Awesome card shop with a great selection of cards and fair prices! They carry a nice variety of games, so whether you're into Pokemon, Magic The Gathering, One Piece, Yugioh, or other card games, there's something for everyone. The shop itself is clean, organized, and has a really welcoming atmosphere. I especially want to give a shoutout to Ann, who was incredibly friendly and helpful. She made the whole experience even better and was happy to help with any questions I had. She also the store's streamer and goes live every Monday-Friday. One thing I personally like is even when I'm busy, I can always hop on their stream to hang out, chat with everyone and rip some packs! It's a really fun way to stay involved with the shop and the hobby even when I can't be there in person. Very positive experience. A guy at the front named Justin gives great customer service providing us with a great experience and also greeted us when we walked in. A couple other workers there too if I remember correctly are named Ben and Adrian they eased up the tension and also gave great customer service providing us with a very positive atmosphere. There was a lot of heat in the singles collection and a lot of sealed product to choose from. The pricing I would say is fair as everything is according to market price through the use of tcg player. I found out about ProjectCCG through their streamer Ann! At ProjectCCG, there's a variety of product not just TCG but accessories as well! Ann is always so knowledgeable on what stock she has on her stream and is always as helpful as she can be. They have a nice queue system for trading in your cards and staff is friendly. Huge selection of bulk to sort through if you want to take a seat and browse. My most recent experience was less than stellar. While it is nice that they have upgraded and expanded both their space and the products they carry (more bulk bins, more tcgs, etc), they are far more One Piece-heavy and appeal to "higher end collectors". They probably would take you more seriously if you're a guy looking like you'll drop your paycheck on product or one that would take 20+ minutes sorting out a trade. On their busy days, I would not recommend casual collectors to come as they will not even acknowledge you. Based on that, I decided to visit the shop in person and the other employees there were extremely friendly and willing to help you find exactly what you need. ProjectCCG is a trading card store in Alhambra. There's limited street parking. It's near plazas with plenty of restaurants/stores - I parked at one of the nearby plaza lots and walked over. One of the most exciting things in the store is the rare and graded Pokémon card wall display. Some are around $20-$50, others are in the hundreds price range. I personally loved seeing all the grade 10 full arts and the early edition cards. There's also many boxes of regular Pokémon cards to look through. It's $1 for 10 cards. They also havedisplays of non graded full arts and rare cards for sale, ranging from $1-$20 per card (you'd ask the staff for exact pricing). If you are looking for ONE PIECE booster boxes of any kind from EBs or OPs; and Started Decks Boxes. This place has none. Don't waste your time and gas money coming here. They are limited in cards and don't really have much to offer other than SRs Cards; but, those are also limited as well and a bit pricey than average SR cards. Shelf's that nearly always empty and never gets a restock is never good. Yes it does appear that Scalpers have dried out this place out as they don't have a limit on how much a person can take. Also, I do believe that many working there are holding product for these scalpers as they glass displays and shelves are nearly empty. On a positive note, area is friendly and has plenty of tables where people and TCG players can sit, play and interact with each other. Been here a few times before, and all times I could say the staff has never been attentive until you are basically hovering over the counter. I literally was next in line and the worker, immediately gets on his phone for a good minute, while I'm standing RIGHT there. Today was pretty much the last time I'll be coming here due to them posting an Instagram story stating (1) OP-16 booster box per customer, and I see someone, more than likely a friend or regular, chatting it up with the people behind the counter, holding (2) OP-16 booster boxes with (1) on the sitting on the counter in front of him. Came on a whim and the place was packed. They easily had 4 people behind the table to help people out with stuff. I was helped by two guys. One that showed me some Pokemon cards and the other for questions I had about Yu-gi-oh! cards. Everyone was pretty nice and very informative. They didn't belittle or make fun of me for being a novice on cards. They were just excited to use their knowledge and answer my questions! Prices of cards here varies. Store manager Justin lost his cool when i criticized his attitude after it being a constant consistent interaction said "he wants to punch me in the fucking face" cause i said he wasn't as chill as everyone else there, made me wonder when was the last time he got punched in the face. immediately went to saying im banned started yelling and screaming all cause he couldn't take my remark of criticism instead of accountability of his own attitude and continued to prove my point, i only brought it up because i was urked that i waited there from 11am when you guys opened till 2pm to trade in for cash and got greeted with the same attitude 4 hours later. Answering questions like the customer isn't articulate, short stiff answers super unwelcoming almost like he didn't want to help or do anything or even be there at all. In the same position just sitting from when i had first walked in at 11am. And the first thing he said when i walked up the the clipboard after i had returned at 2pm was "ITS A 2 HOUR WAIT" almost trying to shoo me away and after i simply asked if he was looking or pricing any big collections in that current moment in time just so i couldve gaged my wait time, he answered like he didnt even hear my question at all and said "IM NOT LOOKING AT ANY CARDS FOR CASH RIGHT NOW UNTIL THE CASH GETS HERE AND WERE ONLY TAKING CERTAIN MTG CARDS FOR CASH" in the most disrespectful condescending tone so when i criticized him for that he insecurely made a whole scene yelling and shaking saying he wanted to punch me in the face and im banned. Felt super bad since i really enjoy buying and selling my cards here but all i can say is johnnny and johnathan rule and have always been cool and treated me with respect although