This was my first time at a Dollar King store, so I didn't know what to expect. I only have Dollar Tree to compare it to. I thought it was good, it didn't smell weird or anything. There was plenty of parking. The staff was nice and answered all my questions. It was fun to see a new store. I came in for xmas decor and crafts, so that was it. read more

They have endless amounts of great everyday items and the employees are super friendly and helpful. I always enjoy coming here and there's a great canned and dry food item selection. I will say I wish dollar tree carried produce like the old 99cent store did. There is ample parking in the lot. read more

Since the closing of the 99 cents stores, I now have to go to Dollar King which isn't actually a dollar store, but you can find many inexpensive items here. I needed 3 oz bottles for my fluids that I need to take in my carry on. There were several options to choose from. Definitely cheaper than buying it at CVS. Saw candy and snacks that looked yummy. Pet stuff. Makeup, but I think I would pass on that depending on the item. Service was fine. Only one person was working the counter, but the store wasn't busy. I was just in Dollar King today in the Eagle rock Plaza mall. We have been open since December. And they're located on the first floor across from seafood city. It is very no-frills inside kind of like Costco where it's just concrete and there are aisles of merchandise. Everything is a very well labeled and merchandised and categorized so it's easy to find certain items that you're looking for. I came in looking for a couple snacks. They have an aisle for seasonal items and houseware and some other categories. Similarly to one of the other reviews, be cautious of the expiration dates. Things are obviously short coded but if you don't mind and it's not past their "expiration" or "best taste" date then you're ok. Each item in here tends to be $1.21, I didn't look at some the other sections to know if definitively or not. But overall, I'll be back the next time I'm here in the mall. read more

The store is lovely and good to have as an additional around Eagle Rock community. We often stop by and most essential every day stuff are here to find, everything is $1.21, plus tax. Good value around town. Pleasant visit each time. The only thing to watch out for is wrong input of items at checkout. Sometimes its an error that they may double charge. They don't give an itemized receipt, so the count of individual items you have may be different from what they charge. So, just make sure ahead you know how many items,so you get an idea what to pay before checkout. And settle bill there. read more

Used to live coming to this location until I had an interaction with Tina Vardpen an employee at this location, I walked into the store to grab some items and found myself in the toy section with my little brother, my little brother has been showing some interest in soccer and I spotted some opened agility trained cones, I got excited told me brother to find a ball quickly as I payed them on the floor to test out. (Never had an issue at target, Walmart, big 5 etc for playing with a toy ) to my surprise I hear a voice on the intercom saying to please watch your children mind you I'm 25 and to not throw products on the floor knowing whoever was on the intercom obviously was watching the camera I flipped it off ( I felt disrespected) as I'm picking up the agility training cones I guess Tina didn't like that I flipped off the camera so she came out to confront me ! A customer ! A paying customer for "throwing" the cones on the floor I explain to her what I was doing and said I don't care very ballsy for an employee. I'm not a rude customer anything I take out or okay with I always pick up and put it where I got it from I work retail so I most definitely know what it's like to deal with customers that just want to cause a ruckus in the store. I was so disgusted with the attitude she came out to confront me I decided to just leave the items I was planning on purchasing probably wouldn't recommend this store target is just across the mall I guess it was my fault for wanting a deal can't wait for the Walmart to open read more

If I could review the store with no star I would do so. During my first visit, I witnessed and experienced fraudulent behavior from the employees. While I was in line the person came back to complain about being overcharged for items she did not have. The employee was rude and demonstrated horrible customer service. After I got home I noticed I was also charged 14 items when I only had 10, in addition, the receipt is not itemized so you don't know what you are being charged for so If you want to be overcharged visit this location, it will happen to you too. read more

Several weeks ago, one of the worker named Claudia, a young latina female. She's rude for not saying excuse me while I was browsing, she just rushed me through wow, like she doesn't care. and saw few customer were waiting, just noticed that worker ignored it. By the way she's not AAPI friendly, look like she's not comfortable with AAPI at the ER mall because there's bunches of AAPI shopper by the Seafood city and others. And when I got to her the cashier, I asked her name and she pointed at the receipts. Yeah that's Claudia. Not even friendly greeting and her way of saying, "Have a nice day" with her sarcasm attitudes. What a rude Latina young lady, obivously racist!. I've only been to this store three times and I really love it. I found items that I was purchasing on Amazon for $7 for $1.21. The store is really clean and everything is organized. Walked into Dollar 1 King and it was so clean, and they had everything I wanted, just for one dollar, and some tax. Wow I caming to this mall again, just because I can eat, shop and grab something for a buck if I spent all my money too. Very clean and organized but a lot of their stuff are expired. I bought a couple of boxes cookies and granola bars last night and this morning as I was putting them in the kitchen cabinet I noticed they are all expired since January 19,2019 and a few of the boxes since January 3,2019. My fault for not checking it before I purchased it I guess I trusted them thinking they won't sell expired stuff. My advice when shopping there check the dates before purchasing it. read more
