Wanted to check this place out as it came on my ig feed. Seemed like a great alternative to get used toys and kid items here whenever I babysit. Seemed to be more cost effective as well in some items. The place seemed organized with clothes. Some finds with tags still on and some fairly worn marked at a decent price. It's a great concept since babies outgrow their clothes quickly. Experience at the store was fine. Parking was convenient on the street. And their seemed to be adequate staffing during the time I went. The responses seen from owner on yelp however does make me feel hesitant. I often appreciate owners responses, it lets you know they care but I feel low reviews could be addressed better. Often times it may be more off-putting how the owners respond versus the 1 star review itself. read more

We didn't have a great experience at this store. First off, we went to see what they would give for our bugaboo stroller. It was an older model (very, very new looking though) but we knew we couldn't get much since it was an older model but just wanted to see. In the end, they said that it didn't have a clear date marked on the stroller so they couldn't take it. I totally understand that but what bugged me is that initially she outright rejected it without really taking a look. However, she did eventually explain why she couldn't take it but the associates demeanor was off putting initially since she barely glanced at our stroller when saying she couldn't take it. I also have to note that the store has a lot of items that aren't in the best condition. I personally think you would find better clothes and toys at those outlet stores that sell returned or overstocked Amazon or overstocked Costco items. As for toys, you would probably do better just looking on Facebook marketplace. I wish we had a better experience there. It wasn't horrible but it would have been nice if the lady wasn't so dismissive right when we entered. read more

I heard about this place and decided to come back and see if I can sell my kids toys or clothes they no longer need. I took a variety of stuff from new with tags to gently used. I was the second one on the store to sell and waited about 15 minutes. To be honest, it's not worth it... unless you've tried offer up or Facebook and truly have no buyers this place should be your last resort. For 9 of my new items all name brand: Oshkosh, Seven, Gap all with tags they offered me $12. That's wild... then they'll go around and sell it for $15 a piece. Seems like a scam Some of the items they had for sale were so overpriced it's hard to believe it's a consignment type store. Located right on Colorado parking is tough too so be mindful if you decide to come. read more

This is the Lady who Yelled at my child and FORCED me to buy an umbrella (she placed it on the register when I was paying) because he blew the whistle of the umbrella... there is NO SIGN on that basket that states we need to buy anything if the child is playing with anything in the store. I've known about KTK for years but never thought about selling to them. As I was sorting through my children's clothes -- getting rid of small stuff and making room for new stuff -- KTK popped into my head. I usually sell stuff on OfferUp and Poshmark, but I honestly didn't want to be bothered this time around. Went in on a busy Friday afternoon. It was full of other parents trying to offload unused items. I brought in about 45 pieces -- mainly from Zara and a few from H&M and Abercrombie. Anyway, I believe they took around 38 pieces and I donated the rest. I left with $79 which wasn't bad. I honestly wasn't expecting that amount because I know how second hand stores work, so I was pleasantly surprised. The owner (I think) was nice and the staff were helpful and answered my questions. Obsessed with this place. Love the concept of recycling baby items. It's such a smart model. We bought our UPPAbaby stroller here. The seat was pretty sun faded but at that price I just bought a new fabric seat on UPPAbaby's website. I love consigning clothes for my kids then shopping for specific pieces my kids need. Super organized and very nice brands and quality. I suggest giving them a call to ask for specific items availability. Don't forget follow their Instagram they post new items that just received. My friend suggested this place since I tend to donate to Goodwill or Savers whenever I had goods that are wasteful to just throw away. We only realized there was Parking available in the back after walking to the store. It was also due to the one way only street and how we aren't familiar with the area that we parked far in the street and walked with our items. I had clothes and toys but only the name branded clothes were offered for resale. The staff was nice to help instruct us what to do. I checked in at the tablet with my number and completed some information. They require an ID or De License to verify. The staff helped sort out what they want and don't want. They didn't take our toys or the large zebra we had, but since it's too much to take back they said they will help donate it to charity. While they were sorting our items, we walked around the store. I noticed they were all name brand items. Very good value for these brands, but given I'm on a budget most of the time, brands are not my priority. If you're looking to have better items with known brands at lower cost, this is the place. But if your on a budget and need thrifty things like clothes or toys, a thrift store would be better for your money since they have generic items for cheap but not the quality of name brands like here. read more

