Also, please refer to market on tcg player or any other store around for market pricing. Also I went to a store 1.5 miles from you guys and was able to get mega dreams for $85. I would strongly suggest you review you pricing and consistency. Thank you I bought Pokémon cards and comic books. On my first visit, the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the workers even called the owner to work with me on pricing and was able to bring it down to fair market value at the max price while still honoring the store's point system. Even though prices were generally higher than other local shops, the experience felt fair, and I spent over $1000. I came back the next day excited to buy more. The owner did not raise prices, but he refused to give me the same pricing he approved the day before and removed the point rewards that were previously honored, with no clear explanation. I was not asking for a deal, a discount, or special treatment. I am not a scalper. I openly collect and open cards. I was simply asking for fair market pricing, even at the max market value. They told me they price at market value and showed me a specific site. That same site showed lower prices, yet I was told those higher prices are just their prices, despite knowing other stores nearby sell the same products at normal market value. I still spent close to $700 on the second day, but when the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt, it honestly hurt to say no because I knew I would not be coming back. I did make sure to tell the cashier this was not on him. He was genuinely kind and helpful, and I thanked him. Summary of issues: 1. Prices consistently above online and local market. 2. Inconsistent pricing and point system from one day to the next. 3. Point rewards removed without explanation. 4. Claiming market pricing while refusing to honor it. Walked in yesterday to buy a scarlet & violet prismatic super premium box for my son's 9th birthday present. We are not Pokémon experts by any means and didn't think I was going to get ripped off. I like to support local businesses. My son wanted to buy an elite trainer box today luckily this place closed at 8pm, so we went to check out Crown City Games in Pasadena. That prismatic super premium box I purchased here for $380 was $300 at Crown City games. I can see maybe $30 difference maybe even $50 but $80 that's ridiculous. My bad for not researching before going in but never thought I'd get scammed. Will definitely never come back here again and if I were you I'd check out Crown City Games beforehand. read more

This store handled a signing event with clear incompetence and poor planning. They advertised an RSVP event for 350 guests but failed to deliver, leaving attendees waiting up to 8 hours. After people had already waited 6+ hours, they changed the rules mid-event, which was completely unacceptable for any paid or ticketed experience. On top of that, the comics sold for the event were not properly checked for quality, with many arriving in visibly imperfect condition despite being sold at $30-$75 each. Customers paid for an organized signing experience and instead got delays, rule changes, and poor product quality. Responsibility was also placed on the CGC facilitators, who had to manage frustrated attendees without proper support from the store instead of witnessing the signing inside. This event was mismanaged from start to finish, and the store should be held accountable for failing to deliver what was promised. Howard, Legacy Comics and Cards, Dan Quintana, and along with the event organizers, need to take accountability for this experience. If you are going to host large-scale signing events, you must be prepared to execute them properly. At a minimum, affected customers deserve compensation for the poor service and unfulfilled promises. read more

I love the new store. The aisles are not as cramped on Wednesdays, and there's much more space to maneuver. But where are the back issues? Or even the specialty oversized editions? Most of the space seems to be given to the card side, so tables seem to take a majority of the space. Also, the top shelf of comics seem inaccessible for those of us just browsing. Otherwise the staff is pretty helpful and very welcoming. New comics are in abundance and I love that they stock variant covers and incentives (while supplies last) more so than many other comic stores. read more

Ever since Legacy moved across the street the experience has gone downhill in every possible way. Customer service is dismissive and unhelpful, the atmosphere has lost the welcoming energy it once had and it feels like the focus on building community has been replaced with indifference. This used to be a store I was excited to support but the change in location seems to have come with a change in attitude and not for the better. Consistency, respect for customers and basic follow through are all sorely lacking now. It's disappointing to see a shop with so much potential just disregard the standards that originally made it worth visiting. Until Legacy makes a real effort to improve customer service and return to the quality that earned them their reputation in the first place I can't recommend them. read more

Great Staff, Open Gaming Tables for whatever card game fits your fancy, and the ability to purchase gear like Card Sleeves, Deck Boxes, and Booster Packs is a great experience. Prices are amazing too. Was able to pick up some much needed card sleeves for about $40. Way lower than what I am used to in my home state. And while I could not partake because I did not bring my commander deck with me, their commander nights are a great way to get into Magic the Gathering with a welcoming community. read more

I've never been to a card shop that gave issues when trying to buy MTG cards. At first, I thought it was because I was a woman and with my boyfriend, but reading the reviews here, it apparently seems that they just don't want to make sells to Magic players. We went in on a slow day and asked for two cards. The employee said he didn't know how to pick them, and the "magic guy" would be there two hours later. My boyfriend offered to help point out which boxes on the wall the cards are in, and the employee said he doesn't know if the boxes are accurate. Uhh... then why are they labeled so specifically then if they're not accurate? Like, I'm sorry that you're too busy picking songs on Spotify and checking your phone literally 30min after opening that you can't take the time out to help make a sale, but come on. It also seems to be specific to the card part of the store as well. I've bought some anime standees before and didn't have issues, but apparently they just seem to hate doing any card related work. I love supporting my LGS/LCS but we're going to be supporting elsewhere from now on. read more

