I was referred to Nick's Nursery by a friend and I told her how much I was going to spend at the other nursery. she said to contact them and get a quote on all of my plants. Which I did!!! My mouth dropped to the floor when they came back with the quote!! Their prices are sooooooo good!!! Now... I was a curious to see if I was going to get good plants for the price they were offering me. So we went to check them out in person to see the plants!!' We were beyong happy!! Their service was top notch ! The lady that works there gave us a tour of the nursery. The customer service I recieved from Juan was exceptional and he was very knowledgeable and very responsive anytime I had questions regarding anything relating to the process of plants. The biggest mistake I made building my backyard orchard was buying trees online before checking out Nick's. We had the best experience shopping for fruit trees here. You roll up to the office and someone helps you out. So don't expect a self-serve big box experience; there are no price tags. This is full service. Theresa was super helpful, knowledgeable, and a real hoot! The selection is so vast we had to hop in a golf cart to get to the stone fruit section. We found a burgundy plum that was healthy and full of flowers for WAY cheaper than the burgundy plum of the same height that we ordered online recently. I'm definitely coming back for some succulents. They had massive wine barrel planters for $75, something you'd see go for twice as much online or at Home Depot. If you want to support local business & stick it to big box, get your trees at Nicks. read more

Brand new to this place, haven't bought much yet, but I loved it - incredible plants, great customer service, amazing prices. But I wanted to mention that as I got out of my car and started walking around, I started feeling dizzy, my skin was tingling and my ears were buzzing - my wife pointed out the nursery is directly under some pretty impressive power lines. Like the 100-foot-tall 230 kV transmission towers. I haven't stood under those before, and realized pretty quickly it's a pretty weird feeling. (Maybe it makes the plants happier.) read more

Nick's Nursery is a great place to buy well cared for plants for your garden. The prices are reasonable and the shop's selection is wide and the plants are healthy. Plus the owner and everyone else working there are nice people. We bought several plants - Kangaroo Paws, Sage Junipers, Bottle Brush and an entire hedge row of Ficus plants. This is truly the Garden of Eden in the heart of the San Fernando Valley! They have an amazing selection of boxed trees and incredible prices. I live 2 hr away and will drive from now on to save money vs. getting ripped off by the big box stores. Big box stores offer no help, miss label trees and over charge. At Nicks the staff are amazing they know their stuff. I always buy more than I can put in my truck. Drought tolerant species in large containers are abundant. After searching all of the other nurseries in the area and finding only frustration, Nick's was a breath of fresh air. It has a MASSIVE variety of well maintained plants for a literal fraction of the price. We were helped by Junior, who knew his stuff and got our two beautiful trees delivered within the hour. I came here to say that they had vegetable starters. I was able to get a flat for around $20. The selection was in great in vegetables but at least they had them. I also got a great deal on a blueberry plant. And it's a much better deal than at Home Depot. I was happy with my purchase. I called a lot of other nurseries in the area as there are many in Sunland but a lot of them only carry ornamentals. read more

What a great find!!! Never again will I buy a plant at Home Depot after finding Nicks Nursery. I walked into this nursery after calling about a 15 gallon ficus for $35. Other local nurseries were selling the same ficus for $65. What a deal! As I roamed through the nursery I found other great deals as well. Reasonable prices and a great selection of succulents. I have learned it kind of depends when you go, I went last week and they had very few small succulents, but when I went yesterday they had a ton. And the prices are so great, that's probably why they run out so quickly! The small succulents are a great deal and I have a feeling I'll be coming by regularly now!
