This location is huge and has a lot of book categories to choose from. Service was phenomenal. They had so many books, music , etc.which prices varied from high to low. Not many sale books but prices were still decent. Nice size Starbucks inside with plenty of seating. Only thing I did not like was that the restroom was dirty and smelled.

The Barnes & Noble is located in the Americana shopping center, it has three stories and the third floor is particularly spacious. They carry a large variety of book catalogs, and other items, I found it's quite fun to explore this bookstore, although the checkout line was long.

I love going to Barnes and sad that they're all so spread out now since there aren't many left. This one is definitely one of the biggest ones being 3 stories. We always drop by whenever we are at the Glendale Galleria mall across the street. This Barnes is located in the Americana shopping center. The first floor is typically where we stay since we check out the Pokémon and anime merch they have. We've only recently been going up to the third floor to check out the Harry Potter section which is huge. Overall a great place, they also have the coffee shop on the third floor in case you needed a coffee break or pickup! Great checking this place out even if you're not into books. They have board games and other hobbies to shop for and a great place for cute gifts as well. IG: @ammysalamii

Parking lot was a little confusing to navigate around and I thought I was going in massive circles when I was exiting. It was a max of $30 to park inside and I believe it was $5/hr. We came here for Gundam which was really surprising to see. They've really changed their products and added Manga to their collections. Its been many many years since ive last stepped foot inside this store. I cant believe it has 3 stories. I was really surprised to see a table top games section! I almost walked out with a game, but decided on a book and sudoku. My husband walked out with Gundam and a brain teaser. They have a loyalty program here and its free to sign up. The staff at the register was kind and patient enough to check if I was a member. Im not sure when I will be back, I hate the parking structure, but I did enjoy the variety of items provided at this store.

We decided to stop by Barnes & Noble at Americana location on a Saturday afternoon. We normally frequent the Barnes & Noble Burbank location as well as the Barnes & Noble the Grove location. We were happy to see they pretty much have the same selection and variety of books and arts and crafts materials like the other Barnes & Noble locations we frequent. Today's visit we purchased the Spy Family book which was the last one on the shelf as well as the last item on my child's list. Barnes & Noble provided excellent customer service. We were greeted when we came into the establishment. We were also asked if we needed assistance when looking at books. They also validated our parking at the counter where we purchased the book.

This is a really great place with an impressive selection of books. There are three floors filled with books of all kinds. The top floor features children's books and toys, and you'll find plenty of teen and young adult books as well. It's also home to a Starbucks cafe that offers unique sandwiches. The bathrooms are located on this floor too. However, this floor, while the largest, is also the most chaotic and in need of attention. There are books everywhere, and kids running around and shouting, which is understandable but still a bit much for a bookstore. I personally don't allow my kids to scream like that when we're in a bookstore, indoor voices are a must. As for the bathrooms, they need serious cleaning. The toilet paper was out, there was paper on the floor, the floors were wet, and some toilets hadn't been flushed. The cleanliness of the entire store seems to be the biggest issue. A store of this size could definitely benefit from more staff to help keep things tidy. Speaking of staff, some are helpful, but others aren't as knowledgeable. We asked one employee about a book, and they had to call someone else who just looked it up on their ipad device, which the first employee could have easily done. The cashiers are also slow, and the lines can take about 15 minutes to get through. Overall, it seems like a lack of staff is the main issue here, along with perhaps some additional training on the store's inventory. More frequent cleanings could also make a big difference.

Three levels of books, magazines, keepsakes, board games, music, movies, customer service, live event space, a cafe, entertainment and more. The Barnes & Nobles of Glendale at the Americana at Brand is one of wonder - riding the escalators all the way to the top can be an adventure in itself. Definitely an impressive selection of so many categories from adult to young adult to kid to baby. Knowledge is power and reading is so fundamental - as well as learning, growing and having fun. B&N has all that and more, especially in the center of Glendale. You can find Barnes Americana on the same side as the Samsung Experience store, Urban Outfitters and AMC 18 - it's adjacent to the Italian eatery Trattoria Amici. It's always in flux, but more so on weekends. Great AC, some good deals, extra savings if you're a member - free to sign up, but you can also upgrade for more discounts. We waited in a growing line for about five minutes give or take. Usually plenty of clerks on duty... More so when there is a rush.

Three floors -- clean, bright and organized.

