An amazing nursery with a lovely selection and kind staff. We got all our roses from here, along with some flowers and a few vegetable plants, and all have done well. It's a really beautiful nursery to walk through but it gets very hot in the summer. Parking is a bit tight, but I've never had a probably with it since it's never too busy. One of my favorite nurseries in the Valley. Though it's not the cheapest, the selection of plants and the customer service can't be beat. I love the selection of indoor plants, as well as seasonal ones. I will go here specifically for plant projects I have zero knowledge about because the guys that work here are always so helpful and willing to answer all of my questions. They also sell soil, pots, and some other potting supplies inside the shop. I honestly just love coming here to walk around and admire the plants, but I always end up taking something home. They also tend to have some pretty rare stuff! They can get busy on weekends but be sure to ask for help to your car if you need it. They are always willing to throw a plastic sheet down before loading your car up with your new plant friends. Overall great selection of plants and great customer service. read more

They are closed on Thursdays! The website does not list their hours, you have to call the phone number... as of today's recording they are open every day from 8AM to 4:30PM except Sundays hours are 9AM to 4PM. And again, closed Thursdays! I think I have spent money at every nursery in the west valley, and I have got the best results from plants I've bought here. Are my skills & luck improving? Or are their plants just a little more exceptional? (I think it's the 2nd one.) My interest is often roses -- which are top grade and awesome here. They are grown on site and I get the best HUGE blooms from them. As other reviewers have mentioned, Jon is a great resource. He's knowledgeable and gracious when asked for his expertise. You just may have to wait a little as he is popular! It's surprising what a large selection of plants there are when it doesn't look that big driving by on the boulevard. read more

Wow! What a great place. My first time in to buy an indestructible house plant. I had no knowledge, but I was lucky to be assisted by Jon, the owner! He set me up with my new 'Snake Plant'. He was amazing. I wanted to just stay there and watch and listen to him. So knowledgeable....great businessman too. The nursery is very well set up and has been there for 70 years! Like a lot of people, I just started getting into plants while in quarantine. I came to this nursery once last year and had a great experience, so it became my go-to nursery when I decided to take up more plants. Everyone who works here is super friendly and helpful. Jon is an expert, who is kind, patient, and professional. He's always very busy, but he really takes the time to answer each customer's questions and make them feel comfortable with their plant purchase(s), whether in person or on the phone. Every time I check out, he makes sure to use my name to thank me, which is a really thoughtful personal touch. Aside from Jon's horticultural expertise, this nursery has an amazing variety of plants! All of them are so well taken care of, and if they don't have a plant you're looking for in stock, they'll do their best to order one for you. So far, I've bought a monstera deliciosa, snake plant, variegated rubber plant, and dracaenas from here at really great prices. I'm looking forward to coming back here as I continue expanding my indoor garden. The only thing I wish they would expand on is the selection of planters. I bought a beautiful large ceramic planter here for my fiddle leaf fig, but I wish they had more selections for 6" and 8" pots, too. They accept credit card and have a free parking lot. Bought a flat of 16 small round containers of Kalanchoe a few weeks ago and paid $80 plus tax. Just returned to buy another flat of 16 and was told the price is $60 a flat. Been coming here 15 years and have made very large purchases. Another guy who took my credit card in the little enclosed area told me the price is $75 a flat. I was annoyed but agreed. I get my receipt and it has an additional charge of about $3 as a convenience fee (told for use of my credit card). My experience over the past years is that on many occasions the price quoted is different depending upon who is helping you, after which the price changes anyway when you make the actual purchase. The place used to be somewhat discounted when it came to big trees/hedge trees - seems like now, except for small plants - the big tree prices are very high. Anyway, not worth the stress - over this place, will go elsewhere. read more

I'm not sure if I caught them on an off day or what but my experience here was horrendous. No one wanted to help us, when I did ask for help I received attitude and a condescending tone from the owner Jon. When we did finally receive help we were dismissed and mocked for not having knowledge on the plants we were asking about. It was the strangest experience, we were made to feel unwelcome and a nuisance. If you're a newbie and wanting guidance, I would skip this place. I'll be taking my business to Green thumb nursery we're they are always so helpful, this place was a huge disappointment. read more

There are two people who buy plants. The people who buy 'em at Home Depot, and the people who buy 'em at small, privately owned nurseries. Before yesterday, I was of the former group. By dinner time yesterday, I am a proud member of the latter - and I will never go back. Perhaps you could call me a convert. Or healed. Or enlightened. First off, this place is like a magical little wonderland. There are gorgeous, well-maintained plants everywhere. Even if you're not a plant person, you'll enjoy walking down the little paths in here. You can really see that time and attention have been put into caring for each living thing on the property. They carry a really wonderful selection of pots at great prices too. Big shoutout to Chad who helped us out. His knowledge and passion for what he was doing was evident from the moment he said hello. Super accommodating, as I was ordering items from out of town and wanted them delivered locally. They spent a lot of time with me on the phone, answering my questions, and then delivered the trees for a very reasonable fee. So generous with follow up advice about how to care for the trees, too. And the trees are beautiful! I can't wait to go to the nursery in person some day! read more

Well maintained nursery with good prices. Nice selection of herbs too. Prices are reasonable. Some even cheaper than big box plant nurseries. Owner was there when I came to pick up lemon grass for our cat. This is a family-owned, very personal and good nursery in the Tarzana area. The owner, Jon, is extremely knowledgeable about plants and he has a nice selection of plant material, both indoor and outdoor as well as planting soils, pots, and accessories. The only downside are the fairly high prices for plants. Many prices are not marked on the plants themselves so it is unclear to customers what the selling prices are. However, any garden enthusiast will find this a fairly special place to visit and find something unique. read more

Nice nursery!!! It's not the biggest but definitely has a good selection of trees and indoor plants etc. I got the fiddle leaf fig there today, price is very reasonable. The reason they got a 4 stars instead of 5 because for lots of areas is very cramp and it's hard to walk through, I wasn't sure if I'm walking the actual path that customers suppose to walk through couple times while I was there. And the indoor plant area is definitely WAY too crowded! So many plants in this tiny room and I can't get to a lot of them. The owner though is very helpful which definitely makes the experience so much better. He also really knows what they have on inventory and helped me find the tree I called about earlier(and I'm very particular of what I'm looking for). And being all so tight together made some damages on the leafs, normally it wouldn't be too big of a deal, but for the fiddle leaf fig, the leafs are so big, you really can see the damage on them. But I figured leafs would fall and grow again, I do like the height and the shape, I'll just have to take it home and nurture it back to perfect in the future. :) Anyway, I would recommend this place and I'll be back again as well! :) read more

I wanted to make a little glass terrarium from an Apothecary jar so I needed to have some very specific plants that would work. I show up on one of the hottest days of the year, in a massive drought looking for miniature plants that can survive in a tiny humid environment LOL yeah... but guess what?! I got them! Jon was so helpful & showed me what plants would work, what kind of soil I needed and some charcoal. He made some great suggestions & I came home and went to work immediately. I purchased a small sansevieria and a little air plant, the soil, charcoal and a little succulent for another project and I think my total was about $14. what a deal. My mini garden will sit next to my kitchen sink under the window and I will enjoy it every day! He told me to take a photo when I was done, so I'm including it here :) thanks for your wonderful help - I'll be back when I need to make my succulent wall! read more
