15 dollars although im at the dollar store. So confused lmao anyway. Still a fabulous deal

As an interior designer, Id like to share a secret; MOST of what is sold verbally as 'made in Italy' in design boutiques are usually NOT and made in China. I know, shocking. Therefor, When it comes to my own home, I like to mix pricey art/decor with great deals I find here and it gives me a ton of satisfaction to see the juxtaposition of it all & happy to know I am not being ripped off. This Dollar king is my 'go to' when Im bored and looking for gems. The prices vary as its not one dollar but still awesome deals and most of the product seems brand named and overstocked. Today I found a SUPER CUTE lamp shade for only 2 dollars...Fabric! They have really pretty glassware (their carafe's look so expensive), holiday decor (Easter threw up in aisle 6) and essential product like sponges, baking soda, plastic cat toys, etc. The employees are always very professional and the line moves quicker than my ex's new girlfriend. I walk in wanting a few items and leave with bag full of stuff. Love!

Shopping in Glendale, California... My friend, Nadia Q., highly recommended this store. She said that she has found name brand items from TJ Maxx and Nordstroms here - with the actual price tag! For example, she bought an eyeshadow palette by NYX for $1.99. We saw it at The Amazon Store that same day for $12.99! What a deal! If you're a bargain hunter, it will just take some patience to go up and down the aisles. Seasonal items, clothing, and cosmetics are currently $1.99. Unmarked merchandise are $1.51 (plus 10.25 percent tax as of 9-16-22). Other things are priced higher with corresponding sticker. Take a look and have fun! You might see something you need!

Wow, this place actually has name brand items. This place is just as good as the 99 cent store, and this place is so close to my house.

5 stars simply because this location has been open for over a month and it still in well stocked and organized. Personally to me by far the largest location with a nice variation of goods with name brands. For myself still recovering from spinal cord surgery I sometimes require my mobility scooter and the aisles are wide enough for me to shop comfortably and maintain covid distance. I was also plenty surprised with their clothing section, they had a good stock of clothing and sizes for all the family. Covid had brought a lot of financial distress and seeing cotton based basic clothing made me happy too see, I even invested in a nightshirt that simply explained the beginning of covid quarantine in March of 2020 ( Taking naps & checking apps) Each row is clearly marked with the pertaining goods so you don't get distracted with other non needed shopping. I personally love to go down each row just so I know for future needs. Abigail our checkout lady was very polite and we exchanged Dollar King chit chat about how non of the employees leave without shopping during their lunch break and I can definitely relate too that. I look forward to returning

Banned from Buying After Their Own Product Broke in 18 Days…read more Bought a sewing machine for my elderly mom--when it broke after 18 days, the manager refused to help and told us to shop elsewhere. It'll be a very long time before I ever set foot in another Michael's--especially the one in Glendale, CA. Let's face it: good customer service is rare these days. I read plenty of negative reviews about this store's self-checkout mess and lack of help before writing this. My main issue, though, is poor management. I recently bought a sewing machine for my elderly mother, a lifelong seamstress who just needed a reliable, basic model. The sewing section was literally a wall of product cards--no demos, no displays, and no one available to explain anything. You grab a ticket and bring it to the register, but a ticket doesn't mean it's in stock. Behind the self-checkout counter sat a random stack of damaged boxes. The kind attendant confirmed our chosen model was out of stock, so we settled for a smaller Singer and took it home. It turned out to be tiny--almost toy-like. So we returned it (receipt in hand) to exchange for a larger, pricier one. Enter "Manager" Nagila. She curtly told me that Michael's "does not allow sewing machine returns if you simply don't like it." She called it "store policy" but couldn't explain why. Whether that rule truly exists or not, her attitude was cold and dismissive. I explained we weren't returning it out of preference--we just wanted to upgrade to a better, more expensive machine. Only then did she reluctantly process the return, warning she'd "allow it this one time" but "not again." It felt less like customer service and more like being scolded for trying to do business there. Fast-forward 18 days: my mom's mid-project when the new machine fails completely--error codes C4 (bobbin issue) and E6 (motor failure). We went back, receipt in hand. Nagila immediately refused to help, wouldn't even inspect the machine, and told us to "just go somewhere else." She processed a refund and said we were no longer allowed to purchase sewing machines at that store. When I asked her name, she mumbled it under her mask and snapped, "I don't have to give you my name!" before storming off. One of the regular employees--the same kind woman who helped us before--apologized and admitted her manager was in the wrong. Michael's Corporate: This is how you lose loyal customers. Managers like Nagila are running your stores into the ground.

*** Only open on Sundays from 12 PM to 5 PM - always check the website to confirm opening hours ***…read more Yup you heard it right - Baum-kuchen is a specialty card and stationery shop that only opens its brick-and-mortar store once a week. As an online store, Baum-kuchen has been in operation for 16 years (since 2010). [Parking]: Easy and free street parking. [Selection]: Baum-kuchen sells stationery items that combine the philosophies of German Bauhaus and Japanese wabi-sabi. Visitors will find fewer cute items as most products focus on aesthetically designed stationery such as stamps, planners, pens, paper pads, pen cases, pouches, tapes, etc. The shop has few postcards and pins, but the selection is limited. There are no greeting cards. [Mailbox]: The shop also sells postage stamps so customers can purchase them on the spot and drop postcards into the mailbox right next to the cashier counter. They will add letters and postcards to their outgoing mail. [Conclusion]: Some of items at Baum-kuchen can technically be found at other stationery stores in Los Angeles, so I don't feel like this is a must-visit shop or you'll miss out. With that being said - if you are a fan of stationery stores like Paper Plant Co., Hightide Store DTLA, or Shorthand, then Baum-kuchen is certainly worth checking out. Plus it is also nice to see some of these online items in person rather than just browsing them on their website.

They're only physically open on Sundays but they answered my call on a Wednesday. Super gorgeous and organized inside. There's a lot of wandering space so you can take your time to explore and test products like pens. There's even a large table if you need to sit and relax. If you need help looking for something, don't be shy to ask. The workers are super friendly and knowledgeable. My purchase came with a free set of stickers! Super happy with this place. Will come back to support when I can. :)