My husband loves bookstores. Barnes & Noble in Glendale is one of his favorites. The large open space is bright, impressively clean, organized and always kept comfortable with AC. I especially like it because of its location within The Americana at Brand. I've come here in the past for book signing events which were always managed well. Today we came after brunch at Din Tai Fung. As we usually do, we walk around to browse each section. We pick up several books that we're interested in, then find seats to skim through them in deciding which will be added to our collections. We often get lost in chatting about each one for a couple hours. Staff are always around to help find something or answer questions. Starbucks is on the third floor for easy access to some caffeine, snacks and more seating. Registers are on each floor.

I'm a sucker for bookstores in general, so it's safe to say I'm a fan of Barnes & Noble! We always stop by this location whenever we visit the Americana - rain or shine it's quite the comfort zone no matter how many customers there are! There are 3 levels to the store accessible via escalators and/or an elevator. Speaking of which - there are no dogs or strollers allowed on the escalators. For the elevator, you can't bring merchandise from the first floor up (you have to enter the elevator through a security scanner). If the scanner goes off, they'll hold your items at checkout for you to pick up on your way out. We usually frequent the third and first floors. The third floor has the children's section, horror/thriller/fantasy books, and an in-store Starbucks. The first floor has magazines by the entrance and movies/music by the back (near the elevator). Prices vary depending on what you're in the market for and yes, a good number of items are pricey for what they are. They also have a good number of discounted items and plenty of areas to sit if you want to take a load off. All in all, this is the largest Barnes & Noble I've been to yet. There's always something to see/do at this location so it's a must if you're at the Americana. The only downside is that the balcony on the third floor seems to be permanently closed now and the restrooms could be cleaner. Other than that - relax and go read something!

A must stop for me when at the Americana. I always check out the clearance section on the third floor and end up buying tons of books I like. Today I found two bread books I have been wanting for a while now. The price was unbeatable. A great addition to me cookbook collection. This location is huge and organized and has great selection of books and toys and much more. Customer service is great, very friendly and helpful employees.

It has been many years since I've last came here to check out the books. Park at the Glendale Galleria and walk out the doors near Victoria's Secret and cross the street. The bookstore is as great as I remembered. There are three floors and a large variety of books with many seating. Manga is now on the first floor at the left corner, which is usually my go-to section. I was at the third floor, and I see that they need to clean those dirty windows!

This Barnes & Noble is HUGE, standing three stories high! They will most likely have what you are looking for. I came with my family to check out the children's section, and they have a cute little reading area in the back. They also have much more than just books--there are toys, puzzles, crafts, and more. This location also has a Starbucks inside, which is perfect for sipping on after you purchase your new books! They have sales as well as a suggested reading list of popular books. You could easily spend hours here if you wanted to. Overall, the location is exceptionally clean, and there is ample staff available to assist with any inquiries or to help locate specific items.

    Rosita T.

Really love coming to Barnes & Noble especially on a cold and rainy day. The store is huge and has a great selection of books, games, gifts and even vinyls. The staff is nice and happy to help. It also has a Starbucks on the top floor. I'm really glad it's part of the Americana in Glendale.

Even more esoteric would be to focus on Sony Betamax video cassette tapes.  There is also a very small vinyl record  and movie posters section. Whammy also has movie showings that no commerical movie theatre would take on since it would interest a very focused audience. Limited seating of about 30. Tickets are sold through their website as well as a monthly calendar of events.  Tonight's theme is Dirty Looks, which delves into two disparate themes, one in the New York City Camp Drag scene and the other in San Francisco featuring a dream-like pastiche of the working class strugglIng to make sense of a surrealistic world.  I will post screen shot synopes of both performances from the Whammy for those who want further info.  Tom Rubnitz's Psykho III The Musical, a camp drag version of Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho was droll and light heartedly entertaining in a home movie style much like John Waters' Pink Flamingo.  But it was a tough slog to watch  Curt McDowell's Taboo much like David Lynch's Eraserhead that was so ridiculously boring that my friends and I had to leave midway through.  I'm glad that Whammy is doing its thing. It's a store that seems transported from an alternate universe or that my passing through the gated portal transported me to that alternate reality. Enter from the rear of the building on Rampart and not Sunset Blvd. 4 stars for being an ultra customized reference center for the video specialist.

I enjoyed going through the extensive social science collection (I'm an anthropologist) and the books devoted to art and fashion. I'm personally at a book ownership level that I seldom buy tangible copies of books unless they are art books or extraordinarily rare. I was tempted several times at this location, though I did leave empty handed. I will say that there are people who might find this book a little too highbrow for them. And that's ok. It's definitely a store aimed at folks who've been to graduate school. There's also little nook at the front of the shop devoted to children's literature with some very cool titles. Value is reasonable for a used book store. Most books were close to their original cost unless especially old or unusual. The clerk was a classic book store clerk.
