I buy my Christmas tree here every year. They have the most gorgeous noble firs. Yes you can go down the street and get a cheaper tree from Home Depot or Lowes, but these trees are beautiful, will last through Christmas and I love supporting small businesses in my community. They are big supporters of their area, for years Mike donated poinsettias to a community event I organized. I just went by last night to get my tree and he gave my kids candy canes, they were so excited! Customer service is great, I love this place. read more

We needed to rent plants for a special church function and were recommended to Ultra Greens by someone with movie business contacts. Richard came out and surveyed the sanctuary and surrounding courtyard, made recommendations and the delivery/set up was made with no interruptions or drama. The plants we rented brought the presentation level of the sanctuary up several notches and parishioners as well as guests were equally delighted. read more

I went with Ultra Greens because my family and friends have had great experiences with them in the past. I on the other hand have not a good overall experience with them. I dealt with Mike on a sod order of just over $2700. We talked about delivery dates and he said that the date selected would not be a problem. Delivery was supposed to happen a month later because of demand for that variety of sod. The day before the delivery scheduled and agreed to Mike calls me to "remind me" that the delivery is "today". I reminded him that we had agreed to the following day. Mike casually responded with, "Oh, I must have forgotten to call and tell you that they only deliver that kind of sod on Tuesday's and Thursday's." To add insult to injury, the sod was delivered and left on the street with no warning what so ever that it was going to be left outside. I called Mike to find out why that happened and all he can respond with was, "I'm not the one delivering it, it came from the supplier." I told him that I don't care who it came from, I placed the order with Ultra Greens and that if the grass dies or is stolen, it's going to be Ultra Greens fault. After multiple phone calls, Ultra Greens sends a truck with a forklift to move the sod on to the driveway and cover it with a tent. When the drivers arrived they tell my wife that they can't get the sod in because of the tent. My tells them that the tent can be moved and she even proceeded to help them move the tent. Once the tent was moved, the driver and his assistant proceed to buy snow cones from a street vendor and lounge in the shade before moving everything. So now I have just over $2700 in sod sitting on my driveway, in a heatwave, a day before the crews are scheduled to come in to install the sod after we had agreed to delivery dates. I hope my sod doesn't go to waste. tl;dr Don't deal with Mike. I don't know about the rest of the people there. read more

To anyone out there looking to buy a fountain or landscaping your yard this is a place to go! Everything was handled so professionally. I had the pleasure of dealing with Mr. Sanchez, who runs the nursery, he was so very helpful! I purchased the Salvia from him! When I receive them they were so healthy and beautiful! I was amazed how healthy they were! Then I worked with his brother, Marcos, on purchasing a fountain. It took about one week, but then it came and they installed it! They were so careful not to crush the flowers that were there already. They laid down gunnysack around the area they would work in. When they were finished my fountain looked beautiful. They cleaned up after themselves and were very polite and answered every question I had. Thank you I would recommend this company to anyone! I had a great experience working with Richard and his crew. They came to my home and laid out a great plan for both my backyard and front yard. Very professional , all of the ultra green employees were very professional and hard working. I highly recommend anyone redoing their yard or adding to their yard space to give them a call. They planted a total of 14 palm trees and laid some grass sod down in some spots that were unable to grow grass. Thanks again to Richard and his crew for doing an excellent job. read more

Cute little place to get all your green needs. I recommend this location because it creates a unique experience when tree shopping especially when comparing it to Home Depot or Lowes. They have paved pathways outlined with pebbles, patio tables and chairs, and even a few creative lawn art all of which make a welcoming environment. The staff was friendly but not pushy. When it came time to leave they buckled our tree in nice and tight which allowed for a secure ride home. The prices are reasonable, maybe a bit more expensive but I personally think it's worth it for the experience. The majority of their trees are displayed, unlike Home Depots, Ralph's, and Lowes who typically have their trees stringed up, making tree-pickin' easy. Fun fact They even have mini candy canes for guests during the holiday season :) ahh, the simple things. . . Tip Free pen with purchase They offer delivery Not liable for damage if you take home the tree yourself read more

My name is Miguel L. Richard the owner came to our house to do an initial walk-through, our idea was simple, plain, and included no trees at all. Richard had a vision and he started to give us ideas on what we could do. It was the best decision that we ever could have made for our yard because he saw the big picture and he had long-term goals of seeing our backyard with a lot of privacy and a great set of trees and lights. We trusted his opinion and creativity, and it was a huge positive investment for us. My neighbors and family comment on the beauty of our backyard, and we give all the credit to Richard because he allowed us to have a great backyard for our kids to enjoy. Hands-down, Richard is reliable, honest, and accurate in every aspect of his service. Richard's top notch service made us feel like we were his only clients. Six months after our project was completed he still makes us feel like we are his only clients. Thank you. read more

