If you are doing some landscaping and need more than a few plants then this is the place where you can get more bang for your buck. I love gardening and have pretty much done all the landscaping (planning) and a lot of the planting at my home. I think it is fun to design my planters and see them grow over the years. In 2006 I went to Classic Nursery and bought 6 (5 gallon) Majestic Beauty/Indian Hawthorn hedge plants to add as a border between my yard and my neighbor's driveway and now they're at least 6 feet tall. I've also purchased numerous rose bushes from Classic Nursery and their prices are much better than other places. If you know what type you are looking for then just ask Girardo. They carry most of the "Weeks Roses" and I think you can buy them for $8.00 each. Today I needed to create a plan for a huge planter by my front steps. I decided on getting some Iceberg roses because they always have flowers and they come in white, pink and burgundy. Girardo, who runs the Sun Valley location for Classic Nursery is always there and he gave me some great ideas on what companion plants would look nice with the burgundy Iceberg roses that I decided to get. There is a new Dwarf Lantana that has pretty pink and yellow flowers so I got three of those to put between and in front of the burgundy roses. Then I got a flat of yellow Marygolds which go with the yellow in the Lantana, some white Alyssum and multi colored Petunias to go in the front of the bigger plants. Classic Nursery has amazing prices. The Iceberg roses were $13.00 each and the Lantana were $10.00 each. The flats of all the other flowers were $10.00 each. Had I gone to Armstrong Garden Center I would have paid twice as much. They also sell planting compost, any kind of roses you need, trees, cactus and various hedge plants. Just give Girardo a call if you are looking for something and he'll tell you if he has it. Note: Bring your own plastic to protect the interior of your vehicle. Super helpful in my endless quest for socal-plants to fill up our garden; here is a pic of what I got as well as some of the items I added to our walkway last night. There was one man there who helped with everything and I thought he was owner but he he said no...however, this is same person I believe everyone says to ask for. Hope that helps. He had great advice on things I already got and still wanted to get that will be mostly for shaded areas of our lawn. Best deals for the size of their tons of succulents. Also there wasn't much selection right now, however the grown cover prices on flowers were only 10 bucks a palate. read more

Classic Nursery was wonderful! We recently purchased hedges from Moon Valley and one of them straight up died but they refused to come replace it unless it was out of pocket and the delivery and planting fee was almost $150 since we only needed the one ($150 each even if we wanted more!) .... even though we had purchased over a dozen hedges from them. Rather than give them our money and business, we decided to call up Classic since they are right behind where we live. Oh my gosh, the prices are GREAT here!! they were about HALF the cost of the other places and the delivery and planting fee was also insanely fair! I am regretting not just calling these guys first when we had our other plants ordered, because it would have saved us at least $1000 bucks! They were able to come and replace the dead ficus next day for us, and it looks great! I am done with the other nursery and will be buying the rest of my plant from classic from now on as we re-landscape our home! It's definitely SAFE for women to shop alone at Classic Nursery unlike what I read about another nursery close by. I met both Sam and Gerardo. Gerardo was very helpful and explained what my options are available as far as picking a tree. Gregorio walked with me to show me the roses and succulents and helped me load up my car. We were replacing our grass lawn with decomposed granite, and searching for drought resistant trees and plants. My wife and I were immediately greeted by George when we arrived. He helped us choose some drought resistant trees and plants. He also set aside everything we selected, and encouraged us to shop around. After visiting other nurseries, it was apparent that Classic Nursery had the best prices and service. Classic Nursery isn't the biggest nursery in the valley, but they have a wide selection. This is the largest nursery I have seen with huge selections and helpful knowledgeable staff. The prices are very reasonable and will be my go to nursery from now on. Great succulent selection! Classic Nursery has been my go to place for landscapping for 20 years or more. Great price, great variety, great advice, and they remember my name when I go there which is only occassionally. I know it is the choice of professionals, because it is a huge plot of land, where they grow from seedlings thousands of plants. But as a home owner with occassional needs for a shrub or a tree or few items they are just perfect. I wanted to purchase 2 ficus trees for my front door neighbor and was recommended by her next.door neighbor to call Classic Nursery. I.told Geraldo what I was doing for my 90 year old disabled neighbor and we set up a delivery to the location for planting the trees. I paid by credit card prior to deliver and met his crew on that date at the location for planting explaining where to plant the trees. Then upon returning my front door 90 year old nrighbor who I bought the trees for called me to ask me what happened with the trees. Apparently her neighbor who had recommended me to Geraldo told his crew to plant them in his yard instead of the 90 year old disabled lady,'s ysrd instead. I called Geraldo and asked for a refund for the trees and they refused because for some reason instead of issuing the receipt in my name they.put in her neighbord name instead even though I had called to place the order myself. Paid for it and even explained who the trees were for. I myself a dissabled senior citizen am truly surprised that they did this. I myself will never do business with these people again and if you are disabled or a senior citizen or both beware. read more

this place is located in a convenient location off the freeway. relatively easy to fine. The manager is nice and took the time to explain the products like outdoor plants. would recommend anyone who is close to the area. make sure to wear hats and put on sunblock and stay hydrated because the outdoor area gets really warm under the sun. read more

I purchased a groupon for this nursery. At first glance when you get there it seems like they have a great selection but when you get closer it's alot of the same thing or the plants were in average to poor condition. I was hoping to purchase some oleanders but they were all bug infested. I buy alot of flowers & shrubs & I have never seen anything like that before. Overall, its a decent place especially if you want to purchase large trees, palms or roses. Just not one of the better nurseries I've been to. read more

Don't go there, they do not deserve your business. We had purchased one groupon per person (as indicated on the groupon and we had confirmed) but the guy insisted that it was suppose to be per household. Well that's not what it clearly says on the Groupon. We have an entire backyard to landscape and purchased the groupon to buy a few plants for our frontyard to check out what kind of plants they had and see if it was worth making the trip, however the service was just so terrible that there's no way we would be giving them our business. Too bad for the owners of Classic Nursery. You lost a potential customer with your bad business ethics and your ad hoc rules that you implemented because the Groupon thing was not working for you. The guy did say that if we had purchased a ton more products at that time he would have "bent the rules" (that they just made up), and allowed us to use it per person. I'm in town visiting my dad in Burbank and I wanted to spruce up the garden outside his condo. I was referred to Classic Nursery by a friend who noticed their trucks delivering to his neighbor's house. I see they have a Sun Valley location and a Tarzana location. The Sun Valley one is more convenient to my dad's house so I checked it out first. They are located under the power lines on Laurel Canyon Boulevard just north of Sheldon. It was easier to find than I thought it would be. There is a long driveway down the center with a huge selection of plants on both sides of the driveway. I was immediately drawn to the huge field of roses near the front of the nursery. The sales associate was helpful in directing us towards drought-tolerant plants and advised us what soil amendments are recommended for our planting project. I was impressed with the amount of personal service I received. I will be back and plan to also visit their Tarzana location. read more

My wife and I visited the nursery under the power lines on Sunday to redeem a Groupon coupon. Although they don't carry basic vegetable garden type items, they have a huge assortment of roses, shrubs, and trees. The man helping us was extremely helpful, and knew his stuff, and exactly where things are located in this huge lot. Worth a look for anyone needing landscaping plants! read more
