Great selection of any kind of roses, including Weeks Roses, and the prices are very low.

If you are doing some landscaping and need more than a few plants then this is the place where you can get more bang for your buck. I love gardening and have pretty much done all the landscaping (planning) and a lot of the planting at my home. I think it is fun to design my planters and see them grow over the years. In 2006 I went to Classic Nursery and bought 6 (5 gallon) Majestic Beauty/Indian Hawthorn hedge plants to add as a border between my yard and my neighbor's driveway and now they're at least 6 feet tall. I've also purchased numerous rose bushes from Classic Nursery and their prices are much better than other places. If you know what type you are looking for then just ask Girardo. They carry most of the "Weeks Roses" and I think you can buy them for $8.00 each. Today I needed to create a plan for a huge planter by my front steps. I decided on getting some Iceberg roses because they always have flowers and they come in white, pink and burgundy. Girardo, who runs the Sun Valley location for Classic Nursery is always there and he gave me some great ideas on what companion plants would look nice with the burgundy Iceberg roses that I decided to get. There is a new Dwarf Lantana that has pretty pink and yellow flowers so I got three of those to put between and in front of the burgundy roses. Then I got a flat of yellow Marygolds which go with the yellow in the Lantana, some white Alyssum and multi colored Petunias to go in the front of the bigger plants. Classic Nursery has amazing prices. The Iceberg roses were $13.00 each and the Lantana were $10.00 each. The flats of all the other flowers were $10.00 each. Had I gone to Armstrong Garden Center I would have paid twice as much. They also sell planting compost, any kind of roses you need, trees, cactus and various hedge plants. Just give Girardo a call if you are looking for something and he'll tell you if he has it. Note: Bring your own plastic to protect the interior of your vehicle. They don't have this available.

Everything is very expensive here. Other places offer cheaper prices and better service.

It took a crew of 8 to 10 people to bring the tree in and get it planted, and they did an incredible job with the placement. They walked me through exactly what I needed to do to care for it, especially during that crucial first year. I've also had two visits from their MVP Pro Care team, and Kevin, Alba, and Travis Zack were fantastic. They showed up on time, gave me a heads up before arriving, and took the time to explain what they were doing and how I should continue caring for the tree to keep it healthy. They were professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their work. Overall, working with Moon Valley has been easy and seamless. I highly recommend them for large tree installations or any yard plants you're considering. They really know their plants and how to care for them properly.

Local nurseries on Marketplace sell the same trees with nowhere near the 200% markup, and the service is often better. I paid $10,000 for what turned out to be the smallest, thinnest, already-dying privacy hedges. Completely overpriced and disappointing. They even sent out an "arborist" after I raised concerns. I specifically pointed out that one tree was thin and dying. She did nothing, left it in place--and now the tree is completely dead. Never again. I learned a very expensive lesson due to lack of knowledge and experience. Hopefully you don't have to. Learn from my wallet. I'm still stuck with a dead tree.

But there must've been some pesticide overspray on the plants from Monarca because my caterpillars all died. I watched some of them twitching violently before they died. I visited this nursery once before and was impressed by the large number of milkweed plants in stock. The owner even showed me a green Monarch chrysalis that was attached ito a piece of drip tubing. I didn't even think about the pesticide aspect until my caterpillars died. If you don't care whether or not they use pesticides then sho here but if you're trying to raise Monarch caterpillars, then you should go contact the people at This Is a Monarchy, which is up in Thousand Oaks. These people are very careful even about the fertilizer they use and use zero pesticides. You have to call them and make an appointment because it's a private residence. They're the ones who told me what probably happened to my poor caterpillars. I still feel bad about them!

Their worker Keith told us…read moremultiple times that the olive I was looking at would cost $800 alone or $1200 with delivery and install. Went back a week later and the manager working there states the tree is now "1500" at its lowest without delivery or install. Not to mention, the manager had a horrible attitude treating us as if we didn't know what we are talking about when we have years of landscape experience when designing our developments. I have been to 20 nurseries all across Los Angeles and these "Wilsoni" Olive at 7 ft cost between $450-650 without delivery. The manager then turns around and says "you must have not been to Moon Valley" trying to say their prices are so much cheaper when in reality their place is a rip off and Moon Valley is the rip off or rip offs. ALSO, when purchasing from them make sure to check the trees. The Standard Groups olive trees had major scale infection (black bumps fully covering branches), peacock spots on the leaves which you can tell when the yellow leaves have brown circles at the tips or in them, and a good majority of the leaves had bite marks from an infestation. You would think if they're charging a premium they'd at least have healthy trees. I will be going elsewhere to give my business to more knowledgeable, kind, and correctly priced for their quality businesses.
