They do landscaping for people who own gardens (does not apply to me) and all the work the employees put in to those plants to make their customers happy and satisfied is a huge recognition. Employees are very knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. Also caring and understanding. A friend of mine had given me an indoor plant for my birthday last year and lasted me for a whole entire year and 3 months. It took the last breath and I went to them asking for help. It was a bit late. I am more of a flower girl than owning plants. I have had plants in my younger years. I ended up buying 2 new outdoor plants to put outside of my window/door. It looks very pretty. I have also purchased a Christmas tree from their lot twice. Established in 1889. That should say a lot about this lovely, beautiful garden/nursery. Since today is a holiday, I didn't even know if they'd answer the phone, but they did and Dean patiently answered my questions about rose pruning and gave me so many amazing tips. I know that they're kind and knowledgeable in person, but I am blown away that they would be so kind and caring on a phone call! The level of professionalism, know-how and unparalleled customer service is such a rarity these days. It's like going back to an old-fashioned, small town country store -- but it's really an unusually courteous good group of people running an amazing nursery. The community really has to support a place like this. They'll spend time to teach you something about gardening and they know more than any other place you could go to buy anything for any of your gardening needs.

It took a crew of 8 to 10 people to bring the tree in and get it planted, and they did an incredible job with the placement. They walked me through exactly what I needed to do to care for it, especially during that crucial first year. I've also had two visits from their MVP Pro Care team, and Kevin, Alba, and Travis Zack were fantastic. They showed up on time, gave me a heads up before arriving, and took the time to explain what they were doing and how I should continue caring for the tree to keep it healthy. They were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their work. Overall, working with Moon Valley has been easy and seamless. I highly recommend them for large tree installations or any yard plants you're considering. They really know their plants and how to care for them properly.

Local nurseries on Marketplace sell the same trees with nowhere near the 200% markup, and the service is often better. I paid $10,000 for what turned out to be the smallest, thinnest, already-dying privacy hedges. Completely overpriced and disappointing. They even sent out an "arborist" after I raised concerns. I specifically pointed out that one tree was thin and dying. She did nothing, left it in place--and now the tree is completely dead. Never again. I learned a very expensive lesson due to lack of knowledge and experience. Hopefully you don't have to. Learn from my wallet. I'm still stuck with a dead tree.

I never cease to be amazed at how incredible this wonderland is…read more I had to go by to replenish a gorgeous cactus planter that I've picked up there 5 years ago - it literally was one of the bright spots in my home during Covid - And even though my work hours were keeping me later than their time of closing, Mari graciously waited for me and we spent the next half hour making my planter even more stunning (she graciously added in a few extra small cacti since the ones I had were flourishing and space allowed, and a few gorgeous geodes buried deep in the white stones - it's breathtaking.) While she was finishing it up, I wandered around their back garden area - and again was just reminded at how extraordinary it is that this oasis exists right in the middle of the city - it's literally like a small national park with all the fountains and waterfalls and stunning Landscaping - And just needed to again remind anybody anywhere between Burbank and Santa Monica - if you love stunning landscaping, gorgeous stonework water fountains, waterfalls, and breathtaking architecture... You absolutely have to stop by this extraordinary haven. On a sidenote - the owners love to stock up on handcrafted hand poured artisanal candles, soaps, and lotions, from the same shops that are stocked in five star resorts... But at half the price!!! They have every color, style and fountain that you can imagine. The sale section was limited but it was still cool to explore the property. There is a sweet garden cat that will happily say hello and hang out with you. They also have a number of succulents and some larger plants. I regrettably have to report that the indoor section of plants is not very good health wise. They had some unique species but almost everything had either spider mites or Thrips. For parking you'll need to find a spot on the street and they have a restroom if you need a break from plant or pottery shopping The pricing isn't bad and well worth it if you find what you've been looking for.
