Super cool Japanese Store! They have everything from imported food items, cleaning supplies, accessories, etc. I've been to many Asian spots and this one was easily one of my favorites. My only complaint is how expensive the various plushies/figurines/toys/etc were. They were heavily marked up and it was disappointing as I found a few cool things that I could get cheaper elsewhere. I'd love to go back if I find myself in Cali again.
After coming back from our very first trip to Japan just a few weeks ago, we already miss it so much. We were thrilled to discover Ebisu Life Store had opened in Alhambra because it instantly brought back the Don Quijote (Donki) shopping experience. The store is packed with Japanese snacks, collectibles, cosmetics, household items, and kitchenware, making it easy to browse for hours. I came home from Japan with two suitcases full of goodies, but now I can conveniently restock many of my favorite products. It's a little bit pricier (2-3x) than the usual (of course, the import fees), but it beats flying halfway across the world. lol. Oh! And don't forget to visit the arcade, gotcha and claw machines! Nice place to get Japanese goods like housewares, snacks, toiletries, and toys. The kids love the area where they can insert tokens for a prize. It's very hard to win the claw games, but they'll enjoy the ones where a random toy comes out.
I heard about Ebisu Life Store in Alhambra through many social media platforms and decided to check it out. This is such a fun place to explore if you love Japanese snacks, anime merchandise, and cute collectibles. I was surprised to find merchandise here that I saw in Japan last year! That's great that I can buy it locally now instead of flying to Japan to get it. The store is packed with a huge variety of toys and goodies including Sanrio plushies, blind boxes, anime figurines, Gundam models (lots to choose from with various prices), claw machine prizes, character keychains, and gacha collectibles. These gacha collectibles are directly from Bandai machines so you know it is the real thing. In Japan they were around $3 USD per toy but here they do it in tokens and the prices range from $9 - 12. Yikess! Too expensive for me to justify a purchase. They also have tons of Japanese snacks, drinks, skincare products, and stationery, so it feels like a mini trip to Japan. Parking was convenient with nearby free parking available, which made the visit much easier in busy Alhambra. The staff was friendly and the store was very clean and organized. Some makeup samples were avaible to try on, but I decided to pass on this as I am not sure if these areas or samples are frequently cleansed. Definitely a great spot for anime fans, collectors, or anyone looking for unique Japanese gifts and snacks. I will definitely be back to buy goodies for friends and family.
Ebisu Life Store is an all-in-one Japanese lifestyle store and it opened the first two stores in Flushing and Denver in 2021. Think of this store as a steroid version of Daiso and MINISO. They are currently rapidly expanding across 20+ states plus Washington, DC. As of April 2026, there is another location in Anaheim and another location in Rancho Cucamonga. [Parking]: There is a free indoor parking garage behind the store. [Merchandise]: Plushies, blind boxes, claw machines, anime-themed utensils / cups / mugs, body care products, clothing accessories, Japanese snacks, Gundam figures, etc. They place a strong focus on Sanrio characters. The plushies in the claw machines were not as impressive as their blind box selection, but it only costs 1 coin per play ($1 per coin). There is also a display of anime action figures near the store entrance. [Gift card]: Load $100 and get a $5 bonus. Load $300 and get a $20 bonus. Load $500 and get a $50 bonus. There is also an exclusive membership that earns 1 point for every $1 spent. Redeem 50 points for $1 in savings. [Conclusion]: I like Ebisu Life Store much better than Daiso and MINISO as I get the best of both worlds in one shop. I would not recommend trying the claw machines here as all 5 of my attempts ($1 per attempt) failed miserably.

