To get there might be kind of unusual, while there is a decent sized parking lot the location of this store is literally at corner, so you will have to walk out of the parking lot to the corner. I don't think there is any shortcut so you would have to kind of come out and get onto the sidewalk to get to the store. Others than how it is oddly located, the store itself is pretty neat and cute. They have a good amount of variety. I went there to check on Chiikawa which my nieces are into and there was some. read more

Paper Cola is basically Disneyland for anime addicts, minus the roller coasters and plus a ton of anime posters, figures, cards, and stationery that will make your wallet cry tears of joy and despair simultaneously!! Imagine walking into a room where Sailor Moon and Goku are your personal shoppers. They were slinging Pokémon cards for 25 cents... a price so low, even Team Rocket would reconsider a life of crime!! And the real MVP? Sonny Angels for $14! That's $10 cheaper than Amazon, which basically makes you a financial genius for buying cute little cherubs in fruit hats. You're not shopping; you're investing... in serotonin!! Parking here is tighter than Levi's on leg day. It's wedged at the corner of Las Tunas & Mission, where the only available spot might be in your imagination!! Bring your parallel parking A-game... or a teleportation device. Highly recommend for anime lovers!! read more

Paper Cola - A Chiikawa lovers dream!! - Toy Stores Near Me - San Gabriel, California

A wide variety of lil trinkets and goods, also the most reasonable prices for Smiskis and Sonny Angels that I've ever seen!!

First time visiting here and it's such a hidden gem. Owner was super nice and they have a great selection of cute gachas and blind boxes. Definitely will come here again!! read more

They have so many cool trinkets! They have bandai gashapon machines, sanrio merchandise, mofusand, sonny angels, smiskis, and so much more. Something I do appreciate about their store is that they limit the amount of (insert popular product here) you can buy per person. The workers are super friendly and are genuinely interested in the products they sell, which is also super cool! The prices are pretty good/alright, as a lot of the items are exclusive or hard to find, but in the end fair imo Parking is difficult as always, but as long as you're open to walking a bit, you'll be alright read more

~ - * THEY SELL BLIND BOXES * - ~ I LOVE this place!! Their pricing is so super reasonable and they are always stocked. The workers here are so sweet and social. I bought some smiski and some mofusand things. read more

Great selection of mobile/video game merchandise, and anime ofc. I was eyeing a lot of the Twisted Wonderland merchandise, and will be back to see if they have the Ruggie items I want. read more

I've been to this place many times and I never leave without buying anything! However I am writing this review today because of my most recent interaction w them. I DMed them on Instagram last night requesting them to find a specific blind box keychain if they went to Japan again. They replied the next day and found a listing online of the specific ones I wanted from the blind box and ordered it for me!!!! I didn't even know they did that!!!! To whoever I was chatting w on IG: thank you so much for your help and effort in finding those keychains for me :))))) read more

Such an awesome place!!! I've been here a few times to look for hololive things. They're inventory is awesome and really unique. Not your typical anime store because they actually have the raffle games and unique items straight from Japan. Like a ACNH kitchen timer or Pokémon cups. The people who work there are the best too. So friendly and knowledgeable. You can tell they just really love all things anime. Always gunna stop by when I'm in the area! read more

Paper Cola - Raffle games - Toy Stores Near Me - San Gabriel, California

They also have many special Sanrio goods that will fit a large selection of audience. This is the best place to look for a special gifts and stationery for friends and kids. I don't know all the various characters but they have cute plush, gundams, blind boxes, various figures, wall scrolls and artbooks. Just go visit yourself haha read more