This place is awesome, so many great thrifty finds for kids. Let's face it, sometimes they just grow too quickly and kids clothes, accessories and furniture costs a lot. Even though I don't live in the area, I saw a lot of great items that I wanted to take home but simply did not have the room for. Not a great selection of stuff, everything is very worn down. Do not sell here if you have good name brands. They didn't accept any of mine, such as "high demand items" like Zara, H&M and then others such as Balenciaga, Ralph Lauren, Kenzo, etc. It seems like they only accept cheap brands, probably because they do not have the money to pay to buy the more expensive brands. The items I took were in great condition and even checked off on their "high demand items" list but yet were still not taken. Edit: Not to mention I've been reading reviews and the owner or whoever runs the yelp account replies to people with rude unprofessional tones. AND the customers have proof of the rude attitudes. Would not want to support a rude business like this. On the bright side, at least the $20 that they gave me for five things paid for the gas that was wasted to go there! I really wanted to like this place. I should've read the reviews before I planned to come here. I came on a busy Saturday. It took about 1hr and 30 minutes for the associate to go through my things and start "buying". I should have asked what they were offering for each item. When I tried to ask if they were taking the bouncer chair, they abruptly responded we haven't looked at it yet. So I didn't want to keep bothering them. Looking back on my experience, it would have been nice to know what they were offering for each piece or even a receipt with a break down of each item. They took a bouncer, a changing table, a brand new car mirror, and 47 pieces of clothing which 95% were brand new and still had tags on them. A handful of clothes that retail for over $50. By the time the associate was done she handed me a receipt that said my payout was $100. $100 for 50 items, 2 of which were a bouncer and a changing table. You do the math and you'll see that they absolutely did not offer at least 20-25% of what they would sell these items for. If you want to receive a fair price for your items, it's not going to be this store. You're better off trying to sell it yourself on Poshmark, offer up, Facebook marketplace, and donating the rest. I live an hour away from this location and had already spent an hour and 30 minutes there. At that point I just wanted to get out of there. Initially I was happy to see that they were taking so many items. However, If I knew they'd give me pennies for brand new items, I never would have come here. Update in response to owner's reply: This isn't my first time reselling to a secondhand business. However, it is the first time receiving such a low offer for 50 items, which majority of the items as I had mentioned were brand new with tags on them. If you go through the reviews you can see I'm not the only one with this experience. Am I surprised by the owner's reply? As a first time momma I've been looking for a good thrift store to shop around for baby clothes that's cute as not so much Dino/ truck/ car prints. I came across Kid to Kid and even tho some of the reviews aren't the best I decided to give it a shot today and safe to say I was not disappointed. Parking: it is only street parking in the area and there isn't much but honestly it's Pasadena what did you expect. Thankfully we found parking right across the street so we def got lucky. Selection: walking in I was very impressed as not all thrift store are as organized. I loved that everything had age and gender labels which made it a lot easier to find things or go directly for the age I was looking for. Value: they literally have a variety of items to shop for and all together in the store which makes it a lot easier. They have name brand stuff which I was impressed by and honestly like any other thrift store you gotta keep looking and see what gem you find. We picked up a few things that caught our eye and even got lucky with a Rolling Stones crewneck that turned out to be $1!!!! Like what! When was the last time you were able to find something for a dollar. I think the most expensive item we found was probably like 11.99. Which still isn't bad. They have sizes for up to a 12 y/o which is awesome. They have a full whole back wall filled with different sizes in shoes. Service: overall the girls at the register were pretty nice and informative when it came to the store deals. The store itself holds sales that last about a week which is why we got The Rolling Stones crew neck for a dollar. They also buy back clothes from you that no longer fits which I think is pretty cool since someone else could use something that you no longer need. I def will be coming back to test out the buy back option and update my review when that happens. I am a little scared as the reviews don't put me at ease. Received inappropriate and frankly unhinged snarky text from ownership in the middle of the night on mothers day... I used to love shopping at Kid to Kid, but after my recent experience interacting with whoever runs their survey, I will never return. Bags have always been a scramble at this store -- they rarely have them, and when they do, it's a chaotic search behind the counter. Not a big deal though. I usually bring my own bag anyway. On this last scorching hot Saturday at 12pm, I realized I had forgotten to bring my own bag and asked the lovely gal who rang me up if they had one. She apologized for not having bags and I replied "no worries! I'll manage" while juggling my baby on one hip and an armful of now loose baby clothes and shoes. Obviously leaving my baby in the car down the street to come back for the clothes was not an option. But I sincerely, didn't give this exchange a second thought and went on with my day pleased with my purchases and overall experience at the store. Later that afternoon, I received a customer survey asking two questions about my experience and ways to improve. I rarely care to fill these out, but as someone who has a genuine stake in supporting and keeping the independent store I enjoy shopping at in business, I decided to take the time to share a simple suggestion: Perhaps offer bags consistently, or post a reminder for customers to bring their own. Not a complaint. Just a thought. What wasn't on my bingo card was being woken up by a rude, passive-aggressive, wildly inappropriate and unprofessional text message at 12:01AM on MOTHER'S DAY -- yes, MIDNIGHT on Mother's Day -- saying: "We comply with state law regarding shopping bags, and offer reusable bags for purchase. I'm not sure what we need to clarify -- it's literally state law." Not only was this an inappropriate time to contact a customer, but the tone was condescending and needlessly combative. And worse -- the owner is effectively accusing me of lying or, at best, hallucinating that they didn't have bags. The message implies I'm somehow confused about the store's compliance, when the reality is simple: you didn't have any bags available in the middle of the afternoon on a saturday. Not this time, not the last time, and not the time before that. But again, the is not about the bags. This kind of response is unacceptable. Judging by other reviews, the store's defensive, petty, and hostile communication style is a pattern. If the owner can't respond to basic feedback THAT THEY ASKED FOR without lashing out, maybe they shouldn't be dealing with the public at all. There are plenty of other places and small businesses to shop for kids' clothes that don't involve being shamed in the middle of the night ON MOTHER'S DAY for offering a helpful suggestion. Kid to kid in Pasadena. Holy Moley! I cannot believe the reviews from people on here and for the store Once Upon a Child in Rancho Cucamonga. I read so many negative comments about both stores that give cash for clothes, so I became suspicious and decided to investigate. I went into Kid to Kid in Pasadena on Thursday afternoon and met the owner Oxana and her staff. They were absolutely lovely! It wasn't busy at all so they were able to help me quickly. I eventually asked them about all of the negative Yelp reviews and she said, "You wouldn't believe what people have said to me. The staff have been screamed at, berated, manipulated, and constantly abused.. Adults having meltdowns in the middle of the store all because they were told, "No." Well, there you go. Cash for clothes will help you get a few bucks for school supplies. Not pay for a college degree! This is a great little place to stop off on the way to Goodwill to see if they can resell your clothes. That's it! I went in with three bags of clothes. I got the option for $30.00 in store credit or $25 in cash. The rest of my items were too old and they wouldn't be able to sell. I was completely fine with that. If the clothing has stains even just a little bit. They can't sell it. (and you darn well know that you wouldn't buy it either). My crap or your crap won't sell. It's just business. End of story. By the way, she is swamped with people coming in to sell their clothes for cash. So there may be a wait especially on weekends. While I was there I looked at her floor inventory. It's VERY well organized and the clothing and shoes are all in really good condition and lots of never-worn items. I'll post a photo of the stuff she's looking for and remember. Terrible place. First of all, so many items like strollers and carriers are DIRTY! They do not clean the items. Unhygienic and disgusting. They also lowball for selling items. We had 2 items (baby lounger and a brand new baby bouncer that was purchased 8 months old and very clean and barely used) to sell. We waited an hour for them to just nod no. No standards. Then asked if we wanted to leave the items for donation. NO! I'm donating it else where. Everything is kinda dirty and gross. read more