I'm freaking out. The coolness factor of this store is stellar So much awesome stuff from Japan. My jaw dropped onto the floor. If you love Japanese snacks and culture, you've GOT TO check this place out. Just keep your shopping in check. Easy to drop a load of cash quickly. But you'll be smiling while you do. I miss Japan. My first visit to this store was great! I needed something to pass time and I saw this cute Japanese store. I was kindly greeted by the employees upon walking in. If you're a fan of all things cute and cool this is the store you must check out. As I checked out I got a very cute glass cup and was instructed to inspect it before buying. As I did so I found a strange mark and one of the employees swapped it out for me. I left the store with a very happy face .
The good: This was a nice refuge from the heat but also an amazing store full of snacks, toys, and Asian goodies (mostly Japanese). I got Hello Kitty crackers here, knock-off Oreos in caramel flavor and Pretz pretzel sticks (a toddler favorite). They sell beauty products as well. The bad: It's street parking mostly. Since we came during a festival, parking was blocked off in this area. The interesting: They had a huge arrangement of all the fruit-shaped ice cream flavors for $5.99 each. I think it's $8-10 for 4 if you get them at H-mart but they did have more exclusive flavors here than the average market. They had lots of anime figurines on display. I am not sure if they were for sale but you're not allowed to touch them (they should have a glass cover for them because I had to really ensure my toddlers didn't run toward there to touch all of them). They have a few locations in the US but they are also in Japan.

It's giving organized chaos in the best way. The prices are super reasonable, especially for imported goods, and everything feels thoughtfully curated instead of overwhelming. You can tell they really lean into that authentic Japanese convenience store vibe. Also, if you're into aesthetic little things (stickers, pens, packaging, snacks that are too cute to open)... yeah, you're gonna lose self-control in here. Staff is friendly, checkout is quick, and the whole store just has a fun, low-pressure vibe.

This place was awesome. It can also hurt your pocket because of all the goodies inside! So many different snacks and collectibles! We bought some modeling kits down the street and we didnt want to enter the location without letting them know we paid for it already and it didnt come from them. We flagged someone down and they gave each of our kits a "paid" sticker. I will be back.
This is a really cool store. It has everything Japanese - from alcohol to all kinds of different drinks (cold and room temperature), cookies, chips, ice cream, and any unusual flavor that you could think of. They also carry toys, plushies, stuffed animals, stationery, hygiene items & much more. The store is a very good size, very clean, and well organized. You could get lost in there for a little bit. If you like Japanese snacks or anime, I would highly recommend this place. They have a wide variety of snacks from Japan (kitkats, Pocky, even Shin-Chan's favorite snack!) as well as everyday products like cosmetics, skincare items, household goods, and kitchenware. In addition, they have a claw machine section around the corner. Prices are mixed. Some items are reasonably priced, while others are quite expensive. However, they do offer some really good deals on items with shorter expiration dates. The store is clean and well-organized. There is also a parking structure right next to the building and a lot of street parking around the area. read more

My son recommended that I visit this store to look for matcha Kit Kats, and I'm glad I did. I finally found them after searching for a long time. They're not exactly like the ones from Japan, but they are quite similar, and I really enjoyed them. My first impression of the store was excellent. The space is immaculately clean, has a pleasant scent, and is exceptionally well-organized. Although many of the products are labeled in Japanese, making them difficult for me to understand, I still appreciated browsing the aisles because of how tidy and inviting the environment is. The customer service was polite and courteous, and even the shopping bags they provide are charming and thoughtfully designed. This place had me in awe of all the crazy imported items to snack on from Asia. Where can you ever find century old egg flavored potato chips? Or peach flavored Fanta!? They have tons of mystery boxes for those who are searching and beauty products that were all in a foreign language. If you spend 100 bucks with is quite easy.. you get 5 bucks VIP dollars. This place is super clean and has a surprising amount of goodies at really fair prices. We mainly came for the snacks, and they were definitely worth it for what you pay--great variety and good quality without breaking the bank. The only downside is the parking situation. There's no dedicated lot, so it's street parking only, which can be a bit of a hassle depending on the time of day. On the bright side, they give you a free, cute reusable bag with your purchase, which is such a nice touch. Overall, a solid spot to check out if you're in the area! read more
This place is like an upscale Daiso highlighting Anime merchandise. There is an area designated for arcade claw machines within the store. Popular among high schoolers and junior high crowd. Available are unique Japanese snacks, drinks, candies that are similar things you can find at most Asian grocery stores. Overall, I can see why people think this store is fun and interesting. Japanese products are interesting and cool! However, Ebisu Life Store is overpriced or pricey in my opinion. For me, there are other places in Los Angeles specifically in Little Tokyo or Gardena area where one can find similar stuff at a better value. Otherwise, ELS is a-okay. read more
Located off W Main St. in Alhambra. Parking can be tough is this area is mainly street parking there are some parking garages but check the signs and area as well as the street parking as well. This place is cool though it has anime stuff and toys, an arcade with claw machines, snacks like a convenience store , beauty supplies, cooking stuff and stationary. I mean to me it's definitely a store or shop you'll see in Japan. Overall a great store lots to see and buy lol. read more

