Instead of showing me what was available, the owner became hostile and condescending, insisting I needed to be more specific even though I explained I didn't know what variants existed. When I said I just wanted to see what was available for my nephew, he pushed back again, saying he had too many and didn't put them out. At that point I told him I'd just take the single comic I had in hand. On my way out, I let him know I had been ready to spend a couple hundred dollars but instead left with only a $5 purchase. His attitude literally drove me out of the store. I would not recommend doing business here. There are plenty of other comic shops in Los Angeles, not to mention online options, where you don't have to deal with this kind of attitude.

I understand that they don't want people pulling a Barnes & Noble by reading books for free. However, I wish I could just look at the first page before buying, so I 100% have to go by online reviews. What keeps this at 4 stars for me is the warm reception I get every time I enter the store and the friendliness at checkout.

We were mainly here for the Baldur's Gate 3 blind bags for the beautiful oversized d20's but checked out all the other cool stuff they have here! I believe the owner is Mandie and she was super sweet and had great energy when my bf and I dropped by! We managed to pull a Rare (Mizora) and a Rare (Halsin) which was really cool from just buying two packs. They have other cool merch like pokemon, final fantasy, dnd, and even some anime stuff. Highly recommend checking this shop out and supporting local businesses! Great place to buy a gift for anyone. Prices are a bit more than retail but nothing too crazy. I was slightly disappointed after visiting for their Black Friday deals. They promised 100 doorbuster deals, but that turned out to be far from true. This video game store, located in the heart of SFV, is a pretty cool place if you're into games. The staff is great, always friendly and kind. However, there are over 10 other game stores within a 10-mile radius, and the prices here are consistently higher than any of those. For Black Friday, they offered 35% off, which seemed like a good deal, but their prices were still much higher to begin with. For example, a GameCube here costs $180, and with the 35% discount, it came down to about $120. But down the street at Retrorespawn, a GameCube was $100, and on Black Friday, they had a 25% discount, so you could grab one for $75. See the difference? Overall, my Black Friday experience here left a bad taste. I was number 11 in line (you can spot me in their video wearing a Megadeth shirt). When I entered the store at number 11, most of the doorbuster deals were already gone. How is that possible if there were 100 items per store and only 10 had been taken before me? And everyone is limited to just 1 doorbuster deal. Plus, I didn't see any Switch Lites, which I had hoped to get for $30. I saw everyone's doorbuster pick and none of them had the switch so where is it? The deals did not seemed to add up. What really threw me off was that they let someone in before the doors even opened, and we all saw him walk out with bags of stuff. We were all wondering how that was allowed. By the time I got in, I only managed to snag a Joy-Con for $20, which was a good deal, but I definitely didn't see the 100 items they promised. Something didn't add up, and it left me feeling like I wasted my time. I'd recommend checking out other game stores before buying here. The staff is great, but things just don't seem to add up. read more

Had an awesome experience at LA Video Games in Sherman Oaks! Abel went above and beyond to help us from the moment we walked in. My daughter had been searching for a specific game, and he took the time to help us find exactly what she wanted without making us feel rushed. We also traded in one of our games, and the trade-in value was fair and transparent, which is something you don't always find. I heard about a New video game store coming to this area from a friend and Idk what I expected but when I walked in.. I WISH this was a bigger store.!!! You can test out games and buy some super cool Merchandise, the T shirts are sooo awesome..!!! You literally don't find this stuff anywhere around here. They helped me bring back my childhood by dealing with an N64 that was not sending video signal through an aftermarket power and Av cable from Amazon. The first employee immediately looked at me, and with a pretty obvious attitude said, "We only buy games before 6:30." Okay... how exactly was I supposed to know that? There was no prior reason for me to know their cutoff time, and it could have easily been communicated in a much more professional and respectful way. I decided not to make a big deal out of it and figured I'd browse the store and maybe buy something instead. Another employee asked if I needed help, and I told him I was just browsing. A little later, I asked him about some of the games on the wall and whether they were used. He said yes. I then asked what the games typically cost, expecting a simple answer from someone who works there. Instead, I was told, "You can just go check the sheet on the side to see what the games are worth." Seriously? I'm a customer asking a basic question about your store's inventory and pricing. I shouldn't have to feel like I'm bothering employees by asking for information. There's a huge difference between being busy and simply having poor customer service. It's absolutely no one's fault that most of you are virgins. Anywho, I walked in willing to sell some games and potentially spend money, and I walked out thinking, I'll take my business somewhere else. The video game selection may be decent, but customer service matters. If this is how customers are treated when they walk through the door, I can't recommend this place. Don't waste your time with these jerkoffs.

I guess it's their second location in LA? The store brought back so many memories. The outside display had the old school TVs with playing some N64 games. It was really cool. Inside the store, you saw all sorts of merchandise from Game Boy games, Dreamcast, Gamecube, N64, Nintendo, and even more current game systems like the PS5 and switch. There were so many collectibles inside the store. I ended up spending about 45 minutes just looking through all of their offerings. They have a lot of the older games for sale too. Many of them are used. I'd recommend taking a few pictures, and if possible, trying out some of the cartridges if you can, before leaving just to make sure everything works! It was a fun store to browse and look around. There was even a poster of the songs from the Zelda Ocarina of Time on the wall. Really cool place!