I always find such great deals here. I will be honest and say that if you're looking to sell stuff, to not get your hopes up and expect top dollar lol. If you'd rather just get what you can for something and have the rest donated then this is the place for sure :) Otherwise, staff is always super helpful. If you get on their mobile list, they'll tell you when they have a sale. The more you buy, you'll get points and sometimes 20% off. You can choose in store sale which can take awhile if there's other people in line before you, but when there's not a lot of people, they tend to get to your stuff quickly, BUT you have to stay in store the whole time. You can choose to accept what they offer and they'll give you more money for store credit instead of cash. If you choose drop off it's convenient because you don't have to stay, but you have to automatically accept the price but they'll automatically donate everything else. Selection is pretty good and and you can even get other baby items you may not think of (formula, diapers, wipes, etc) and some widely recognized name brands for strollers, carriers, toys, etc. When you buy things off season (for example as I'm writing this post it's almost back to school and bathing suits are currently on sale), you can save a lot of money with some planning! They have stamps on some clothing and depending on the day, you save a certain percentage on those items. You would just have to ask the employees what the discount is. Don't drive here from away to sell because the sell process changes every time I come. This last time the wait was 2 hours and you have to stay in the store. There's no where to sit and the bathrooms didn't work. Someone in front of me had the equivalent of 10 bins!!! It used to be 1 bin! You can drop off, but if you came from another city coming back in 3-4 days is not practical especially when you might only get less than $20 for your items. Overall not the best use of time. How hard would it be to let someone know 10-20 mins before they get to your bin? read more