i would like to continue doing business here i don't think i can bring myself to have another run in with that store manager. Used to come here alot, it's so crowded in here, not a bad thing. They got so much selections, the stores layout changed. They got s bunch of people at the counters to help and buy from you. Service is good. They help out when they can, usually will honor the line of who they see came first. Carlo was incredibly patient with me when I was choosing singles to trade for. He was very transparent about the condition of each card, even inspecting them and putting them in penny sleeves. No idea where the line is, employees pass you by not saying a word or letting you know how long it'll be until someone, if any one at all, will get to you. Been more than 2 times I go in and just end up waiting at the card case to the point where I just leave empty handed. Been here a few times and each time the customer service is terrible, no greeting each time I went and it wasn't busy I have gone during the week and there's plenty of workers just standing around talking, I have stood there in front of them each time waiting with no acknowledgment towards me, the last time I went a younger Asian guy had terrible attitude when I asked for help after standing around waiting for a while, I walked away from him and waited for someone else to come by, the bigger white dude was the complete opposite I asked him to get a card out for me and he was friendly so he's the reason I moved it up from 1 star to 2 and even bought the cards I bought that day but overall each time it hasn't felt like a welcoming place and my experience with most of the guys have made me feel like they are stuck up and act like they don't need any business so I hope that can be changed because being friendly and being interactive is definitely part of this type of business. Finally got a chance to check out this shop and was not disappointed. This is one of the bigger card shops in the SGV area with all TCG's available. Lots of sealed product, singles, and slabs available on the shelves. I came in when it was not too busy during a weekday and was helped by Derrick. Picked out a handful of OP singles and a slab after making a nice deal. Will definitely be back, amazing service, lots of structure parking available, just know it can get very busy during peak hours due to this shops location. read more

I called the manager out for RESEALED packs + fingerprints inside and he got defensive. They have a good Pokemon singles selection that is mostly market price. Their trade in percentage is at 75% and 25cents for ex and V cards. I traded in $40 worth of cards for a prismatic minitin and $10 cash on top. It's a good thing I opened it in the store because the minitin was clearly resealed. I have video evidence of myself opening it from the plastic wrapping. There were fingerprints inside the back of the tin and the second pack I opened (after doing the card trick to put the energy in front) had the last three cards as a 1. pokeball amarys 2. reverse holo carmine 3. reverse holo goldeen, when it should be a 1. reverse/pokeball 2. reverse/masterball/sir 3. holo/trainer. Reverse holo is never in the last spot. Having opened over 100 prismatic packs I would think that this could be a factory error if there were not fingerprints inside the tin. I pointed this out to the manager and instead of being surprised that there was such an error and the possibility of resealed product, he got super defensive and angry enough that he opened two more minitins in front of me to prove a point. Either he is angry his distributor is scamming him or he is in on the scam and I called him out. I kept reassuring that I wasn't blaming him, I was blaming his supplier. I did have to ask for a refund because they were reluctant in giving me any compensation. His reputation selling resealed products is on the line. One of the biggest card shops in the SGV area. Conveniently walking distance from Three Fields Coffee (try their Matcha! Also love the black sesame cold foam latte), Chicha San Chen (best tea), 7 Leaves Cafe (Vietnamese House Coffee) and all the good food in the area. I got into Pokemon cards recently and it feels like a nice treat to just come in and oogle at all the cards in display. And maybe buy a few trying to refrain from dropping a few hundred dollars which inevitably happens in the hobby. read more

Sadly just not worth it to come here anymore. Just last year I came across this shop for Pokemon cards and it was great. When Stellar Crown launched, I got fantastic deals on the ETB and Booster Box. Legit below retail prices for pre-ordering them. Surging Sparks was also fine, I bought a couple ETBs from them with no issue. But once Prismatic Evolutions hit, and ever since, their prices have skyrocketed. Now it's all about greed. Everything is at top market price or higher, even though they are surely getting some of this stuff wholesale. It makes me sad. I can't just go in and buy sealed cards for retail price, instead I'm staring at $300+ price tags. I honestly don't know how they can sit there with straight faces and tell you the price for some of this stuff. I fully understand that rare singles are going to be pricey... But sealed new release stuff? Why? Because the market demand is high? This is not how you keep customers. I live walking distance from this place and am an avid Pokemon TCG collector and now I'm never going back there. That's pretty telling of how bad it's gotten. Also... staff are a lot of immature younger guys who don't have good customer service. There's no structure to a line at the register... people are just all sort of hovering around. I don't know when I'm supposed to go up to pay for stuff because I'm afraid the staff is in the middle of helping someone but it's hard to tell. They need to be more communicative and actually look at you and say "are you ready to check out" or "give me just a second I'm helping out this other customer" or SOMETHING. Not just stand there. Finally, I wouldn't bring kids into this store either, because they play music with extremely offensive/adult lyrics pretty much all day long. I see little 8 year old kids in there and then I hear f bombs coming from their radio while the guy behind the counter sings along. I dunno, it's not a very family friendly atmosphere. They should honestly be ashamed of the price stickers they put on some of the new sealed product they put out. It's laughably overpriced. Once the hype for Pokemon TCG dies back down, they are going to be struggling to stay in business due to losing a large amount of loyal customers over this greed.
