I miss boxy TVs and VHS tapes.

Be kind, and rewind! I'm so, so relieved to see a classic video rental store in Burbank. As a '90s kid, I grew up going to Blockbuster Video and Hollywood Video with my family on the weekends. In today's active digital use of media and technology, physical media has waned over the years and is now seen as obsolete by the general public. However, as someone who is heavily nostalgic and enjoys retro aesthetics, that concept will never fade away in my heart. The store is small but stockpiled with so many movies ranging in VHS, DVD, and Blu-ray formats. The layout definitely reminds me of a teenager's basement back in the '80s. If you're a film buff or someone who is curious about the past, be sure to make a stop here at Be Kind Video and support their independent business!

New Video star in town! More like in Burbank, Magnolia Park, great location, easy to spot from the road. Just stopped by today and the place is not 100% ready since it just opened on November 5th, chatted with the owner. Very cool decor, no pricing on anything yet! DVD-s and Blu-Ray-s are for renting ($3,50 for 5 nights) and VHS for sale, starting at $5. Steep! I am glad there's another video store around since I love media and movies and that this a hard business to open in this era. It is a tad hipsterish, hence the higher prices. Owner is nice, trying to get it together. Closed Mondays, street parking! I'll stop by sometime after things are more settled and check it out again!

Imagine the work and, well, hope to open a video store in 2022. Just thinking about such a thing conjures up memories of the video stores of yore...and that's what Be Kind Video is all about. All formats (not much in the way of Beta, to be honest) and a very fun hang-out vibe despite the size of the place. It's still shaping up and the owner Matthew was forthcoming on the future plans of the store. The first time I visited another customer was renting the 1997 film Breakdown and both Matthew and I simultaneously talked of the great J.T. Walsh. This was the kind of convo that used to happen all the time & now can again! So glad such a space exists and can't wait to see what will happen in '23.

A cool little store with a bit of nostalgia! Only drawback is their VHS selection. It's a shame that they'll charge you anywhere between $50-$75 for certain VHS tapes that are never tested. As a collector that sucks, because you either go for broke and end up with a tape that doesn't work or end up with a great copy. Definitely a gamble.

What a gem of a place! Wow! I literally stumbled into this place and felt like I went back in time to my childhood. Yea the new generation wouldn't appreciate or understand that but man I was so happy to be in that store. They have tons of stuff for rent and purchase. I'm definitely going to spread the love for this place to come and check out because I'll be coming back with friends. Thank you for this nostalgic store.

What a nostalgic feeling walking into this place! I recently started collecting VHS tapes and this store had them all. Absolutely love it here.

Best selection of VHS tapes in the valley at a reasonable price! DVDs are also available to rent. Very nostalgic environment and friendly service!

The game coaches were excellent and their professionalism, service and cleanliness were top notch. Guests absolutely loved the snow cone machine (8 flavors) and were served by the game truck team. They provided about 8 chairs for exterior gaming. On a hot day, I suggest putting up canopies for the "extras" you may order from them, plus guests (parents) who might want to hang near the truck. GameTruck: The truck/trailer needs at least 3 car lengths of space in front of a residence. Game selection was excellent across all platforms and satisfied 6yo - 14yo players. Cool mood-setting RGB lighting in the interior. Clean and excellent condition physical space and hardware. Mixed feedback from guests about the A/C but my b-day boy said he was perfectly cool. Service Acquisition: Business was conducted 100% over the phone. Told owner that my discovery and background knowledge was via Yelp. As such, service area limitation premiums $$ and travel fees were not referenced nor communicated in the procurement conversation. The business educated me about them after invoice was provided. I guess one of the down sides is I just trust this place too much with their cards out on display no signs of LP, MP, or HP. Picked out a bunch of single cards & I noticed after the purchase, as I'm putting the cards in the top loaders, that one card was severely damaged in the back and top corner bent like a mf. 30 dollar card nothing crazy. I just simply asked if I can just get another 30 dollar card. Nope I couldn't do that. Keep in mind I haven't even left the store yet. The only thing they can do is give me 22 dollars cash. Like 8 dollars is not a big deal but it's the principle.. on top of that I went there on my lunch break had 1 hour, spent my entire hour there. First person to walk in and everyone that came in after me got the help they needed first after asking nicely if I can get some cards, I was the last one out. This experience left a very bad taste in my mouth and I'm writing this hoping others don't receive the same treatment. Probably won't come back Paper Hero Games on Burbank, friendly staff. GREAT prices.

We went to geeksquad first, which apparently no longer sends out consoles to Sony for repair. And then we went to GameStop, where we were told that they do not do repairs either. But the workers at GameStop highly recommended Videomen. That is how we came to know about this location. I came to Videomen with my husband after calling and explaining the issue that we were having with my husbands ps5 slim. My husbands first impression was very pessimistic, simply because the location looks like it hasn't been updated in years. We went in and met Tai. Tai is the only one working in the store. I believe it is his location. He explained he would try his best to fix the issue, and quoted us a price for the repair. He said if he wasn't able to fix the console, he would only charge $25 for his time, which we found very reasonable. Tai told us to give him a call in hour for a report on his progress. We left and my husband was still very doubtful, saying the store was empty, and outdated. I told my husband that it looked like Tai and the Videomen location had been there for more than 20 years, working to repair electronics. I told him, I put my faith in him much more than a kid working part time in a newer store. After an hour we called again at 5:00pm, well past the store closing time. But Tai answered the phone to let us know that he was still working to solve the issue and would need more time. We understood and agreed to give him another call back in an hour. Tai ended up giving us a call around 6:00pm letting us know the console was up and running perfectly again! He asked if we wanted to pick up tonight or tomorrow. I let Tai know we were about 25 minutes according to GPS and he agreed to wait for us to pick the console up from his store. When we arrived Tai was very communicative. He connected the ps5 for a monitor to show us that the console was up and running smoothly before he explained all he had done to repair the console, and the likely reason it failed to work in the first place. He told us he let the console run for about 45 minutes to make sure the issue didn't arise again. And literally explained everything we needed to know to prevent the issue from ever happening again. Now, My husband is in a much better mood since we have received the working PS5 back from Tai. And we 100% recommend him to anyone and everyone in need of an electronic repair. I definitely recommend calling beforehand to speak to Tai, verifying that he will be in the store. And to communicate the item you need repaired plus the issues you are having with it. It's very rare to see a mom and pop shop still standing, and I am happy I was able to support this gem in my community. We will definitely return for any future repairs our family may need, And will proudly refer Tai at Videomen to anyone looking to repair their gaming console.

He later called and told me me he couldn't get any disc to read after cleaning it (I had just been playing kingdom hearts 2 literally an hour before going to his run down pos shop). He explained I should just get a new ps2 from Amazon and that the laser is completely broken. I tried to play when I came back home just for the ps2 not to work and read any of my games from my library. Dude charged me money just to break my console that I had since 2003.