You cannot imagine the joy I had when I ran into their booth at a con & found out they were opening a shop! I LOVED Desunation when it still existed. One of my top anime shops for sure so I was really sad when they closed. Paper Cola is run by the same kind, helpful owners & if you've read my review for Desunation ages ago, then you'll know how much I adore the shop. If it's not obvious to the normies and casuals out there, I am a HUGE hopeless Fate/Type Moon fan and Paper Cola is one of the few shops that stock a lot of the kuji, limited release items from events in Japan, and merch that's beyond what you usually see. They are the ONLY store where I have gotten FGO art books without pre-ordering or arranging something in advance. With FGO becoming somewhat less popular and common at cons & amongst cosplayers, I'm so happy that I can rely on Paper Cola in satisfying my crippling addiction. Alright for those who are NOT Fate fans, I can guarantee to you this is a one of a kind anime store compared to what's out there in SoCal (don't believe me ? I do run a SoCal anime adventures & food panel at cons !). They have a bunch of Hololive & Vtuber goods, Twisted Wonderland, Genshin Impact, JJK, etc and the series you also see everywhere (Demon Slayer, MHA, SAO, DBZ, Naruto, etc.). There's stationery and cute character merchandise of Sanrio and San-x characters at very reasonable prices (eyeing that $30 Rilakkuma watch). There's also some gacha blind box figures, Pokémon cards & merchandise too. Literally something for everyone ! They also have kuji for several series if you wanna try your luck inside the store. While I was there, they were playing lots of the Vtuber music videos on their TVs as well. I went during their grand opening and received a small gift (so generous!) and every $20 would earn you a raffle ticket for raffles every hour (WHICH I WON BOTH THE REGULAR AND GRAND PRIZE!! Being a somewhat IRL dolphin pays off I suppose). They also have a Fivestars point system where each dollar spent is a point! Nice! I AM 100% COMING BACK & BEING A REPEAT CUSTOMER. I'm still eyeing that Rozen Maiden and Garden of Sinners small figure set and Tsukihime wall scrolls & I'm looking forward to more imported FGO art books and other Type Moon goods. Also random aside, parking can get disgustingly fisted so I had to park at a public lot a block down but if you're lucky you can get nearby plaza or street parking ! read more

visited this cute lil trinket & hobby shop on the intersection of w las tunas dr & s mission drive! its adjacent to the paris baguette/bonchon plaza, but not in the same plaza. parking: they have a tinyyyyy lot for the business with like 3-4 spots service: the employees seem passionate about their job & the selection they carry thus making them great. theyre friendly and knowledgeable selection: is diverse! from your favorite animes/mangas/studio ghibli/sanrio/pokemon, they have it all. things like plushies, keychains, posters, and knick knacks. theyre also authorized (sonny angel dealers btw) value: overall things are prettttty pricey here, so keep this in mine. its a nice place to get a nicer gift for someone who loves all of this cute stuff tho :) overall: 5/5 only note to have is that the parking is limited & theyre a little more pricey than normal read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE PAPERCOLA! The service is amazing and they truly do love their customers and guests! The selection is ALWAYS updated on their Instagram page and the value IS GREAT here! For smiskis it's only $11 compared to a bunch of other vendors upcharging the price! They truly do care about the community with the local artist board and continuously get items for their customers! PLEASE check them out and they have a partnership with Bubble Republic! If you purchase an item, the receipt gives you access to a 10% off Bubble Republic discount! :,)) and if you see this, tell them that Britney sent you hehe read more

Hello My Yelpies, First thing first, WHAT A CUTE STORE!!! Let me start off by sharing the parking situation. Parking here is quite convenient. There's plenty of parking at the back plaza or street parking if you prefer. I recently pick up a new habit that I'm not too proud of. My new addiction to Sonny Angels and Smiskis. I was so happy to have found PaperCola. They have a huge variety like anime, figures, cute collectibles, stationeries to kujis. The workers are super friendly and helpful. Everything is reasonably priced for something you can have in hand right away. I definitely will come back again. P.S. they have a cute pet beetle. read more

Love Paper Cola's selection of Japanese knick knacks such as blind boxes, plushies, stationary, and adorable figurines. Prices have become more reasonable lately and they do a lot of raffles and sales on their anniversary. The owners are very friendly and helpful in person and through their IG too! Get some Bopo drinks before or after your visit to Paper Cola. read more

I really enjoy the selections at Paper Cola, especially their Gachas and Smiskis! The owners are friendly and gave me a super helpful tip to follow their Instagram to get updates on their Smiski restocks. I think it's unique how they allow customers to trade their Smiskis with the ones in their showcases as long as they are not dupes and damaged. I also really appreciate the limit for each customer so I have a fair chance to get some. It's a cute little spot to bring friends and family who love adorable things and/or anime! read more

Sometimes when my husband and I venture to different cities we search for anime shops. And it just happened that we were near this little gem. My husband is a Gundam fan. And because we went during his birthday week and he had been such a great partner while my foot was healing, I decided to go bankrupt and got him two kits that bugged his eyes out. Okay. Not bankrupt, but it was still...$200? Which apparently was a good deal here in the states! Also, these weren't just ANY Gundam merch - They were special - Like...You had to win a special ticket in Japan to even shop for these kits. So of course he had to have it. I highly recommend you come here if you're a Gundam fan and want to see some unique kits that you may not be able to find at your local store. The shop has all kinds of trinkets, models, pens, notebooks, blind boxes, posters, lanyards, other stationary, models, Pokemon, Sanrio, and more that I can't remember. Overall, I think this store is priced well and they have a lot of variety. If I'm in the area again I'd definitely check this place out. They are located caddy corner to Bopomofo Cafe. Parking can be difficult as they are in an area with a lot of restaurants, but there's parking in the Bobomofo lot, in front of El Pollo Loco, and there's a Bank parking lot not too far away. I didn't take any pictures because I was too shy to ask lol! read more

