I've been coming here for years. I don't know why I took a break I guess because it's not really geographically desirably. I finally made it back here and WHO CARES IF IT'S NOT AROUND THE CORNER?!? What was I thinking?!?!?!Drive if you have to, it's worth it!. 1st: the People.smart, sweet, knowledgeable and funny, yea, that's a bonus. 2nd: Inventory. I've never gone there said, "do you have_______" and had them say "No". They just have everything. 3rd: Variety. In tomatoes alone I could spend a week's paycheck, but you won't because their prices are so competitive. 4th: Healthy Plants. I went to a chain nursery last year to get some rose bushes and many of the plants had aphids. I mentioned that to the guy watering nearby. He said, "They got insecticides inside that will kill them". Dude, I'm not buying an aphid infested plant! Anyway, Sego Nursery's plants are pristine , most are already flowering and many of the tomato plants already had flowers and fruit on them. It's worth the drive! And if you can't find a space in their parking lot (it's a bit small) don't wimp out, go around the block, part on the street) it's worth it.

THE go to nursery for 40 years! Excellent service spiked with a unique attitude by longterm owners who ate experts on local growing . And the cat

I have been living in North Hollywood for the last 30 years and this is the first time I walked in to Sego Nursery. I have passed it many times but never went in. Today for some reason I decided to stop by and check it out. I love buying outdoor plants, perennials. I was surprised how disorganized everything was. I got a bit overwhelmed. But I did find two beautiful perennials for my front yard and already planted them. Let's see if they will last. I have to agree with my fellow Yelpers about customer service. It's unfriendly and poor.

A great selection of plants including lots of vegetable starts that got us started on our first garden. They are helpful and knowledgeable.

They were super helpful and redirected me away from bad planting choices, and helped load it all into my car.

A whole lot more. They also sell food, seeds, roots, soil, small, medium, large pots, different styles and colors of everything. Very durable and a tad expensive for my budget. Pots for your plants are so gorgeous. They do landscaping for people who own gardens (does not apply to me) and all the work the employees put in to those plants to make their customers happy and satisfied is a huge recognition. Employees are very knowledgeable, nice, and helpful. Also caring and understanding. A friend of mine had given me an indoor plant for my birthday last year and lasted me for a whole entire year and 3 months. It took the last breath and I went to them asking for help. It was a bit late. I am more of a flower girl than owning plants. I have had plants in my younger years. I ended up buying 2 new outdoor plants to put outside of my window/door. It looks very pretty. I have also purchased a Christmas tree from their lot twice. Established in 1889. That should say a lot about this lovely, beautiful garden/nursery. Big parking lot right in front of the nursery/shop, and 2 clean bathrooms. Thank you all.

While she was finishing it up, I wandered around their back garden area - and again was just reminded at how extraordinary it is that this oasis exists right in the middle of the city - it's literally like a small national park with all the fountains and waterfalls and stunning Landscaping - And just needed to again remind anybody anywhere between Burbank and Santa Monica - if you love stunning landscaping, gorgeous stonework water fountains, waterfalls, and breathtaking architecture... You absolutely have to stop by this extraordinary haven. On a sidenote - the owners love to stock up on handcrafted hand poured artisanal candles, soaps, and lotions, from the same shops that are stocked in five star resorts... But at half the price!!! So it's a great place to pick up gifts while you're there.
