We were in the area and saw that it was finally open the last few times that we've gone out there. It's been closed so we never had a chance to go inside and check it out. I'm so glad that it was open. This place is full of nostalgia there is everything that you can think of from Star Wars to horror to Disney to just about any collectible that you're looking for the staff is super friendly. The store is super well organized the bathrooms are clean we enjoyed looking around and seeing all the fun stuff that they had we even bought a few items. I would definitely recommend this to people looking for a gift something for themselves something fun or just to go look and see what you find Pricing is pretty good most things have a reasonable price set on them. This is a huge store with so many toys, vintage and new. They had a lot of trick or treat studios toys and masks. They have toys for every price range. Lots of Star Trek and Star Wars toys. The employees were super friendly. I'm definitely coming back. read more

They definitely live up to there name, with toys and collectibles that take me back to my youth, GI Joe, Transformers, Star Wars, Gobots, and everything new!!! If you a Disney fan or know one this place brings items I have never seen available for purchase. The Staff are Uber Nice, I mean every time I call and to see when the store is closing and explain where I am coming from they always promise to stay open till I get there... I mean living in Glendale isn't far but because I work at the Port of LB getting to the store before they close can be very hard at times... Everything I am able to go with my son we never leave empty handed LOL I have purchased gifts for Birthdays, Christmas, and just because :) the best part is for every $25 you spend gets you a stamp and when you fill the card you can cash it in toward your purchase. As someone that spent more than a decade in retail as a buyer, I understand MSRP/SRP. Without revealing margins, I'll just say, profit is built in. I also understand with a B&M you have overhead. This is how I weigh my purchases. I consider what I would expect to pay for the same item via Amazon or eBay. I consider what it may cost to be a member and what it might cost for shipping and what the time frame is. It's clearly an advantage to walk in a place, pick something up and walk out with it same day, Vs. wondering about the quality and waiting 3-5 days or more for something to arrive. That said, when I considered those factors, it didn't make me comfortable shopping here. Again, Figurines, costumes and comics aren't really my bag, but the items with the largest margins like buttons, keychains and patches are and I just felt that your price wasn't as competitive as you would like me to believe. SRP is great, but I expect that at the WB Studio Store, not at a local business that is more community faced. ***End Update*** Popped into this place despite having the impression it may not be for me. I do like comics, but I'm far from an expert, so my collection is very small and anything I purchased was at the direction of another collector. I saw some cool stuff here, but the problem was pricing. Everything was high retail. Obviously, you have to make a profit to keep the doors up, but with prices this high, I wasn't surprised to see the store didn't appear to be attracting many customers. I liked a lot of a movie novelty stuff, but again, pricing was far more than I was comfortable paying, so I left empty handed. In either case, the guy at the register was really nice and I would have loved to supported the store, but even the budget stuff $10 and below was far more than I would have expected to pay. Even at Venice Beach, they will charge you $5, for a key-chain or 3/$10. It's the 3/$10 that makes you believe you aren't being ripped off. I would certainly have more competitive prices for patches , buttons and nick knacks, but it's not my store, so if it works for these guys, keep cooking. read more

This is family favorite! My son really enjoys seeing their collection of Transformer Toys. This is his latest collection so he's always curious on what items they have added. He will almost always walk out of the store with buying at least one item. If he had more money, he would spend it. They have a good selection of Star Wats (new and used), Disney and more. This comic shop is the coolest!!! Every corner had me reminiscing about my childhood. The owners are very hip and cool and love their job! Also very knowledgeable. They had a vast selection of the older comics and memorabilia. The prices are what you would expect on some rare items..yet some great steals as well if you dig deep. This is a fun store to visit if you're in the area, there's dedicated parking, so no worries there. The store layout is good, place is always clean, and there's a decent amount of stuff in each category. They separate everything well, from a small section of comics, to all the displays of loose action figures. The Star Wars Section is the largest, but there's just about every major franchise represented. Toys and statues are what is most available, they have a great movie poster selection, and a dedicated horror area towards the front. I would say prices are pretty comparable with eBay. I haven't seen anything marked up and I haven't seen anything for a steal. I like visiting every other month to see what they have. It's worth a visit if you're in the Burbank area. read more

