Outdoor hidden gem alert! California Cactus Ranch aka California Nursery Specialties Cactus Ranch aka The California Cactus Nursery & Ranch of Reseda, California in the Los Angeles Valley is one worth your trip. Plant life aside the layout here is endless and full of rustic charm and nostalgia, from the area 51 and alien signature and memorabilia to the metal dinosaurs to the vintage soda machine and classic fixtures throughout this massive maze of outdoor plants. The plants are extremely well preserved and upkept with love. Really impressed by the varieties they offer and the pricing for a small biz mom and pop shop/emporium of growing greens, but also very pleased. There is a fair amount of space to move around, but you definitely have to be mindful of fellow plant patrons near the covered labyrinth of a few 10,000 plus desert plants and the first sections in front with limited paths. There are about 4 house barn like sections front to back housing a lot of wonderful plants, not to mention an entire uncovered section just a big and several small area near converted garages and beyond well decorated areas. Many signs in place for plants off limits for either longstanding customers, detailed attention or rareness. The only issues you might face is CCR doesn't take cards or check so definitely be prepared to pay cash, but at very reasonable prices and low tax. We did face a line to checkout (not to enter) which felt endless mainly because of the humidity of Spring, but also because this hidden gem stays busy. The customer service is above and beyond where as the parking is come as you are... Luck of the draw street only! Mask are required and courtesy is extremely appreciated.

This place is a cacti lovers dream! Not many of the plants are labeled but if you know what you're looking for you'll be able to find it here. I was able to spot some cool monstrose trichocereus grafts and also some variegated trichocereus which is what I had my eye out for. Prices are pretty reasonable. I feel the people saying these prices are high aren't used to the cost of cactus and don't realize how long mature plants take to grow. Service seems okay. I didn't think the person working was super attentive but this place is massive and I assume he had a lot to tend to. Don't mind mid service when they have so much to offer!

There are some really interesting varieties of cactus and succulents here if you're looking for something unique. It's a cool place to experience and walk through even if you don't plan on buying anything. I bought a few new plants and a really cute pot (some of their pots and planters seem vintage), and it felt a little overpriced. In reality, shopping at a chain nursery isn't much cheaper and the plants never look as healthy as a smaller independent place like this. I will continue to visit and recommend this place, just wish the pathways were a little less crowded to accommodate people with mobility considerations.

    Beware of the dinosaurs. Rawr!

My partner has a thing for plants, this was on her list so we checked it out. Here was our experience on a Saturday morning. Parking: Street parking Feels: You're in the Valley and all popping spots are scattered. This one is close to Los Angeles Pierce College. If you're looking for it, look for the big dinosaur. There are plants for days! My partner was impressed with the selections as there was so much variety and some rare finds, slighlty pricey (LA price) but still reasonable. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Chill. Friendly and helpful peeps. OVERALL: 4 Stars. It's a good place. Reasonable price and plentiful selections, it's a place worth eye shopping or coming back. Seriously, there's so much you need to come back for a healthy review. Tips: * CASH ONLY

Cash only ! Open only on weekends (I guess because of covid) Park on the street or in neighborhood It's an open outside garden that u can walk in with multiple green houses Customer service: meh Aside from customer service I like what this nursery has to offer and the experience of coming here. They have a wide variety of mini succulents and cacti. I bought 2 mini cacti in 2018 And then this year I got a mini jelly bean succulent for about 2.99 and mini jade plant for the same price, a bag of the fertilizer they have ready to-go and as well as 2 mini pots for my succulents. All came out to about 16/17$

I've been in the valley for years and never knew of this gem. They are open special hours on the weekends only. You can fine some unique plants will be pay the price. The cheapest plants I bought were in a two inch and where about 3.00. The four inch were 7.49 and up depending on what it is. I walked out of there spending almost $200 that day. I did buy two plants that were 34.95 each that were plants from Africa. The rest were a couple small plants one was about $15 in a 4 inch pot. And then I bought a rod iron cone that goes up about 3 feet that you can grow cute small vines on like such as a morning glory. That item was $59.99.

This place is larger than it looks from the front - they have rows and rows of cactis and succulents especially rare plants from all over the world! Good place to get plants for a affordable price and to support the local business in the valley.

I love this place. There's a zillion varieties of cacti and succulents. Don't bring kids or pets because they will get pricked. Super friendly staff and good prices.

The best hard to find cactus and succulents based on variety and size in LA, Ventura and Orange Counties. They also carry the basics. Dave the owner has a wealth of information and has been busy with this place for years, and Dave is very polite and patient. Open only Sat and Sun for retail purchases, stop by for an education in the varieties and view the intensity of colors the flowers have once they have bloomed. Bring the family or yourself for one or two hours and escape into the world of cactus and succulents. There's nothing like it. Bring an empty box or two with you for stability of the plants in your car. Cash and check only. Free parking on the street. All cactus are succulents, but not all succulents are cactus. Nice place, but they let people walk around without masks, even in their closed spaces. Don't feel very cared for.

Hi ! How much for myrtillocactus crested? Thanks

Small crested (about 2-inch pots) are about $4, larger ones (5-/6-in and up) are accordingly higher. It's a wholesaler, open to the public only on weekends.

They did not just drop them in the ground and tell me to water, they took the time to explain exactly how and when to water so I would feel confident in caring for them.
