This succulent nursery has to be my first review of the year! We met up with friends who are…read moresucculent obsessed on New Years Day. I was surprised it existed. I've driven by many times and never saw it in spite of the dinasours at the entrance. It was a wet rainy day, which added to the ambiance. There are hundreds of succulents, some I've seen before and some I've never seen. You could spend hours here and I'm sure you will find something to take home. We definitely did! Prices seem reasonable, and selection plenty. There was a guy there who was super knowledgeable and nice. He let us know this nursery had been there for decades and started out as a high school project. Love that for the SFV!

This experience, however, was so off that I felt compelled to share it. I'm assuming the gentleman who helped me was the owner, although I can't say that with certainty. From the beginning, the interaction felt unusually unwelcoming and dismissive. I came in looking to purchase approximately 30-40 plants, which is a pretty good-sized order. The plants were already on the expensive side because they came in relatively small pots. When I first asked about ground cover, I was immediately told to go somewhere else. I then showed him two plants I was interested in, and he said they would work. I asked if there was any discount or flexibility if I purchased a large quantity. He just stared at me at first, so I clarified that I was hoping to negotiate the price because of the size of the order. I was then told that if I purchased 12, I could get one free. I said okay and decided to purchase two plants first to take home and see how they looked. Despite the initial interaction feeling uncomfortable and being told to go somewhere else, I really liked the plants. My husband and I decided that we were willing to purchase the 30 to 40 plants regardless of the interaction or price because we liked them that much. I returned only a few minutes later and said, "I'm back. I'd like to order 40 of these." I then asked if the one plant I had literally just purchased could count toward the quantity, since I had bought it only minutes earlier and was now placing a much larger order. The response was simply, "No," accompanied by a smirk and a laugh. I was honestly shocked that, knowing I was prepared to purchase 40 plants, there wasn't even a willingness to consider counting the one plant I had purchased just minutes earlier toward the order. At that point, it wasn't really about the cost of one plant. It was about the way the interaction was handled: dismissing me to go somewhere else rather than helping me find the right plant in his nursery, staring at me when I asked about purchasing in quantity, and then being unwilling to consider the one plant I had just purchased while laughing about it. I was genuinely surprised by the interaction and ultimately just walked away and said, "You know what, forget it." I've dealt with businesses where the customer service wasn't great before, and sometimes I've simply tolerated the uncomfortable interaction and proceeded with the transaction anyway. But this interaction felt so careless and rude from the beginning that I just couldn't bring myself to proceed with a 40-plant order. Unfortunately, I left feeling that my business was not wanted, so I took it elsewhere. Update- I found a place for half his costs , local and exact same plants! And the people are nice! Three big wins!

I Yelped nurseries that were open mid afternoon on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised that they were still open. I met Ryan and Carlos who were helpful in my search. Carlos showed me the different roses they had and I was so happy to find the last beautiful and fragrant rose Julio Iglesias! He taught me how to cut roses which I thought was nice of him. My dad and I really enjoyed our experience here and will come back again to check out their other plants! I recommend you stop by to check out their nursery where great prices and services are given.

We removed our front lawn and decided to create our own landscape design, and Ryan's recommendations and suggestions throughout the process were invaluable. When it came time to install some of our larger plants, his crew went above and beyond. They did not just drop them in the ground and tell me to water, they took the time to explain exactly how and when to water so I would feel confident in caring for them. Thanks to Ryan and his team, I feel set up for success and could not be happier with the experience.

Grab a wagon and load up because you won't know when to stop with some many great plants, deals on supplies and their inviting layout. As a small chain of garden centers meets plant nurseries I have to say this location stands out. Their online shop is easy also with get learning materials, newsletters , resources and even a plant library. I'll never forget my first trip here with my friend Sam, definitely need to hit her up again for a plant day, but absolutely still enjoy coming here with others and of course solo for some planty self-care. Adding some Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) friends to the plant family at home. Absolutely and 818/SFV/LA Valley favorite among many. You'll want to get lost between the many areas the have here and in the main area as well as their extended open air garden on the parking lot side. Staff here is very personable and extremely knowledgeable. From lawn and outdoor patio furniture or fixtures, fountains, decorations and plant care musts, GTN has a bit of it all. Even fun seasonal items and sales. Entrance in back, where you'll also find their parking lot, fairly spacious, but it can and does fill up on weekends. Restroom available for customers.
