I have purposefully skipped visited this location for many reasons, one being the amount it would cost me if I brought the entire family. The little ones have now gone full Hello Kitty and like Mommy, Daddy feels the burn. Tiny shop but excellent service and the owners were very nice and accommodating. The selection of Hello Kitty items from Japan was a huge plus because others don't have the same inventory. Great value for the limited items because in the HK world, collectors notice. Spent an obscene amount here and now our little one has a chococat fixation. Guess what he wants for Xmas. I will definitely be back because there is a tea set, slippers, giant size plushie, backpack.....and the list goes on and on. Looking forward to coming back. My girlfriend and I have been consistent, long-term customers at this location for over a year. We've spent well over $1,000 here in total, including more than $250 during our visit today alone. At checkout, we attempted to redeem a completed stamp card for the $5 discount offered by the store. The owner refused to honor the card, stating it was invalid because it did not have a staff signature. The card itself was issued by this shop, and it appears a staff member simply forgot to sign it. Despite this, the owner would not accept it and spoke to us in a way that made us feel as though we were being accused of trying to cheat or steal over $5. As long-time, regular customers, this was extremely disappointing and unnecessary. We would never risk our integrity over such a small discount, and it was upsetting that our loyalty and history with the store were completely disregarded. The shop does carry some cute items, but the customer service--particularly in how this situation was handled--left us feeling frustrated, embarrassed, and unwelcome. If you value respectful customer service and being treated with basic trust, this may not be the place for you. read more

Plenty of PAID street parking (pro tip if you go on a Sunday some of the street parking is FREE) the store is small but crammed with so much cute stuff. My boyfriend called to see if they had a specific item in stock and provided the item # from the Sanrio website. At first, the owner said they unfortunately did not have it. However, they called us back & said they do! The item # was just different from the Sanrio website, which is totally understandable; I liked how they still took the time to look for it and call us back! The items in store are super cute & they had different collectibles that I have never seen from other Sanrio stores. They had some items imported from Japan too, which I thought was super neat. This is a very well stocked Sanrio store. My friend is obsessed with Little Twin Stars but it's not one of the more popular characters so it's not normally stocked elsewhere. I have loved Hello Kitty since I was a little girl. Although it was expensive at the time and still is, my mom would express her love by taking me to Sanrio. She was not allowed any family money and didn't make much of her own but she gave me all she could. According to my elementary friends, I had almost everything. I wasn't going to come in because I already shop too much. Some people buy things to fill a void in their life but I LOVE Hello Kitty and I'm torn between collecting and or hoarding. As someone who knows the merchandise really well and all the collaborations, this store was tiny but packed and stocked with all the goodies. I am a proud RN and I found the cutest tokidoki for Hello Kitty reel badge. I currently have a bedazzled Hello Kitty badge holder that I received as a gift and it has lasted many years. I especially like the Christmas items and found a Christmas bow that looks even cuter on. And lastly, I got a box of Hello Kitty Christmas Cards for future gifting. My favorite favorite Sanrio store!!! This place is heaven for any Sanrio fans who are stationary lovers!! It's a store that's neatly packed with lots of stationaries, all sorts of kawaii pens, pencils, memo pads, notebooks, stickers, planners, lettersets, etc. I used to go to several other Sanrio stores but after moving to Pasadena late 2019, I decided to check out this local Sanrio. First time I went, I was able to find some super cute My Melody memo pads that are for sale in Japan only at less than $3 each. When I mentioned I was looking for Christmas cards, the store owner Emily was super nice and looked for their storage cabinet and was able to find me 2 last boxes. Then the following week I went back hoping to find some new arrivals, and Emily immediately remembered me as I stepped into the store and asked if I was looking for more memo pads and showed me some new ones. I was able to grab a whole bunch of 144pages large memo for $3.50 each. Left as a super happy customer. Since then I've become a frequent customer. I would call in the morning and ask for some items and the store associates Zoe helped me several times. She always patiently tells me the price and quantity available and are always willing to pull them aside and hold the items for me to pick up later that day. Emily, Zoe and everyone else work there are super sweet. I sometimes brings my little toddler and they would all keep a close eye on him, and keep reminding me to watch over his head or fingers while i was too into checking out the cute items. They never complain when my little toddler sometimes accidentally knock some item off to the floor but instead would entertain him around the store so I get to stay a little bit longer. During the My Melody Meet & Greet in Jan, Emily patiently took pictures for our family again and again just so we can get different shots with the super cute My Melody in different poses. Comparing with the other Sanrio stores with lots of store associates working different shifts, I fell in love with Sanrio Pasadena because I get to speak with the owner and share my thoughts and favorites, and the whole shopping experience feels so so much more personal when the people work there all know me in person, my favorites and what I usually looking for. It's true that the store aren't as big and spacious as the other ones, however, it's a store that is filled with tons of kawaii goodies, always neatly organized, and receiving all the new merchandise at the same time as other stores. They are also very proactive in offering stamp cards and