Today was another visit to the best comic book store in LA! I came in on May 24th around 2pm for free comic book day promotion to pick up some graphic novels. Its a great feeling to see people in there shopping for comics and having the same interest. What's great about Collector's Paradise is that they celebrate free comic book day for the entire month of May with great deals and sales to take advantage of. Continue the good work.

Chloe provided amazing customer service in terms of recommendations and was very knowledgeable!!! Overall, this local comic book store has a pretty great selection of comic books and graphic novels . I wish they had spicier selections though . It would've been cool to see Allison Moon's work for example . Why this place loses two stars, however, is not because of the lack of spicy or counter culture comics and graphic novels it's the lack of chairs ( accessible furniture) in this place. I notified / disclosed to one of the other people that was working I think specifically the manager about my disability and asked for a chair to sit because I had been standing awhile in pain and asked if they had a chair . The right thing to do would've been to offer up his chair. Instead, he looked at me blankly and was like yeah we don't have any chairs. If you have issues standing, I'd recommend bringing your wheelchair, although the floor is not even in certain places so make sure it's a wheelchair that has brakes if you are disabled. Overall, three stars. Again, two stars deduction for accessibility reasons .

My son an I came in to check out their funko pop collection (found in plenty of pictures from other yelpers). Unfortunately our experience was not great. We arrived to find that they didn't have a nice funko pop collection. Rather maybe like 10-15 pops displayed. I did luckily find the Geisha pop for sale , so I couldn't resist. They do have a huge comic book and graphic novel collection. I mean you can get lost in there for a few hours... The least favorite part of the experience was waiting for the clerk to finish his conversation with a girl (who may have worked there before). I totally understand catching up, but get the customer out really quick and then pick up where you left off in your conversation. Not sure if it's the age, where they don't have the same ideals like "customer is always right" , please the customer, who knows. But it was quite annoying waiting with things in my hand to obviously purchase, and just stare toward the clerk.... as he wrapped up his conversation.

Collector's Paradise Pasadena (Pasadena) is a huge comic book store in the center of Old Pasadena California! It's an excellent place to shop for wide and excellent selections of Comic Books and Pop Culture memorabilia. The spacious interior design of the shop is wonderfully architected for easy navigation to browse around the showcase of multiple Comic Books, Graded Comic Books, Signed Comic Books, Trade Paperbacks, Signed Arts, Funko Pop Vinyl, and Toys. The In-store Staff in Collector's Paradise Pasadena are top-quality customer service, Friendly, and as always, I got to give credit to the main superhero guy, Edward Greenberg the owner! The Collector's Paradise Staff are very attentive and very helpful to assist you with what you are looking for. What's great about this shop is you can also take a peek at their store and their social media channels for advance offers and comic book subscriptions. The extra added bonus to visitors is when you get to see and attend their in-store signing events from amazing creators and artists of comic books and pop culture! Overall, this store in the heart of Pasadena is Highly Recommended! From Good Affordable Deals, a Large Selection of comic books, a variety of collectibles to find, and very supportive in-store customer service. Thank You Collector's Paradise Pasadena! and looking forward to shopping more at your store!

I've lived in HLP for over a decade now and kept putting off a visit to Comics VS Toys for one…read morereason or another. When the urge to buy comics struck, I would default to the Pasadena stores - you know the ones - and man was that a mistake. I used to be an avid collector in the 90s, and Bali Books in Alhambra was my sanctuary. Every other store, no matter how good the selection, just felt impersonal. I recently decided to start reading issues in real time instead of waiting for TPBs, and of course that meant I needed a pull list. One stop at Comics VS Toys and dammit I feel like a 12 year old all over again. The owner, Ace, immediately took my requests and helped fill in some recent back issues I missed out on. Luckily my current list is staggered and I have a legitimate excuse to pick up my stack every week. And the staff is awesome, like your favorite neighborhood bar tenders. See ya next week! Do yourself a favor and go visit Comics VS Toys!

Though I did enjoy the t-shirts that they had on display. I am a comics fan and, if I had all day, I would be able to go through this entire place's inventory. But I found it wasn't organized in a way that I found easy to navigate. There were definitely some comic favorites of mine, or titles that I was interested in, but I came upon them randomly. And most weren't where I was expecting them. Interestingly enough, the comics were exclusively (or almost exclusively) Western comics. I didn't see any manga. There are, of course, shops entirely devoted to manga, but I've seen few comics shops that didn't have a few titles, given their popularity. The clerk on duty was neither outgoing nor unfriendly. Which, honestly, I'm fine with. When it comes to stores with lots of merchandise, as long as I can find someone to ask a question, I'm happy. I don't need someone breathing down my neck. While I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again, I might browse if I was in the area.

I was disappointed to see record stores have dried up, but when I looked up comic book stores, this was near the top, and close to where I had lunch. Street parking is fairly easy, and I didn't realize that the first door I passed was another entrance to a café looking area. However, the main entrance was a visually impressive experience in its own right. Full of stimuli basically, that's assured at Revenge of... (the Nerds? Supes?). Love the name! In addition to comics and usual toys and nicknacks, I was delighted to find not one, but two areas devoted to pinball machines! Additionally, the interior design evokes lots of classic (e.g. Silver and Bronze Age) artwork. X-Men and Spider-Man definitely influenced the architectural approach. It's impressive and lends a fun vibe, as well as atmospheric lighting. Two café counters in different areas allow for drinks to be purchased, and lots of nooks and crannies have things ranging from vinyl records, board games, a discounted graphic novels area, as well as recent comic titles and weekly releases (typically on Wednesdays). The back issues are found in X shaped fixtures and spaced in a clever arrangement that simultaneously encourages and enhances browsing, and yet doesn't clutter the walking areas. I found several missing issues for my Conan the Barbarian run, and everything is bagged and boarded (archival terms), so that's good. I didn't explore the pinball machines as I was pressed for time, but I definitely see myself visiting when I'm nearby in the future.

It opens into a maze of rooms, each with its own personality, filled with carefully arranged books that feel more like art than inventory.
