Love this local female owned shop. I was introduced to them when they came to my office for an earth day event my company did. I visited their shop when I was failing the plants that I had gotten from them during my company's earth day event. The succulent had gotten mealy bugs, so Tansy kept the plant to treat it. The other one had gotten fungus gnats, so they re-potted it. They not only sell plants, but help nurse any plants you have back to health. They don't just have plants and supplies in their shop, they have lots of other non-plant items that are great as gifts. I also purchased a journal from them. They have a cute coffee cart and outdoor seating area in the front, and have different events they produce. Really building a community around their shop. read more

I have heard about this quaint, cozy, little shop named Tansy. To be honest with you all, I didn't really know what was it that I was looking for? I just wanted to stop by earlier today to check out this place/nursery. It was so clean, tranquil and peaceful. When I walked in, I have noticed enormous selection of plants, artwork, toys for kids, artificial butterflies, and cute sentiments, momentous, little touches here and there. I looked around and didn't really see anything that I needed, but liked everything that was in this store. 2 employees wanted to know what was I looking for? I told them the minute something grabs my eye and attention I will let them know. They have a small shop that you can purchase coffee, snacks and other knick knacks. There is one word I would use to describe Tansy...enchanting. It's like walking into a fairytale or the welcoming home of a well traveled friend. Honestly, I didn't want to leave. I wanted to live there. Just parking at one of the residential streets I was greeted by beautiful floral murals on the wall. When I walked into the outdoor patio, there were plants everywhere, seating, and a little coffee and pastry truck. When I walked into the store, it was like a continuation of the outside with flowers and lights hanging from the ceiling. Meanwhile, the merchandise itself is noticeably hand selected for its beauty and/or cuteness. The prices are reasonable. For the most part each item I personally looked at was around $20. I even took a reusable shopping bag with me just in case, but since my apartment is small and anything I bring into it needs to be utilitarian, as much as I wanted to come home with something, I didn't actually buy anything. Like there was this coconut bowl that had a lovely floral lacquered painting in the interior. It was the first thing I picked up and I even went back to it a second time before I was about to leave. It was only around $17, but I couldn't bring myself to actually buy it because where would I put it? What would I use it for? I can't put cereal in it because it would ruin the painting. I can't throw keys into it because, again, it would ruin the painting. I would have it simply to have it and look at it. Which is a proper summary of this store: If you're looking for cute, affordable tchotchkes to fill your home with and you have the room, this place is for you. If you're good with keeping plants alive and you have the space for them, this place is for you. Coming here is an experience. This place has a very warm, eccentric, and energizing vibe that is hard to match. It felt like a shop that belonged to fairy. This is a breath of fresh air for people trying to escape the HOA minimalism aesthetic. I loved the variety of products. I think this would be a great shop for someone looking for a stand out birthday gift or personal home decor. There are trinkets, seeds, planters, lamps, cat towers, and more. This is the cutest store! I love how the gifts are whimsical, colorful, unique and most are handcrafted! The vibe is great here and there's a little coffee cart and outdoor spot to just hang out and have private events. We spent a good amount of time chatting with the gentleman who cares for the nursery, which has so many pretty plants and wonderful items to care for the plants. We didn't get to try the coffee only because we came here right after brunch and already maxed out our daily caffeine limit, but I definitely will be back to enjoy the coffee and hang out! read more

Was on location for Yelp event so I wandered in and already my stress level decreased. I attribute it to all the beautiful plants and the oxygen they were pumping out. However, if you live in or near Burbank; then Tansy is the flora and fauna jungle boutique located on Magnolia Blvd close to the Buena Vista intersection. I've been to Tansy for a Yelp event but finally made it on my own time, which means, according to Yelp guidelines, I can now rightfully review the establishment! If you've driven up or down Magnolia during the last few years; then there is absolutely no way you've missed Tansy - as it practically reaches out to your car with lusty green leaves, bright colors and an Instagram-worthy patio area. You may have wondered what Tansy is exactly: Tansy is a female-owned plant and home trinket boutique that sells more than just plants and offers everything from pillows to sage, pottery/ceramics