through donation system. Just roll your window down and they'll help you. However, when I got there, the customer in front of me had so many bags that I got out of my car and started unloading my stuff onto the pavement. The worker offered me a receipt - yes, please - and he took my items! Thank you for your good service to our community and our environment!

I made a list of thrift shops near our neighborhoods (I'm in DTLA, he's on Mt. Washington), and designed a route to take. Public Estrellas was our first stop--and it was the only stop he needed to make! Within minutes, he found a Columbia Snow Glide Interchange Jacket *and* a beautiful trench coat with a removable fleece lining--both in practically brand-new condition. Because the prices were so affordable, he got both! I wasn't in the market for anything, but looked through their dresses and tops, and was impressed with the quality, the pricing, and the impeccable organization of the store. Exceptionally well-lit, so clean, and the women at the front were delightful! I'll be returning for my own wardrobe additions soon. Because he wanted to look for a backpack, we headed to the next thrift store on our list--St. Vincent's--where we've both enjoyed shopping in the past. It's a very different experience, of course, but in going through the women's clothing, I was deeply disappointed by their pricing. A dress that cost $7 at Public Estrellas was $17.50 at St. Vincent's. It's no wonder that St. V's is overcrowded with inventory. If they priced their items like Public Estrellas, they'd have a better turnover. Viva Public Estrellas!