A well-stocked store filled with current as well as older reads, graphic novels and the like. They also sell other things of endearment such as trading cards, collectibles and such. This is such a frustrating store. Every time I come here there's always an excuse as to why I can't get a couple of singles pulled. The staff never seem like they want to help or that I'm bothering them. I used to come here with some 20 card lists but after understanding that that many cards list need to be emailed I started to follow that but since then there's been multiple times that I've had to wait literal days for my lists to be pulled. Now I try to go in with lists of less than 10 cards and it's the eye rolls, the deep sighs from the staff that make me not want to return. This place is a little odd. Stacked to the brim with products which is very cool but everything is a little disorganized and cluttered. Which isn't a big deal, except when I started going through an opened and readily accessible box of Magic singles and was told I wasn't allowed to touch them until the "Magic guy" returned from lunch. So I waited for him to return. Had to use the restroom while waiting and was directed to go down the street to a restaurant. When "Magic guy" returned and I told him I didn't know the rules and had pulled out some singles I was reprimanded once again that I wasn't allowed to touch the cards. Don't have your products out and available and then reprimand your customers for doing what every other card shop allows. I was in LA a few weeks back for a cousins wedding. by my hotel it was this card shop. I headed there in the morning to check the Pokemon cards out. bought a few singles for my cousin. when I was showing him the cards he decided to take the sleeves out. we discovered that 5/6 pokemon cards I bought seem to be fake. I don't know if they did that on purpose or someone sold it to them like that and they didn't know. I'm hella pissed now because now Everyone thinks there gifts are fake too. read more

Their stuff I've dealt with are super awesome, and since they're an LGS if you give them a list of cards they'll check stock and try to get you what you need at a good/fair price. Bandai TCG Plus players: Do not come here. Especially avoid if you play Union Arena. 3/16 Legacy Comics & Cards posted a rare battle at 2PM on Bandai TCG Plus. Players showed up and the store decided to cancel the event day of. Why? They made the decision to reserve enough table space for their Pokémon Prerelease event. No attempts to accommodate outside of "we're going to reschedule to a later date." Legacy Comics & Cards was suppose to follow through with an event when they host through the Bandai App. It's in the agreements in order to get promo products. Several players including myself decided to try this store out, only to be shown the door. With Rare battles being a limited time event, best believe we will not be returning because as there are so many other stores that won't pull this BS on us. Oh, and the store is filthy. read more

While I've scaled back on my comic purchases over the years, this shop remains a reliable source for all kinds of new weekly releases. The customer service vibe can vary--it really depends on who's working, just like anywhere else. That said, I usually don't have many questions and can easily find things on my own. Howard, the owner, has always been kind and professional, and I've had nothing but positive experiences in my few interactions with him over the years. With Comics Factory now closed, it's nice to still have a solid local comic shop like Legacy Comics. read more

Too long, didn't read : Read it! But also, this is the best shop in the AREA. Come visit and see just how good a shop can be! Full transparency, I have been fortunate enough to be a consistent customer once Evan became the GM. It's been amazing as a customer. Evan and Co. are a wonderful staff. The team at Legacy regularly hosts WhatNot streams, basically eBay + Twitch, and they are consistently some of the best community building events I've seen any shop make. The team here is smaller than other shops in the area. When I say area, I mean within 15 miles of where I live in East Los Angeles. I live about 10 miles away from this shop, with more than 4 good shops being much closer to me, and I still commute over to Legacy because of just how GOOD of a shop it is. There are shops with 3x the front-end shop that don't match Legacy's customer engagement. I walk in, and I am immediately greeted. If there are people ahead of me in que, they let us both know. They help you as soon as they can, and they make sure to tell you if there will be a wait or not. That simply hasn't happened to me as often at other stores than it has at Legacy. The shop isn't hostile, the employees here want to help. I can send a list of singles I want for Magic the Gathering and hear back within the hour, with the singles being ready shortly after I've gotten confirmation that they got my list. Granted, my lists are usually fewer than 10 cards, but it's still impressive for as busy a shop as Legacy is. There are so many products here. I primarily play Magic the Gathering, and this shop is a trove for that game. The amount of singles and sealed packs and preconstructed decks here is unmatched. The shop is much smaller than some of its competitors in the Greater Los Angeles Area, and yet it still has more in stock than its contemporaries. It's impressive as someone who's worked in the backend of similar shops. I haven't even touched the comic book aspect of the store, which constantly has its shelves stocked with both recent and older issues and even collectors issues and inventive covers. You simply can't beat this shop when it comes to quality. If you're in the area, or out of state and have tuned in to this shop's streams, I implore you to visit. This shop is a gem. I wish I lived closer, but my wallet is thankful I don't. read more

I was born in '83 and grew up loving comics and marvel cards. As I've gotten older I still love visiting the shops and seeing the cool new inventory. I decided to buy a graded old comic which happened to be the first appearance of Gambit in uncanny x-men. The staff there is amazing and very friendly and very knowledgeable. They are just chill sweet people and there isn't an air of snobbery you can get with most shops. Most importantly the owner Howard has given me top shape advice on which comics to buy or not to buy for collection and grading. I had never graded a comic and he walked me through the entire process. I love this shop so much and I really do hope you go check it out. Make sure to go weekdays after 4 and say hello to Howard. I ordered on their website during their Black Friday sale. Every item showed as in stock and I said I would go in and pick it up. The email confirming my order said by the next day my order should be ready pick up. Didn't receive a call. I called on Monday, they said to wait till that Friday since so many orders were placed and it may be the que to be filled. Friday came and nothing. Finally I called again and this time they said one of the items was not in stock. Not once did they say it was a preorder, not on the website, my receipt and the gentleman I spoke with didn't mention it either. Fast forward a month later, i patiently waited and still no email, phone or text giving me any updates. So I email Howard, the store owner, and ask for a full refund since it's been over a month and did not hear anything updates from Legacy comics. The response i get is him (Howard) informing that per the store policy there are no refunds on preordered items. Again, none of my items were listed as preordered. I let him know. I doubt I'll get my money back though. Figure I would post this to let people know. update: it's been OVER A YEAR and HOWARD has still ignored ALL my emails. So he's just stole $400 from me.