So I love supporting local businesses and I've been a Sylmar resident for over a year now. I was looking for succulents and came here for the mostly good reviews. I walked in, took a look around for about 15 minutes and left. Why did I leave? Because no one acknowledged me. No one offered to help or ask if I had any questions. There were at least 10 people working there and not one person wanted my money. So I took my money to Lowe's and bought a bunch of succulents there. read more

I visited Ultra Greens after passing it on the off ramp of the freeway. This is a great place if you are buying plants or have questions with regards to landscaping etc. My dealings with Mr. Sanchez were great he is very knowledgeable and will give you a straight answer when you are looking to buy something. He is exceptional. On the other hand, due to my dealings with Mr Sanchez, I felt comfortable purchasing a fountain from Marco and although I was very happy with the fountain that cost $1,200 I accidentally gave the fountain installers 200 (installation) + 160 tip (I meant to give them 60). I immediately informed Marco who confirmed that I did give them $100 extra. Marco said to call him and he would try to get it back. He never got back to us and ducked me when I visited the facility. Look I was stupid to over pay the installers but you would think could customer service would be to say "hey why don't you pick out a couple plants to make it right". Either way ducking a customer is not the right way to do things. Go to Reseda Fountains. Biggest selection, better customer service. Additionally, I bought $1,100 worth of sod from Mike. I was told it would arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 Saturday morning. There was a mix up and then I was told it would arrive by 10. Long story short called Mike all day, no answer, only Mr Sanchez. Waited all day and the sod arrived at 4:00. No call no nothing. Do your self a favor, buy from Valley Sod. Exceptional staff very helpful, not a bunch of Jack Asses like Mike. read more

This place is amazing. We get our Christmas trees there every year and 2020 was no exception. The tree is GORGEOUS!!!

On April 17th one of their company trucks side swiped my rv's antennae which subsequently cracked my motorhome windshield. I was reading inside about two feet from where the impact happened. I identified the truck and I jumped in my car and tracked the driver down at a fast food restaurant about a quarter mile away. The driver was polite and courteous. I have contacted Mike (the boss) at UltraGreens twice via phone and emailed (per his verbal request) him photos of the damage (and the branch sticking out the side of the truck that did the damage). As of today I am still waiting to hear back from him on this. I would be wary of any business that treats situations like this with such disregard. My only next option is small claims court for the thousand dollar windshield replacement. Praying that this post might invoke some sort of response from Mike so i don't have to go through the legal hoops to get compensated properly for these damages. Thank you for reading. read more

I've purchase 4 trees from here all produce fruit each year. Just went and purchased plants with tomatoes on them already. They are always very helpful and knowledgeable about the plants. I love this nursery. They have so many Selections and so many plants and trees to choose from. They also have a very large selection of Water fountains. I was very pleased that the service workers who work there were so eager to help me understand how to care for the types of plants and materials we needed based on what I described to them. Everybody has their own opinion, However I did not experience one bad thing at this location. I will definitely be going back and I also noticed that if you call the front desk and explain the name of the flower or plant that they have sold you they will be more than happy to tell you how to keep that plant alive. They are very nice people and it was a pleasure working with them. If you plan on ever visiting this nursery, I recommend that you ask for Marco, that is the name of the gentleman who helped me and my husband make our backyard as beautiful as it is today. read more

These guys have plenty of informative staff who can discuss your plant needs. They will research the plant and confirm that they have the right one. If it isn't in stock, then they can order it. Their prices for 1 gallon are much better than the "garden centers" and "big box" stores. From experience, their prices are 40-50% lower and you get the size plant or tree you want, not just what the hardware store had shipped to them. read more

People can easily miss the fact that this place is there, but it is worth it. Recently I looked in three places for hibiscus and a crepe myrtle tree. This place not only had larger plants to show, but what they had was larger and less expensive than Green Arrow and West Hills, the two other places I had been to. I'm talking a price difference like $13 for a 4-foot hibiscus vs. $35! The only reason this was not a 5 is because it took a while for a salesman to appear. read more

I would like this place a lot more if all of their plants were clearly marked. You have to play the guessing game until you can flag down an employee. Also we were charged $19.99 for a plant that said $7.99 on the container. Don't know if it was mislabeled or if we were overcharged. read more

They have a policy if they plant the tree they guarantee it for a year. Had a tree replaced after the first four months.
