Great staff. Went in because I had a pack I wasn't sure about and they help with clarification. They have a huge selection of packs, booster bundles, and etbs. I'm new to card collecting but they were really helpful here.

Everyone here is nice. I called on Christmas Eve to see if they had any one piece boxes. They were fast and answered my questions. Another time, they were almost closing, and again, they were nice and didn't feel rushed.

    | LOCATION + PARKING | Even with it being a busy and bustling Saturday morning, there was still (free) parking to be found both in the small lot located behind the building and on the surrounding streets. The location is easy to find -just look for howling rays and it's off to the left of that lol. | SELECTION | After having been to a few card shops, I can say CoreTCG is easily one of the best shops if not the best. The selection for Pokemon, MTG, One Piece, Yugioh (and a couple others I'm not sure of the names) is great! I was so shocked to see so many options lol. After getting into playing Pokemon TCG last month, I've had a lot of trouble finding cards, packs, ETBs & etc out in the wild. But walked in and immediately found everything I was looking for (which was both good and bad). | STAFF & SERVICE | There were a lot of people when my mini and I went in but we were asked by multiple different staff members if we needed anything. I really appreciated that because you could definitely tell the two of us were in need of help haha. Daniel was especially great! He was so helpful and patient while we asked a bajillion questions. He alone is honestly worth going back to CoreTCG lol. My mini was a little shy in the atmosphere (they were hosting tournaments/games so it was crowded. But Daniel made her feel just as important as everyone else there. We originally went in to pick up an online order I placed a few hours before they opened. Even though it's clearly stated on the website it's usually a 24 hour processing time, they were soooo nice and super expedited my wait time. They did it (46 cards) within 10-15mins! I was so grateful since I'm overly eager to build my decks lol. Talk about A+ service! | HIGHLIGHTS | Daniel & Jake -so friendly and welcoming that we went back twice in the same day LOLOL! The great selection & the prices! No crazy price gouging here!

The owner was so sweet, making sure he was able to give the local card community a chance to get to open Journey Together. He was selling them at MSRP! The man is a gem, this is my go to shop now. Prices are very fair, especially in the pokemon market right now that is so rare. There are plenty of tables to open packs and play or just hang out. It's very community friendly the staff are so helpful and never make me feel intimidated to ask questions. The vibes give

Staff here is great. They're friendly and very informative which is always a nice sight to see for newcomers. In the back, you'll find many tables where people visit to play all types of games. Ranging from board games, cards, DnD, and list goes on. Best part is that you can try all types of games for free. My wife and I visited with some friends and we had such a wonderful time playing board games. Time flew by so fast as we were all having fun. I'd say the tables could use some cleaning but very spacious overall. Parking is out in the back but it's pretty limited. Street parking is also available but watch out for time slots. Overall, very happy about Odyssey Games, very much a must visit spot if you love board games. Place can get packed as you'll often find plenty of people here. Love to visit again soon to try new board games.

A few weeks ago I was looking to get some games to play with my family. My sister gave me 3 recommendations (Ito, Things in Rings, Hot Streak). I walked in and, after taking a few rounds through the densely stocked rows and shelves, and, not finding any of them, asked for help. They had two of the games so I got them. We've played Things with Rings (basically figuring out Venn diagram categories) several times at family game night and are starting to get the hang of it. It's a large shop (especially for games and figurines), and they host events too. Definitely a fun place to browse and get new games.

