DJ's Universal Comics is located at Universal City in Los Angeles (a few miles away from Universal Studios Hollywood). It is a nice cozy comic book store but packed with lots of Pop Culture Collectibles Ranging from of course Comic Books (From Graded, Modern, Bronze, Silver, and Golden Ages), Trade Paper Backs, Action Figures, Collectibles, and a lot of Pop Culture Assortment! Cat, the owner is a cool, and down-to-earth individual who treats his customers (may they be new or regulars) as VIPs. He has extensive knowledge of comic books and if you need something, he will assist you right then and there. First time visiting and shopping at his store, the ambiance is cozy and you feel relaxed and worry-free browsing around his easy-to-navigate back issues of comic books. Need to find cool gifts? DJ's Universal Comics lineup of toys is massive from cool action figures, gaming cards, and Funko Pops (huge assortment to select and shop!). There are times that the store conducts in-store signings and meet-and-greet events of your favorite Celebrities, Comic-Book Creators, and Comic-Book Artists. And if you cannot make it in person, feel free to reach out and interact on their social media live streams in IG: @djsuniversalcomics Overall a Highly Recommended Comic Book Shop with a very large assortment of comic books and with an awesome owner to assist you, so when you leave his shop you carry that cool collectible! and that priceless smile of satisfaction!

This store is a nice LCS (local comic shop) servicing the So Cal area of Los Angeles' Valley. It's not large in store space size, but their inventory seems to fill the space nicely providing a good solid selection as well as a variety of categories from comic books to toys/figures/statues and graphic novels/trade paperbacks. The one thing lacking here as with most LCS are vintage comic book back issues, especially high end high grade key silver age super hero books. I know those are rare and scarce for stores to stock as well as expensive inventory items with typically lower profit margins 'tho. This store earned it's 4th * star by the owner's comments about how he likes to turnover inventory frequently, so that the same 'ol unsold stale dust collector's aren't stockpiling and visitors can look forward to something market fresh and new to the store. I think that's a refreshing attitude of not being complacent and turning a store into a warehouse of stuff nobody wants. With so many conventions and online options, the LCS is a dying breed, but truth be told, it's a safe haven for fans to come to have great conversations and engagement. I don't live in The Valley, but I'd most certainly take the 45 min drive over here for the right reasons such as any in-store signings with comic book creators or any opportunities to pick up bargains on sale.

He got me all set up and on my way! Thank you so much! See you soon!

Let me start off by saying, I haven't walked into a comic shop nor opened one in 10-15 years. That being said, I walked in and met the nicest owner. Not only is he helpful but patient as well. I may have asked the most basic questions, but he took his time with everything. I appreciate that because i was walking in feeling out of place. The store will have my business from now on! Also, I'd like to add I was not the only one there and he knew how to evenly help all of us! Thank you so much DJ's and I can't wait to start up again! (Also, I'm just a reader jumping back into these stories, not a collector, if that helps anyone reading this.)

Cat has been in business for years and always takes care of his customers. I have been a customer of his since before he had this location.

The staff is beyond friendly and, even though this location is small, it has a fantastic array of comics and other collectables. Even with my pull list at their other location, I always find something I have to pick up on my quick visit. They also have fantastic signings here throughout the year so there's a good chance that you can meet either one of your favorite writers or be introduced to your next obsession. My only complaint isn't even their fault & it's the parking. Like most of this area of NoHo, it's all limited street parking with meters or you're going to have to cross your fingers that you can find something in the residential streets in the area. But honestly, it's worth it. If you live in the area and are looking for your new favorite neighborhood shop, this is it.

The stock is about what you would find in any other comic shop, with the added benefit of being more expensive. I came in today, a Monday, to shop back issues, but the back issue bins were blocked, and covered in the new comics due out on Wednsday, with big signs thwt say "do not touch". I would guess this is why every other comic book shop on the planet has limited or no hours on TUESDAY to prepare Wednesday books. Either way, 25% of the store, you know the stuff collectors want, is unavailable to even shop. There are better and more hospitable shops in Burbank.

Of course the best time to go to make sure they have it in stock are Wednesdays. VIntage comics can be found in bins, the wall, or the front case near the register. CGC slabs are also on hand. Prices are usually on par with the market. Just ask Paul and the rest of the crew for anything you need, they're pretty knowledgeable and willing to help. Even though I am not the one to call on when wanting to have your likeness sketched; I do appreciate the art of drawing and am drawn (pun intended) to individuals who are illustrators/artists/etc. These people, although NOT comic book nerds (I draw the line at that -another pun!) can delineate quality comic books, graphic novels and art books. My boyfriend, who is an esteemed Hollywood 3D animation artist with a long list of credits to his name (so proud of him!); is an artist inside and out and we recently followed our curiosity into House of Secrets: comic book/graphic novel/collectibles shop in Burbank. House of Secrets is a 35+ year old local business originally holding down the fort in La Canada-Flintridge before its current real estate at the corner of Olive and Lamer not far from the Warner Bros Studio lot. From the exterior, House of Secrets looks like a regular ole' storefront but it lives up to its moniker because its doors truly open to an immersive art-filled comic book store that is unlike many I have seen (not that I have been to THAT many). House of Secrets has the vibes akin to the coolest record store you can imagine with a main room filled with bins and shelves of comic books, graphic novels and other art books from rare and back copies to modern-day releases all beautifully organized and tidy making any OCD-afflicted individual (me) overjoyed. House of Secrets is a world of color and print and even supplements the actual merchandise stock with posters on the ceiling and laminated into the floor tiles. Every inch of House of Secrets is a work of art. But if that isn't enough, House of Secrets features side rooms giving it an art gallery vibe with even more comics/books plus art from local artists for sale. Frankly, House of Secrets is 'cool' even for someone like me who isn't a comic book nerd and not a part of the world of graphic novels due to it being an art paradise. House of Secrets is an experience that is interesting to check out simply for the ambiance. The customer service at House of Secrets is also top-tier as my boyfriend who knows a little more about the merch sold at the shop than I do; asked for a particular piece and the gentleman working (I am assuming one of the owners) immediately had answers and knew what he was talking about which was also reflected when overhearing him answer other customer's questions. Plus, he wasn't annoyed that we were hanging in the store near closing time! I've noticed that I often feel very uncomfortable in specialty niche stores especially if out of my hobby element but somehow felt fine at House of Secrets. They are welcoming and friendly to all who enter their threshold. I can't comment on the pricing at House of Secrets and whether they overcharge or excel in this aspect as well because I do not know enough about the products to even remotely know proper pricing. Word on the streets is that House of Secrets also holds events and author signings! House of Secrets is an incredible local Burbank business that is exceptional for comic book lovers but also 'fun' for those who may be lesser so; but appreciate art and print. Definitely check out House of Secrets when in the Burbank area!
