Great local record shop! For the size of the store they have quite a selection. Everyone is super friendly and they let you take your time and look around, they even have a listening station and a couch to chill.

Clean fun record store with both new and used records. Nice place to shop browse and shop

New customers should probably be made aware of this fact, ahead of time, before traveling to this shop, so they won't be taken back by its size.

I've barely begun to dip my toe into deep appreciation of physical music mediums, and accompanied my wife here on her birthday search for a few specific vinyls and CDs. My search was narrow, hoping for a Odesza vinyl. I found two vinyls from the A Moment Apart album I was in search for with one being a used copy in a deep sea foam color while the other was a clear vinyl. Because I knew nothing about vinyls, I went to the front desk where Kelly took the time to show me how; 1) properly remove vinyls from their sleeve, 2) the direction to clean vinyls using a microfiber cloth, 3) check downs to go through when inspecting a used vinyl, and 4) in why's behind inspecting vinyls the way she recommended. In taking the time to show me how to check 3 separate clearance vinyls, I felt even more stoked about my Odesza used vinyl find as it was fun colored vinyl not yet in our collection and in beautiful condition. Kelly - thank you for not being a gatekeeper. You rock!

It's located right across the street from the Metro B Line, so take the transit for super convenience! Walking in, there is security staff that's there that will do a bag check. They also do this when you're leaving the store. The store itself is a nice warehouse of everything you're looking for: music, movies, and merchandise like t-shirts, buttons, even some CD players (not top of the line, but they have them!). Everything is organized at this location - with lots of staff on the floor, restocking and organizing the racks. They have a good selection of everything, but also they don't have everything. I didn't find what I was looking for at my last visit, but it was still nice to browse through the store. They also seem to carry a lot of brand new CDs here. Amoeba's a cool shop if you've never been to one before. It's one of the remaining larger physical music shops left that have tons of music CDs, records, and other awesomeness.

Such a unique bookstore. Drove the extra mile to come here…read moreand i made sure to leave with no regrets. I, of course, had to take photos of the bookstore. The layout and organization was really nice. Every section had it's own unique look. My favorite, and i think everyone's as well, is what seems to be a tree-like stand in the middle of the interior section of the bookstore. Once i was done admiring it's beauty, It was time for business. How many books can i justify getting!! I decided that i for sure wanted to get a book from a local author and some cool unique books that were unconventional. They had some books behind glass cases and some others that were mass printed in the 90s and a whole section for California based authors. Perfect. They also had many sections of some of my favorite books, books that are on my TBR and many many many books that were so tempting to get that seemed so good. I ended up getting 4 books for under $100. One of which is a book by a local author, and 3 others that were collectibles of some sort. I am very pleased with my purchase and believe the lovely lady that helped me check out agrees. When i come back to Cali, i will be coming back here for more cool books.

We thought Licorice Pizza is a pop-up store in Studio City in conjunction with the new P. T…read more Anderson movie. So we stopped by today to check it out while running errands in the area. We were wrong! We started to chat with the nice folks working behind the counter and they told us that it is a coincidence. This store has nothing to do with the movie. But they do want to continue the name, legacy of the original Licorice Pizza store. Till the settle they rights, this store is called Licorice Pizza Records at Hear We Are. We are happy to have a new record store in the Valley after many cool ones closed and it was painful to witness. They sell a bit of everything: vinyl, books, t-shirts, merchandise that could make a great gift or souvenir. They also have a pin ball machine if you want to play and try it! My husband found a cool coollection of Chandler's work so he was happy to add a new book to our collection (we are addicted to books and proud of it!). Fun store to explore and shop at right next to Art's deli. Parking? Street parking, some lots around as well. If you're local, you'll manage. Great addition to Ventura Blvd. and to the Valley. Nice to see a new indie record store around!

It's not even a record focused store, half the store is nonsense items and trinkets. Looks and feels like a messy unorganized cash grab. On Wednesday it seemed like the two kids behind the desk were bewildered, as if they hadn't worked a job before. I hope whatever business lies beyond that clear glass door is more competent than this wannabe record store. Their website is an obvious skin on top of a third party distributor. Nothing here is authentic to a real Licorice Pizza. I mean what record store neglects so many genres? If you genuinely like this place you're either a sucker for bs nostalgia or new to record collecting.

I placed an order from the Sunset Blvd. Books division on February 20th and was quoted two to three weeks for shipping, which seemed excessive in this day and age but okay, whatever. I found it odd that there was no option to pay with PayPal, which I always use when available for the additional purchase protection it provides beyond just my card's, but I didn't think too much of it at the time. Three weeks came and went with no updates. When the four week mark arrived I started looking for contact information and was a bit disconcerted when I found none on either the Sunset Blvd. Books website or in the confirmation e-mail I received. I first sent a message to the very active Sunset Blvd. Records Facebook page and didn't hear back, then I tracked down an e-mail address on the main Sunset Blvd. Records website which directed general inquiries to an Eric Carlson. I sent off an e-mail inquiring about the status of my order. Another day went by and I received no response, but there was a constant flood of posts on their Facebook page. I left a comment on the most recent post stating what had happened to me and expressing my concerns, which was deleted within a day of my posting it. At this point I finally received a response from Eric stating that my order had in fact gone out and that he would follow up with a tracking number. This was the first lie I was told. The next day I received another message asking me to confirm my address. Why would I need to confirm my address if my order already went out? Alright, fine, I'll give you my address again. Shortly after that I received an additional message stating that due to my proximity to them it should only take one day to get to me and if they were unable to locate tracking for the original shipment (and I imagine it's pretty hard to locate a tracking number for a shipment that never existed) a new one would be sent out "right away". Another week went by with no updates. I e-mailed again, no response. Sent another e-mail, no response. How many days did they plan on searching for this mysterious tracking number that was eluding them before calling it a loss? What was the point of telling me that it would only take a day to get one to me? At this point things were starting to feel seriously scammy, so I filed a web merchant complaint with the District Attorney's office. I then sent yet another e-mail to Eric, which did not receive a response until I left another comment on their still very active Facebook page warning other potential customers. That comment was promptly deleted and I was blocked from their Facebook page. How could I ever expect to get another response now when commenting was the only was I'd been able to coax one out of them thus far? How many other customers had this happened to? They clearly don't want anyone to know. Eric finally contacted me to say that he had spoken to Len (Len Fico being the owner of this exemplary establishment) the previous day and that they would be shipping me "another" book. A few hours later I received an additional message with a tracking number stating that my package was on the way to the post office at that moment. Another lie; at this point I honestly can't tell if they're stupid or they think I am. Two days later and the tracking still reads USPS awaiting item. It's now been almost six weeks and I'm still empty-handed. It makes a lot of sense as to why they don't accept PayPal - they would've been forced to act long before now if I had been able to file a PayPal claim against them. My mistake for not taking that as the red flag it obviously was. This whole time I have never received any sort of apology for the inconvenience or reasoning as to why it has taken so long to get one book in the mail, just "thank you for your patience", "thanks for bearing with us", and "I understand your frustration". To end on a humorous note, after all my trouble I had to find their office address in order to create this Yelp listing so that other potential customers could be forewarned without my review being deleted. What's the funny part? Apparently their office is located above a UPS store. How much easier access to shipment solutions do you need? UPDATE: More than six weeks after I placed the order a book finally arrived...I say a book because it's not what I ordered. I paid for a signed hardcover copy but received an unsigned paperback and a handful of random CDs. I can concede on the signature as the author is dead, but I got ripped off for the extra $10 I paid for a hardcover copy so it would look nice in my collection. I'm completely done dealing with these morons and I'm going through my credit union for a chargeback.