4.5 Stars I saw someone post a video of this place in Instagram and wanted to check it out! It actually looks bigger in the video, but it's ok! It's easy to go around. Parking was easy. There's a parking structure beside the building. The store looks so organize and neat. You can see a section with all the vending machines. One coin costs $1.00. There are a lot of unique items that I saw here like the Starbucks instant powdered drinks, KitKats, mini figurines, etc. There are also some displays (for photo ops) like Pikachu, Doraemon, the guys from Dragonball Z, etc. Great customer service too! The cashier was nice and helpful. After paying he put our merchandise in a cute reusable bag. :) read more

I go to a lot of different hobby store and this store has a variety of blind boxes, toys, claw machines and other Japan beauty, household, and care accessories. They also have snacks and drinks near the front of the store. This store is a bit pricy in comparison to some of the relatively small style like stores such as Daiso and Miniso. It's pretty big as you can walk around the store and get a feel and see if there's anything you need! TIP: There's free 2 hour parking and it's near 85 Bakery! There's also restrooms in the store! read more
My friend and girlfriend were hanging out in downtown Alhambra and I was like we have to go to this store! There's a lot of Japanese snacks here, anime figurines, claw machines , blind boxes, drinks, liquor, and much more! They had a special promotion here that if you spend a certain amount of money, I believe it was at least $60 worth you get to draw from a raffle. We didn't notice until the cashier told us. It was hilarious because we got some prizes where we decided not to get. Claw machines were at least 2+ tokens to play and the gashapons started at 7+. One token = $1. Cash only to get tokens. There are restrooms by the claw machines. If you're looking for a cute gift spot and they like Japanese stuff, I suggest coming here. There's plenty of street and indoor parking. read more

The perfect little luxury trip to Japan right in Alhambra! Spotted this place on my IG feed and couldn't resist. Walking in, you're greeted with a fun sale table with some great deals, which is a nice touch. The main store is filled with the most charming Japanese items, though I did notice some Daiso goods sprinkled in with a higher price tag. It's a bit of a splurge, but honestly, it's a small price to pay for that feeling of being in Japan without having to fly there. A true "touch-and-go" experience - just get what you need and be on your way (if you have the willpower!). read more

This store has been popping up on my feed pretty frequently and I finally got the chance to visit. Unfortunately, I don't really think this place is worth the visit. The store carries a variety of things like snacks, skincare/beauty, hobby collectibles, and a small arcade area. While it all looks great, it's overpriced. The discounted items aren't really cheap either. I'll admit that it was pretty cool to at least look around, but I'd find these items at a better price at DuoDuo or ResCo. On a positive note, they have a parking garage that leads to the entrance. Super convenient! read more
My husband found this place on Instagram and we decided to check it out today. It was fairly easy to find and had plenty of parking. It seems to have recently opened as some of the aisles are still being stocked up but you can tell they're taking their time to organize all the products really nicely. We were hoping to find some of the viral fruit ice creams but had no luck although they had some interesting snacks I had never seen before. This store has a variety of home products, cosmetics and skincare, snacks, beverages, toys, stationary, baby products and just random, unique, and fun finds. They didn't have a large food section like H Mart, but they had plenty of unique sweets and a large selection of beverages, alcoholic and non-alcoholic (coffee, soda, etc.). They also have an area of toy vending machines in one corner of the store. Overall, Ebisu is a pretty fun store worth checking out if you're into fun anime, Sanrio, hello kitty, etc. inspired finds and unique Japanese snacks and treats. read more
