Glendale, CA After coming from IHOP for breakfast, my friends and I stopped by here to get some steps. Although it says 'Dollar', most items start at $1.25, but the selection is great. We walked every aisle; they have good products on display. I picked up a sturdy, colorful medicine container and my friend found an umbrella, ramekins, salt and pepper jars at an affordable price. I saw some good silver wares that I am planning to come back to buy (if they will still be there). The aisles are pretty neat, shelves are stocked, and employees are welcoming. Parking is plenty and free. Only thing to note: I didn't see a public restroom though. It was a good shopping trip. read more

Interesting and kinda fun store. I wandered in here by accident. Vons next door ran out of butcher's twine and I didn't feel like driving around Glendale looking for it; the clerk at the market suggested I stop by DK. Dollar King is like a bootleg "Dollar Tree", but this place has more interesting stuff. They are a discount store that has Arts & Crafts, Party Supplies, Kitchen Accessories, Electrical Gadgets, Office Supplies and more.... I was pleasantly surprised. I personally dig the spice section. Lots of Goya and Sadaf brands spices. I walked outta here with a bunch of spices for my pantry, kids party supplies; and I did find that butcher's or kitchen twine I originally came for, lol. This review is actually for Dollar tree on Glendale Avenue. This place is a disaster. The workers who are at the checkout stands leave their lights off so nobody will come to their lane even though there's 10 1215 people standing in line at one single lane that's open.. Then, as other sneaky people go in line instead of bringing the people that were waiting for so long to their lines they just allow anybody to cut in line. read more

Found everything I needed and then some. Yes I do need Hello Kitty party plates. When am I gonna find those again. Also stuff I forgot I needed like LA's best cleaner, and a phone charger. Not super friendly cashier but that doesn't affect how much I spent here for what I got in return. And they're open at 8 which was super helpful. read more

As an interior designer, Id like to share a secret; MOST of what is sold verbally as 'made in Italy' in design boutiques are usually NOT and made in China. I know, shocking. Therefor, When it comes to my own home, I like to mix pricey art/decor with great deals I find here and it gives me a ton of satisfaction to see the juxtaposition of it all & happy to know I am not being ripped off. This Dollar king is my 'go to' when Im bored and looking for gems. The prices vary as its not one dollar but still awesome deals and most of the product seems brand named and overstocked. Today I found a SUPER CUTE lamp shade for only 2 dollars...Fabric! They have really pretty glassware (their carafe's look so expensive), holiday decor (Easter threw up in aisle 6) and essential product like sponges, baking soda, plastic cat toys, etc. The employees are always very professional and the line moves quicker than my ex's new girlfriend. Shopping in Glendale, California... My friend, Nadia Q., highly recommended this store. She said that she has found name brand items from TJ Maxx and Nordstroms here - with the actual price tag! For example, she bought an eyeshadow palette by NYX for $1.99. We saw it at The Amazon Store that same day for $12.99! What a deal! If you're a bargain hunter, it will just take some patience to go up and down the aisles. Seasonal items, clothing, and cosmetics are currently $1.99. Customer service horrible. All employees are forced to work here, nobody wants to be here. They count the seconds for closing time. 8:50 and they stop working and start to rush everyone out. With this attitude this employees will never reach their full potential. That is a shame. read more

Dollar King - Discount Store Near Me - Glendale, California

I picked up the wrong item Sales person charged me $4.99 for each. 2 wrong items. I paid for it. Then I asked her how much was that item, she said $4.99 each lol at a freakin DOLLAR KING store. So 30 seconds later I replaced it with the correct $1.51 items two of them. She didn't give my money back. Supervisor came, more like a high school kid, wanted to give me store credit. For the rest, I said I didn't leave store it's been 1 minute. He's like only store credit I'm like I'm standing in front of you she didn't explain to me this is $4.99 and $1.51 lol I was just forced to buy the more expensive item spend $17. For a couple items at a Dollar Store wtf I know your stuff is cheap atleast have your customer service better I don't think I'll be coming back here and if you the real manager or super visor see's this get at me cause I want my money back SCAM's ya you. Came to shop here and bought a stove liner/ burner bin but didn't fit my new stove . I came to exchange it but the manager of the store will not accept exchange without the receipt. I asked if she could do the courtesy since it is just an exchange but she still would not. I ended up leaving the items to them as o have no need for the items! I will never buy from this store again as long as that young girl manager is there! read more

5 stars simply because this location has been open for over a month and it still in well stocked and organized. Personally to me by far the largest location with a nice variation of goods with name brands. For myself still recovering from spinal cord surgery I sometimes require my mobility scooter and the aisles are wide enough for me to shop comfortably and maintain covid distance. I was also plenty surprised with their clothing section, they had a good stock of clothing and sizes for all the family. Covid had brought a lot of financial distress and seeing cotton based basic clothing made me happy too see, I even invested in a nightshirt that simply explained the beginning of covid quarantine in March of 2020 ( Taking naps & checking apps) Each row is clearly marked with the pertaining goods so you don't get distracted with other non needed shopping. I personally love to go down each row just so I know for future needs. Abigail our checkout lady was very polite and we exchanged Dollar King chit chat about how non of the employees leave without shopping during their lunch break and I can definitely relate too that. I find it pretty dumb that I can't purchase the numbered foil balloons without getting helium in them. Huh?? And when I ask why all they say is we can't sell it without the helium. I was told by my local dollar king that I can purchase it and then bring it to my local and they can blow it up. The way I see it you're still making the sale but saving helium, whatever. Two stars for it being a big location, but other than that, this was a lame reasoning. I'll stick to la crescenta and sunland from now on. This particular store is clean, organized, and well stocked. I've usually found what I need, and plenty of things I don't, which is the fun part. But yes, now most items are $1.51, with plenty of more expensive things. But watch out!... as I am queen of sale/bargain ... just make sure of things like ounces and size - because you can actually be paying more for some things than you would pay at say the grocery store, etc. read more