Just want to start off by saying best comic books store hands on not just by the nostalgia of just walking in by just by the moment you walk in you feel like home because everyone makes you feel like this from the moment you walk in. All of the staff were on point with their customer service and made you feel very comfortable just asking them any question and they very attentive if you need any assistance of any kind. Just from all the items in store makes you remember your childhood in a very good way and makes you remember what life was before technology. Me and my gf very much enjoyed it bought a lot of stuff here and plan on coming back from San Diego to visit again. They had such a wide variety selection of not just horror but various other niche interests and I had an exceptional experience with the workers! I ended up grabbing a NECA saw figure and a Friday the 13th poster. Fun place and as titled a blast from the past. This is a collectible store with movie, TV, and 70's-2020's toys. This is a buy and sell of any movie or toy of the past. They offer Star Wars, Transformers, hot wheels, lunch boxes, framed photos/prints, stickers, and so much more. Found Transformers from my last that now my kids play with on display. Wow they are worth something, though the joy my kids show in playing outweighs selling them. Needless to say the family had fun and left with a few items ranging from current Top Gun 2 to Nightmare Before Christmas. We have been back since and enjoy each trip. If you're in the neighborhood make sure that you stop here. Parking is easy because there is a parking lot provided for you. When you go inside the store it's a bit overwhelming because they have so many items to choose from. The space was so huge !!! Talk about real collectibles there were collectibles that were very vintage and then there were collectibles that were new school having the balance made the shop worth coming to. Not only are there toys but they have cards, they have to right on games like Jurassic World and a sports car with Spiderman in it. Unfortunately I was not able to get any pictures because I was so excited to shop inside the store and FaceTime my brother to show him what was in there but I will definitely take pictures next time. The customer service was very good I would like to personally think George and the gentleman that helped me check out I forgot his name but he was amazing. Also the cool thing about this store you spend a certain amount you get stamps on your stamp card if you get 10 stamps you get $25 off of an item. I received four or five stamps today and next time I come back to SoCal I am most likely going to half my stamp card full. Fun store! I first heard about this place while scoping the area before a recent vacation. Of course I came to Yelp (I do use it at times) and from the reviews to the pictures, I knew this was a place I had to check out. This is a great place for fans of collectibles, keepsakes, memorabilia, toys, horror/sci-fi/80's movie genres, nostalgia, comics, and much more. There's way too much to mention as far as stock, but you have to really look everywhere inside to catch everything. Inside it's very spacious and there's plenty of room to maneuver and take your time without too much customer interference. The guy at the front (owner?) was nice. I checked in with Yelp and I received a free pin. Really, if I wasn't on vacation and didn't have luggage concerns, I would've left here with some merchandise. Some things are priced on the higher end, but that's almost everywhere these days. While I believe there is a parking lot, I found a spot a few blocks away and didn't need to use it. Went in to look for a specific toy for work. Two employees were in the front having a pleasant conversation and greeted me upon entering the store. As I looked around the associates continued their conversation- I was maybe one of two people inside the shop. Suddenly a woman literally SHOUTED from a tiny room off to the side that "THERE DOESN'T NEED TO BE TWO PEOPLE AT THE FRONT!!!" SERIOUS EYE ROLL. It was super apparent this "manager" type figure did not like that these two employees were laughing, enjoying their work shift and each other's company. Not once as a customer did I feel neglected by the associates but immediately felt uncomfortable hearing them get reprimanded for simply TALKING TO EACH OTHER. It was honestly sad to watch. All-in-all the store didn't have what I was looking for but it did have some super over-priced memorabilia you'd find at any antique store in the Midwest or better priced on eBay without the manager talking down to their staff. read more

Came across this place when visiting the mystic museum and I gata say I was very impressed in how big of a selection of assorted collectibles they have . Plus when chatting up one of the clerks on theire selection of Predator figures and Ash from the evil evil dead series she was very knowledgeable and helpful and I could tell she had a passion for nerd culture which is always appreciated and rarely seen in shops, I just wanted to give this clerk a shout out because she did an awesome job unfortunately I don't remember her name but she was the young African American gal that worked there Saturday 7th of August. It's not easy finding shops like Blast From The Past nowadays with the digital age, and being that I am a collector, born in the 90's I always get a kick visiting places that sell vintage and current collectibles. It reminds me of my youth when I would frequent toy shops to buy a toy. Went in the store looking for some 1/6 Scale Hot Toys figures and to my surprise they had more than what other hobby shops similar to Blast From The Past carry (understandably so, as they are expensive to showcase and sell). Most places usually carry two to three, but aside from Frank & Sons and Legacy Comics at Glendale, they had a moderate selection, which is more than I can say for other places. Found the Chadwick Boseman Black Panther and Michael B. Jordan Erik Killmonger at a very reasonable price. Due to the tragic passing of Chadwick (RIP), and being that I collect Hot Toys and other things, I know how the market works when someone tragically passes away. Panther was a Hot Toy figure I always planned to get, but never was a top priority and it looked unlikely I would ever add him to my collection until I discovered this store. Other collectors who are looking to make some cash will overcharge the item, and I can't blame them, but I REALLY appreciated Larry (the owner) being fair with the pricing. They also carry lots of other knick knacks like Funko Pops and other vinyl figures, lots of action figures from NECA, Hasbro, and Mattel. Some Barbies, pins, Sideshow statues, masks, horror items, posters, basically anything you can think of. The store has A LOT of variety. Lots of old figures you can't find in person anymore aside from the usual online stores eBay and Amazon, but my point is, that it's nice actually seeing the products in front of you.