There price as I was walking around was about the same price as going to a target, Walmart, and etc... services was very slow.. I would never go there for second hand used stuff. Disappointed that we bought an item that was advertised as new in box but certainly wasn't. They followed up to my response that I wasn't satisfied with the purchase through really unhelpful and rather rude texts; why follow up to an honest response about customer satisfaction to a private, internal survey if you won't be at all helpful? Just let it ride! I promise a new out of the box item from T*rg*t would have worked--and would have been returnable on the off chance it didn't. I've really enjoyed trading stuff in and getting items second hand, but post-fire and after this experience, we'll be heading further afield. My recommendation is to stay away from anything you can't tell has all the parts and will work, whatever the labeling says. This interaction, more than the cost of an already broken toy and a bummed-out kid, really turned me off. They instantly (and rather rudely) replied to this review too, ha! We absolutely love this place for my daughter! The selection is wonderful, the staff are friendly, and selling/donating is made trivially easy. Also, this is a bit of an aside, but last time we visited my car broke down, and the INCREDIBLY gracious owner called her husband who came at a moment's notice to give me a jump. We couldn't find anyone on the street who was willing to help, and -- out of pure desperation -- ran back into the store to ask for assistance. I came here to search for some items for my baby and I would say the items here are hit or miss. It is moderately well organized and they have periodic sales of mostly clothing. Occasionally there is a short sale of everything in the store 10% off. They have a section with strollers, seasonal items, nursery furniture, clothes, books and toy, shoes. On top of their racks of clothes there are activity centers and playmats. There were some cool things I found but those go fast. I had been searching for a kids bookcase and someone swooped in and bought it that same day. I would call ahead to see if things are still available. My friend gave me a Linkimal and we wanted to find more animals to link together. Kid to Kid had some for a good price. I recommend calling the location to confirm they will accept your items, as this was not the case even though their website says they receive certain items. There is no convenient parking for selling your items; only street parking is available. We drove nearly an hour to find this out, and we had our 3-year-old daughter with us. Nice to see second-hand kid things get a second life. But not at department store prices. I went here thinking id get deals and all the toddler things I needed. I found neither. I did get some toys and the toddler did run around playing with toys on the shelf so i did end up buying $30 worth of things. This store also buys gently used baby/kids things toys/ clothes but normally are very finicky with what they get at a fraction of its value. Knowing this, you'd think you'd get quality goods, but I went in to buy jogging pants for my potty-training toddler. There were no 2t-3t-4t at the time and i had to make do with 24mo pants. I had better luck getting (free) stuff from my neighbors and friends that actually fit. Anyway, we came in during the wrong time. The staff is friendly enough, and they regularly post sales and deals if you sign up for their text updates. When selling you check in on their iPad and you can either wait in the store and I think they'll give you a call when your items are done being looked at. I've always waited and walked around the store. I've never made more than maybe $30 selling, and I usually end up donating whatever they don't buy anyway. We have a lot already but I needed some newborn sleepers that he may or may not used and was able to get a couple for $1.99. At first, I thought this place was a necessity for parents. They have a good option of everything you would need for your baby. Although recently, I went in and bought a walker for my daughter. The manager and I took a look at it before purchasing to check for any issues. She and I agreed that the walker looked good for my baby to use. I took it home and a week later, put it together for my daughter to use. Unfortunately, the walker was broken and did not function properly. The handle piece fell off the bottom part with the wheels whenever there was pressure applied. That's something I didn't check for at the store. I took it back to the store (less than 2 weeks later) for an exchange or store credit and the owner refused to give me either. Apparently anything purchased from that store is non refundable or exchangeable if it's not clothing, even if it's broken. Their return policy is heinous and that's why I won't be shopping there again. read more

Before anything I will say. Make sure you're not in a hurry when shopping here, the hired staff are friendly, and they have a large selection of good stuff! So I'm not writing to bash this business at all because I think overall it's a good spot. However, I think people should be treated with a bit more respect. You keep people coming back and they become loyal returning customers by being friendly, sincere, or just being kind because you never know what people are going through. Anyway. I visited the store yesterday for my first time. In all honesty some of the baby things were a bit pricey. I found some cute stuff anyway (for both of my kids) scooped them up and left happy spending about $50. I was even happier thinking I can come back to sell some stuff I have that my daughter has outgrown or never used. I returned today to sell and possibly pick up a few more items. To my surprise they offered me $1-$2 for some brand new items or worn once type items that look new. When I was trying to ask the associate about the amount after she let me know that it was due to an overstock of the item I was trying to sell a man (the owner) intervened in our conversation and said basically the price is the price. Rude, but I said thank you anyway. Since I couldn't figure out why the reviews were so bad here I understand now. This is not a "vendors scorned" situation either this is about the treatment of people. Stephen, you have a great store, but I just feel that kindness goes a long way and it's not that you were extremely rude to me today it was just a bit unnecessary. After reading the yelp reviews, I think that the customers should matter just a little more to you (based on the responses) since we are the reason to keep your business going. That's also Including the items that we go to your store to sell. I'm not complaining about the fact that it was only $1-$2 dollars for each item. It's just shocking that they are bought at that price after seeing what some of the things cost in the store (for example $10 for some baby pants or $15 for a little girls casual dress) that's why I was asking your associate.