and figurines to jewelry boxes and stuffed animals. Imagine it almost like a gift shop at a botanical garden. In addition to the products Tansy sells; they also arrange plant baskets for purchase and double as an event space for your baby shower, meeting or luncheon. How cool is that?! It's already been established that those who say things like, "Good vibes, only!" are the most toxic people of them all, but Tansy truly is vibrating on another level. Not only is it gorgeous on the eyes with all the plants, overhead lanterns, lights and colors; but there is something very spiritual and metaphysical about the place - in a bohemian way, not a creepy way! The air equally buzzes but also has a calming, zen-like tone, making Tansy a shopping experience to remember. Tansy is a bit pricey, which is expected for a local business, so it is out of my budget to shop at regularly, but not everyone is poor like me.  I headed to Tansy because I needed to purchase a fresh sage bundle to ward off the negativity that crept into my apartment. Tansy sells both white and 'regular' sage bundles at $6.99 each. This is much more than the cost at other area metaphysical shops, but Tansy's sage is noticeably of better quality. If you have the money, this place is perfect for your own home or to find a gift for a loved one. Also enjoyable at Tansy is their tank with a tree frog and small lizards with little nametags encouraging customers to find the little critters as they are camouflaged into their surroundings. As a huge reptile and amphibian fan (I owned my own tree frog for several years); this added animal touch definitely gains bonus points. My only main complaint was not being made to feel welcome, per se, during my visit. I arrived at the store around 4pm on a Tuesday afternoon, and there were no other customers. The male associate on duty was pricing some plants in a neighboring room. It was so empty and quiet: that I could have literally robbed the place!  When I approached him saying I was ready to check out; he didn't even converse with me. I tried making jokes and conversation and received nothing - absolutely nothing - in return. It was truly awkward and didn't make me want to purchase from Tansy again. I noticed he had an accent, so perhaps there was a language barrier? It wasn't until a female I am assuming is the owner wondered out from the back that I felt like a valued customer as she immediately complimented my outfit and began chatting with me. Despite the prices and the customer service hiccup; Tansy is an absolutely lovely shop to visit and to support a local female-owned business. I was strolling along Magnolia Blvd and saw this adorable place, so I popped in to check it out. Established in 2018, Tansy is a Black, Female owned nursery and home goods store. This whimsical oasis offers everything from indoor/outdoor plants to home décor and unique gifts. The shop has such a warm, welcoming vibe. There is so much cute stuff! I could spend hours here just browsing and admiring the scenery. There are different rooms with new things to discover and gorgeous displays throughout that add to the charm. On my visit, I was assisted by Ella, who is an absolute doll. Her energy and enthusiasm are infectious, which makes the shopping experience even more enjoyable. Showing Tansy some love for Women's History Month! Tansy continues to be a magical oasis in the SFV. Their community events are outstanding and the people there are wonderful. Pop by Tansy for a new plant friend, or pick up a gift for someone special! I purchased a handmade mobile here for my baby and it is so unique and beautiful. He loves it! They actually have a lot of great baby gifts like pillows, toys, wall hangings etc. I also love their selection of dishware and greeting cards. You will find things at Tansy that you will not find anywhere else. Highly recommend making a trip to Tansy to enjoy some sunshine in their outdoor space, check out their shop and enjoy a coffee by pop up coffee shop Plantate Cafe. They also sell Milkweed here in the summer! Get one and give some future butterflies a new home! I bought a couple plants and it was super cool to watch the butterflies grow from start to finish. It's my birthday today so wanted to treat myself to a special item and I tried to give this store a shot but I can't ignore that my daughter and I walk around and your staff never seemed welcoming. I made eye contact with a girl at the counter and she literally looked away. I approached a staff member to ask about a specific plant and although nice once I approached her that was it. Didn't ask any more questions or if I was interested in anything else. This is my 3rd time coming in on various days so this place is just not for me. Had driven by this place and didn't know what it was until I decided to pay it a visit. Started off by entering this beauty and getting a Cafe De Olla at the little coffee area ! 10/10 delicious and the girl making the coffee very sweet! We came in looking for something specific that we did not find but the place itself was a wonderful find The plants were beautiful there were a lot of creative gifts that you might not find other places.
