This is the most helpful and well priced Nursery we have been to in months. They had everything we need and were so happy to answer all our questions. We needed a lot of Ligustrum bushes for our remodel and I spoke to Armando who helped us. We got great prices (compared to so many Other places) and they delivered them quickly. I waited over 30 minutes to be helped here. And nothing! I was also ignored and other costumers were helped before me. When I did talk to someone, they wanted to charge me a $50.00 delivery fee. I've been to MANY MANY nurseries in LA area, this place is definitely not the best in terms of how nice the place is kept. But they have SO many different types of trees/ground cover/flowers/shrubs/fruit trees etc here. And the price, OMG I have not seen anywhere that can come close! The place is huge and with probably only 3 or 4 workers as far as I see every time I go, they are all very friendly and helpful. Some times you might need to wait a little bit since it's their busy season to get their attention but that's cuz they really try to help each customer. I usually just wonder around to see what else they have to pass some time. Anyway, yes this place is a little rough around the edge but everything else is great and I will definitely come back and will recommend people to come and compare price first. read more

This place is HUGE. It's the kind of huge that requires a golf cart or a car to get around. It is several blocks long under a LADWP towers nestled in a residential neighborhood. It can be awesome or overwhelming depending on your needs and your level of patience. This place is actually a wholesale that is also open to the public. That means that most gardeners/landscaping contractors already know what they want and they call ahead for the plants. The staff would then find and pick them up and bring them to the office/parking area at the front. As a retail customer, you may enjoy walking around to just browse the huge varieties of plants OR you may get creeped out and/or frustrated. This is because you can be walking around for 15-30 mins and you wouldn't see a soul; no customer or staff is to be seen for what seems to be miles (this is on a hot weekday afternoon, it may be different in the weekend, I don't know). I was the first type, I enjoyed my time alone there. And when I am ready to ask questions and find the plants I want, the two staffs were knowledgeable and helpful. They know exactly where the plants were and they took me to the exact spot in a golf cart. They know their plants alright (as opposed to the staffs in Walmart when I don't bother asking them anymore because nobody seems to know anything). And they they helped me loaded the plants and cushioned them carefully in my SUV. Mind you, these are rather large tree seedlings. Overall I am very impressed with their customer service. The prices are cheaper than my local nursery. For the plants I was looking for, in general, the prices are around half the price of my local nursery. So, in conclusion: This nursery is not like Lowe's or Green Thumb or normal retail nursery/garden centers; I can see why some reviewers got frustrated with the lack of help. They can't handhold you as much but if you know what you're looking for, they really know their stuff. For a successful visit, my suggestion is for you to do your research in advance. Go with some ideas of what you want before you go there; know the names of plants and also how the plants look like. May the garden gods smile on you :). read more

I needed to buy soil, so was going to do so, but when I told them that I was going to put the tree in a container they told me that it was the wrong kind and to buy soil elsewhere. The guys that work here are really nice and helpful. I bought 6 agaves and 16 mexican feather grasses, a tree and some succulents. I was annoying indecisive, made 4 trips back and forth - Fermin and Armando (owner) were so patient and kind. The prices are good and they take great care of all the plants and trees. They are always working and the place is huge so they might not see you when you drive in; just shout hello!!! and they will find you :) I went to 5 diff nurseries to compare price, size, and quality this is my go to place from now on! I paid $3.50 for 1 gallon plants- that's about half the price as the Big Box stores. I bought about 30 plants for just over $100. I was greeted and received a lot of help with selection and loading. I will be recommending this to friends and returning for myself. read more

Was looking for lemon trees, and everyone has been sold out (early June). Special ordered 2 from Home Depot and never got a call back (still waiting 3 weeks later...). Looked for other nurseries, and stumbled upon Saticoy. Called at 7:30 in morning, spoke to a nice, knowledgable gentleman, and he told me the different varieties they had in stock, bearing fruit, 15 gallon size! Went over that afternoon and bought 2, and discovered their amazing and vast selection where everything I saw was very competitively priced. They loaded the trees very carefully in my SUV, and now I have lemon trees in my back yard. Saticoy Nursery is affordable, convenient, professional, and they have more selection and inventory than you can possibly imagine. Why waste your time and money at Home Depot??? I should give them one star but someone eventually helped me after an hour. I went in ready to spend some serious dough on some plants for my home. The guy noticed me and said he'd help me right away. Then someone else comes after me and he helped him instead. Apparently he was some important person. I was with my two small children and it was a hot day. I was walking around like a zombie basically around all the plants which most were not well taken care of and were drying up. Someone else noticed me and told me the other guy would help me quickly. I told him I just needed some climbing plants and a snake plant. He couldn't help me and told me to wait for the first guy. A whole hour went by without any help. I felt really dumb and some nice man by the name of Jesus stopped by and helped me see the plants and I was very thankful but he couldn't sell me anything. I was confused but thanks jesus for all your help and tips on the climbing plants. I decided not to buy anything because by that time a whole hour had passed and I needed to pick up my daughter at school. I won't come here again. read more

This is an amazing place, just huge and with great variety. After we decided upon our purchases and went over paperwork, a worker (sorry did not get his name!) brought out chilled bottle water for us! So thoughtful as it was 97 degrees out that day. The owner, Hermano, really knows his stuff. We purchased a large Podocarpus and medium sized Avocado tree from them - got great pricing on both compared to other nurseries. They delivered and planted them in our backyard this morning. Hermano answered all of our questions even about other trees in our yard that they did not sell us, and how to help them be their best. Some we could not figure out what they were, despite many online searches and with one look, he told us immediately what they were. You can tell he really loves trees and plants. He and his crew even relocated a small pepper tree for us at no extra cost, and watered our two new trees that they planted, as well as a number of our bushes. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