Really enjoy visiting this place. The owners are helpful and very friendly. There is a wide variety of goods and they are reasonably priced. They have a gachapon machine inside, blind boxes, are an official retailer for sonny angels/smiskis, hololive, and have REAL licensed items. A different store in the alhambra area sells fake unlicensed goods. Will be coming back to support this local business! read more

My daughter is heavily into anime and since we were in the area she wanted to stop by. The staff are very friendly, and nice. Very cute little store with a lot of unique items. My daughter was able to find merch of some of her favorite characters. It has a very small parking area, but you can always find parking along the street. read more

Paper Cola is a local gem for anime/japanese paraphernalia fans! I was pleasantly surprised by how fairly priced their items were. I am an avid smiski fan and besides having a great variety of smiskis to choose from, they are priced much more affordably compared to other similar stores. Beyond that, their staff is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this place for buying fun anime/japanese items. Can't wait to go back :) read more

Such a lovely knickknack shop with an even kinder staff! I usually go there for my Smiski fix because their prices are usually around retail value (~$12.99). They typically have most of the series available, and they offer trades in case you get a duplicate! If you sign up for their rewards program, sometimes you might get coupons, so it's always worth your time to stop by if you're in the area. :) read more

My favorite store to come and buy authentic Sonny angels for good prices! The owners/ workers are always so nice.

The employees are always nice whenever I come in. The store is kept nice and neat. It's embarrassing that someone else here decides to leave a 1-star review just because they got caught cheating to get the ones they want from the blind boxes. The prices are fair especially since they have to import everything from Japan and shipping is not cheap! read more

The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful to me each time I visit! When some of my friends visit town, I usually always recommend or bring them to paper cola They also choose to carry some really nice unique and niche items/kuji vs other anime stores that definitely keep me coming back read more

Walked in after lunch with my girlfriend in Mission View Plaza (about a 5 minute walk) into Paper Cola and was amazed at how much stuff was packed into such a small shop! The staff were very informative and attentive! I believe her name was Crystal, very friendly and helpful. Ended up buying more than initially planned but don't regret it! They have a bunch of Chinese Pokemon cards which is what caught our attention but they also have a wide variety of cute blind boxes as well. Will definitely be visiting again soon! read more

Paper Cola is a small corner store that has a variety of different anime figures, Sanrio items, and most importantly SMISKIs and Sonny Angels!!! The value for all of the items were okay, and the SMISKIs and Sonny Angels were a reasonable price as well. The service is great too and the employees were very welcoming and friendly. read more

Really cool anime shop with lots of great anime merch and niche collectibles from Japan that's hard to find most elsewhere! They seem to have a rotating collection of stuff so best to follow them in Instagram to keep up with new things they get in. Some things will sell out really fast! I like the cute vibe of the store. It's bright and well decorated. They've got stuff from doujin/art books, prints, gashapon, small gunpla section, trading card games, plush, acrylics, keychains, figures and so much more! It's fun to stop by every so often, walk around, and just see what all new they have. The owners are super nice and happy to chat about anime, and are knowledgeable about their merch and various related stuff! Glad to have Paper Cola around for my local otaku needs! read more

I don't write reviews on here often, but I wanted to take some time to rave about how awesome this store is! I come here quite often and I have to say that this store is a MUST if you are an anime fan. This one is really unique compared to other anime stores in the area. They carry merch you won't typically see outside of Japan from lines like Hololive (lots of it!), Natsume Yuujinchou, Cardcaptor Sakura, Detective Conan, Fate, Bocchi The Rock, and more! What's more, the prices are very fair considering the selection and online availability of certain items. The most unique part about the store to me is that they have doujinshi fan art books (ranging from VTubers, JJK, Railgun, Naruto, etc) imported straight from Japan and even from Comiket from when it was happening. Some of these are really hard to buy if you're not in Japan, so it's really awesome to see the selection here! What's more, the owners are extremely friendly and knowledgeable about a lot of their items and series they carry. They rotate their items quite often, so they post their new items daily on their Instagram stories @papercola_shop. Really helpful to see which items they have up next! read more