the FOTM pins, and everything purchased are always packed well. These days when the store is only open for curbside pickup due to COVID-19, I was able to place some order through their Instagram account and pickup at the store. Emily would personally bring the purchase to my car and everything is always correct and very well packaged. I had been going to the location in the Brea mall for over 30 years since I was a child in the 1980s before they finally closed it down several years ago. In all those 30 years, I don't think I'd ever gotten the amazing customer service that I received with my daughter when visiting this location. I made the 45 min trek from northern OC because their store looked like they had the best selection. It was smaller than I thought it was, but BOY did it have EVERYTHING!! My daughter saw all the giant character stickers on the window, and from the moment she entered, they greeted her and talked to her during our whole visit. From stationery to plush to clothing, they even have a small selection of Pusheen and tokidoki items here!! They are near the Huntington Library too, when I visit the center next month I am definitely bringing my daughter back here!! I had such a nice experience here overall 10/10 :) My first initial thought when my friend and I walked in a couple days ago was "oh wow it's very small " thinking we wouldn't find much... We were very wrong! They had so much stuff and it was all so tidy and organized! The woman and man working here were both so nice and welcoming!!! Greeting and engaging with my friend and I while in the store! The woman also came over to bring my friend and I baskets to hold our stuff in as we had our hands full and got too excited to even think of a basket haha. Which was very sweet of her! Wow where do I start. First, my favorite character is PPP (PomPomPurin) and he is kinda hard to find, and trust me, I looked from many other stores across different states. This store had a WIDE selection of not only EVERY character but a variety of things within each character. They had pillows, plushies, pens, hair clips, soap dispensers, key rings, blankets, cups, capes, hats, wooden and normal calendars, jewelry ... must I continue? Basically they have just about everything or atleast more of a selection than any other of the Sanrio/Sanrio related stores I have ever been too. The shop itself is small, but do not let that discourage you, it's jammed back with goodies and the best part was that the owners were so kind! The store seems to follow Retail price as a regular Sanrio store, which in my opinion, is the best part. It's worth the travel too, won't be disappointed, I was very happy with my purchase. OH! My partner and I visited Sanrio Pasadena around the end of May. We both absolutely love the plade and the owners were super welcoming, amiable, and knowledgeable. We had so much fun shopping here, definitely a great experience. We specifically flew down (I'm from SF, my partner from Florida) here just to visit the Sanrio stores and by far Sanrio Pasadena was our favorite among the rest of the Sanrio stores in SoCal. I love this store. It is very small but the amount of things they have is insane!!! However I do agree that the owners (being the lady and the guy) just stare at you and pretend to work around where you are to make sure you aren't stealing. They were very suspicious of my sister, brother in law, and I until my sister began asking them for the pricing on very expensive and limited edition things which I guess made them know my sister was about to buy something expensive making them give us better customer service. I'm not sure if it's because they're colorist, they heard us speaking Spanish, or if they are like that with every customer that walks in. And I got a parking tickets because I was at the store a minute too late. Hmph, city of Pasadena, I consider that violation a donation to your beautiful city, makes me feel better. Walked into store with hubby and son. I am a long time Sanrio fan and have visited many locations through my life and I never felt so bad about visiting one. Upon walking in there was another couple who was asian (like the store owners) and the female owner and man were minding their own business as they were browsing. But As soon as they saw us (obviously brown Latinos), the man walked over to the front door and she walked to the back room, I believe to maybe go watch cameras. I was shocked and I felt extremely sad. I have never stolen anything in my life and I came with good money to spend for Mother's Day. At this moment I felt forced to have to only buy my 80$ worth of items because I didn't want to look guilty if I walked in and didn't buy something. I wish I had the courage to walk out without buying anything. I would have bought more if this experience didn't happen. If you notice, there are other reviews just like mine buried deep under "happy/satisfied" asian customers. I bought one of their keychains with the characters in the car and it broke two days later I brought it back to the store and I asked them if I can exchange it and they told me no because it looked like somebody dropped it. I never dropped it , it Disattached on it's own and you can clearly tell. she acknowledged that as well and they would not let me exchange it so I obviously wasted my money. Firstly, this store is LOADED with a bunch Sanrio goodies and they always seem to be fully stocked all the time! Every time I turn my head, I see something I like! Also, they respond almost instantly on their IG if you have questions. They also are so gracious about holding items for you if you want something! Secondly, please do not listen to the bad reviews. Giving them one star is absolutely unfair as I doubt what they experienced was THAT bad. I have went to ALL and I mean ALL of the Sanrios in the SGV area and the other Sanrios around and this one is by far my FAVORITE! Being a guy that likes Sanrio, it can be quite intimidating going into these types of stores, but I NEVER feel uncomfortable here. The lady (who I believe is the owner) is always so helpful and greets me every time with so much enthusiasm and warmth! Her husband (I believe) is also very nice and helpful! I've came here several times already and have spend a good amount of $$ here and am so very happy to do so! I leave every time feeling very happy and satisfied!