His enthusiasm was genuine, and it made the whole experience fun and welcoming, never overwhelming for complete beginners like us. The prices are very reasonable, which is a huge plus when you're testing out a new hobby with your kid. We both walked out with our own kits, and I have to say, I'm just as hooked as my son! Building these models has been a surprisingly relaxing and rewarding experience, and I'm already looking forward to tackling more complex builds and refining them. I'm planning to return soon to pick up a few more sets for Christmas gifts and to expand my own collection. Located on the corner of Main Street and Garfield Ave, it is a great place to visit while going for a stroll in the heart of downtown Alhambra. Plenty of great eateries and cinemas in the vicinity as well. A free parking garage is conveniently accessible right behind the shop, in addition to street parking. Although the shop is small, they were able to feature hundreds of items without it being overwhelming. As a newbie to the current line of collectibles, Top Canvas serves as a great introduction to the new trend. As I walked in, a young woman politely greeted me and offered me assistance. Upon request, she promptly directed me to the Mofusand plushies and a wall of keychains. She took down the plushies from the shelves, so I could take a good look at all of them. And then, I spotted one very adorable Hello Kitty plushie holding a strawberry which totally makes a great Valentine's Day gift. For less than twenty bucks, I quickly secured my choice and went on to explore the rest of the shop. The average prices range from $9.99 to $29.99, so you can build up your collections without breaking the bank. Top Canvas is a great place for buying gifts on a budget, as they offer so many cute things for under $20. I also purchased 2 Lokiki blind box plushies as gifts. The gift recipient seems to love it, because it's always fun to open up a blind box. She totally adores her Lokiki plushie. Without a doubt, the highlight of my visit is the wall of Mofusand keychains! At $9.99 each, big or small, these are just too darn cute to pass up. I want them all!! Some of the more expensive and fragile collectibles are showcased behind glass. Great for avid collectors!! Tired of shopping on Amazon like me?? A pretty good reproduction of an original Gauguin that happens to be in a nearby Pasadena art museum. Well, we paid a visit to Hobby Lobby, as we were picking up some things from nearby Whole Foods. The store occupies Sear's old location on Foothill. It's a huge place and designed to get you to walk around for things as signage isn't plentiful or helpful. Shelves are high so unless you are very tall you need to search around, guess they took that cue from Costco, it works if you aren't in a hurry. We were happy to find they had a framing department and also a fabric area, which, since the sad closing of JoAnne's, I was glad to see for the ghost of my mother who enjoyed sewing. I'm focusing on the Framing department and the friendly efficient gentleman in charge of that department, his name is Theo. He was helpful and friendly from the start. Their framing prices are posted as 50% off, which sounded great, but I guess the original prices need to be considered before seeing this as a good deal. Well, we checked on one style which had always been our original style we felt appropriate for this art work. We visited Tahiti a couple of years ago and and saw some Gaugain copies framed in a similar style, it works very well, so we inquired as to cost and estimated the size as we didn't have the painting with us. It was very reasonable compared to the frame shops we have checked over the decades, yes, decades! It was a very fair price, not knowing the quality of the work was something to consider, but Theo was very efficient and knew his products and was very meticulous. We could tell we were in very good hands. We were quoted, less the 50%, a little under $100 before tax. A very fair price. We were given a "finish by date", and 5 days before that date I gave a call to check on status, I was told it would be done in a couple of days. I was surprised and happy to receive a message later that day from Theo that our framing job was finished and available for pick up. We got over there that evening and Though Theo was gone then, a nice young lady got our finished product for us. It looked very nice. She walked us and the painting up to the lone cashier, as that is their policy, and we waited in line to pay. They did open another register as the line was about 6 people deep. I'm not going to get into their company politics, but over all it was a positive experience, especially thanks to Theo and his friendly, knowledgeable service and framing skill. Thanks Theo!

One of the employees was helpful enough to place the cards I selected at the front while I continued looking around, which I appreciated. From what I observed, pricing varied depending on the item. Some cards were fairly priced, some below market, and others above market value. One particular vintage moderately played card was listed at $16.77, while recent comparable sales on TCGPlayer appeared to average closer to the $13-15 range. Since I was purchasing multiple items and understood that older vintage cards may not move as quickly as modern inventory, I politely asked if they would consider a flat $15 price on the card. Unfortunately, the interaction that followed left a negative impression. The owner (or manager) seemed unwilling to negotiate, with his first words being "oh, so you want a break." Which came across as unnecessarily hostile over what amounted to a relatively small discount request. I completely understand that local stores have operating costs and are free to price inventory however they choose, but I felt the response lacked professionalism and customer courtesy. Because of that interaction, I decided not to complete my purchase and instead visited CoreTCG in Pasadena afterward, where I had a much more positive experience. The staff there were knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming, and I ultimately spent far more than I originally planned.
