Studio Hope is a curated shop of everything from thrift-store-fun to higher end jewelry, glassware and refreshed duds for him and her. Yes I scored a few items. Consumers in any given community are constantly encouraged to shop local in order to help the surrounding economy and the actual business owners whom are often residents, themselves. It is by far a better choice than the mega retailers. But here is an even more amazing concept: when the local business in question that is helped by the community also helps the community in turn and/or nonprofits. Now, THAT is the most splendid symbiotic relationship that could ever be conceived! This is exactly what is happening at Burbank's very own Studio Hope. Allow me to explain... Studio Hope is a combination thrift store/vintage store/antique store/gift shop at the Hollywood Way/Clark intersection not far from the Magnolia Park area of Burbank where these stores are a dime a dozen. However, Studio Hope stands out not only because it is located a few blocks away; but also because it is a business created to 'do good'. Owned and operated by Lori and Dean, a husband-and-wife team both suffering with kidney/renal issues; this dynamic duo initially founded (1) a kidney nonprofit that helps adults/families/children suffering from renal conditions and (2) an animal nonprofit to help orphaned pets find forever homes. In turn, they founded Studio Hope which rather than operate for a profit; revenues help fund the two non-profits. So, if you shop at Studio Hope you are supporting charities versus a billion-dollar company AND the local economy! The local buzz has been raving about Studio Hope but I wasn't able to check them out until the end of 2025 when bringing them my end-of-year donations (they accept donations and offer a receipt for your tax deductions). I was absolutely enthralled the moment I walked into the shop with its vintage/antique vibe and art collective. This place is less thrift store and more vintage - in the best way possible. Studio Hope offers amazing clothing (some modern and the BEST vintage finds!), purses, jewelry, shoes, housewares and furniture, trinkets, art, etc. Studio Hope isn't just a store: it is an experience and is heaven for lovers of all things vintage and antique. You would expect that these top-tier wares being sold at Studio Hope would fetch a pretty penny due to their own worth alone plus needing to be relatively comparative to competitors. Wrong! I was shocked to find some crush-worthy vintage at affordable prices and I am poor so my judgement can be trusted! Dean and Lori's Studio Hope does not screw patrons over. During my visit in which I purchased an adorable enamel ice cream cone pin; I successfully made a clothing donation and was thanked profusely while also being introduced to Lori. Lori is a doll: friendly, inclusive, conversational, humble and obviously appreciates each and every customer. This truly 'sells' the business even more making one want to return to Studio Hope. Studio Hope is also 'cool' as they work with the local film studios and host events like "Bridgerton" viewing parties. They also utilize their store for work with their charities such as the 'prom' they put on for the teens part of their kidney nonprofit allowing them to choose among the store's gowns. Studio Hope is truly compassionate. My only complaint is that it is street-meter parking only which is a bit annoying when schlepping donations and unable to catch a close meter but Studio Hope is worth contending with this 'grievance'. A unique combo of boutique, vintage shop, and thrift store, Studio Hope is so cute! The space is decorated beautifully. It's open and airy and staged like a fancy shoppe. The variety of items is a wonderful mix of new items and vintage, and I literally walked around the complete store 3 times and was still discovering new things! The gal who was working offered us bottled water and there is also a gorgeous dispenser filled with lemonade. I purchased two Maneki-neko and there were so many other things I wanted! The level of detail to make things special was just amazing. For example, the stud earrings that were put on vintage children's playing cards and postcards. Such a fun shopping experience and proceeds go to help two nonprofits, one assisting people with kidney disease and the other helping to rescue homeless pets. If you go, you can't miss it. This is a brand new thrift store in the Magnolia Park neighborhood in Burbank, even more incentive for me to come to this area more often! They are very green, only a month old, but today when I dropped by to check it out the super warm cashier told me they are having a grand opening soon. Very friendly owner/staff. When you first walk in, it feels like a vintage/antique store! Everything is thoughtfully placed and curated. When you take the time to peruse you'll soon realize that it is indeed a donation based thrift store! Reasonable pricing for their mission. They have dressing rooms if you need. Popped-in to see what they had after driving past it several times. I was surprised to find it so nicely merchandised. The owner and staff have a creative sense and the visual design of the merchandise is proof of that. I asked if it was a consignment store or donations and the employee replied that everything was donated. The store was clean and pleasant to shop. There were home goods, clothing, art, furniture, etc. Prices were high on the items they had that were vintage. They either knew what the items were or were looking them up online to see what average prices were for the same item or similar. Clothing was priced a bit lower. Not as low as a classic thrift store or Goodwill but not as high as a vintage clothing store. Staff was friendly. Limited parking available in the back. The employee said sales go towards two charities at this time. One was for kidney transplants and the other was a dog rescue. What a lovely experience! Studio Hope is not 'just a store'! My daughter took me to Studio Hope while we were recently visiting in the LA area. I have to say, they have something for EVERYONE! I was looking for one-of-a-kind items and I was not disappointed. I purchased a few hand crafted jewelry and local art. Furthermore, everything I chose was a great value both in price and quality.
