Leaving a review here on behalf of my wife, who has a problem with her obsession over Dollar King. She loves to frequent both this location as well as the one in La Crescenta. They call it dollar king, but everything is actually more than a dollar. It should be called Dollar 121 King. Everything is $1.21. Sometimes you get stuff for a steal at that price, and other times you are just a sucker. It's a great marketing ploy to just change the quantity and quality of items and keep the prices low. Overall, it is a good deal store, and there are treasures to be found! The organization and cleanliness is better than the Dollar Tree, but also you are paying 21% premium for the items. I have been pleased with some of the stuff that have been brought home, but other times my only response is a shake of the head. Don't come here. They claim to be authorized Pokémon dealers but sell counterfeit Pokemon cards! I asked the clerk if they were real and he said they were real. We bought a couple packs, opened one. They're plastic FAKE cards! I tried to return the other unopened package, but they wouldn't accept my return stating that it's final sale even though there was no sign stating that it's final sale . This used to Be a great dollar store before they went up in the prices. They're overcharging for things like canned beans. More expensive than a grocery store. $7 for a candy bar?$ 9-13$ for a ceramic planter, small? It's not a dollar store anymore. It's close to where I live,So i'm very very disappointed. read more

Poor customer service & very rude manager I tried other store like dollar tree they have good price & coustomer service.

Very fond of this dollar store and have shopped here quite a few times. It's an extremely convenient store for small items. There is never really any lines or very short if any and parking is quick to find as well. One of the perks of this particular dollar store is that they have all sorts of balloons for birthday parties and they even fill it with helium as a cherry on top. Everything is very convenient here overall great store. read more

I like everything here except that damn music! Wtf is that garbage playing all day. Last 3 times I've walked in it's some provocative song about wanting to fk all night. While little children are walking around the store, families everywhere and dirty music playing. One day two days every damn day I walk in and it's not the workers cuz it's always been different workers. Somebody needs to change that damn radio station or put in a new play list. I'm a grown ass man and I feel uncomfortable with that stripper music playing. Other than the music everything else is great have no other issues. read more

Dollar King? More like $1.21 King plus tax. Inflation sucks. Oh well. C'est la vie. In all seriousness, I like this place. Sure... they've increased the price, but it's amazing what you can find at this Dollar King store. It's like treasure hunting. The crafts and party section is quite awesome. I can get what I need for any celebration without breaking the bank. Other than that, everything else is ok. I frankly just go there for those two categories. But hey! Try it. You might find something just for you. You never know 'til you spend that dollar and cents wedged between your carseats. read more

As other reviewers mentioned the woman running the store was not running a mask and I tried to avoid her but she was talking loudly on the phone moving throughout the store without any regard for keeping distance from shoppers. We are in a pandemic! Absolutely disgusting behavior. And illegal. read more

Dollar king in general is a great store, minus how they keep raising the price pretty frequently. The staff is definately not one of the reason I will return to this place. All of the workers look like they hate their job and do not want to be there. Never greet the customers and never really talk/smile. This place is usually super busy all the time with one person on the cashier. Only stop by here for emergencies and when I do I dread it. read more

If i can give a zero I would these workers NEVER wear their mask! They are consistently walking around with their mask completely down or under their nose which is a safety hazard. And when asked to pull up their mask while ringing up they give a horrible attitudes. We're in a pandemic just wear a mask! read more

have bought balloons many times. This time I get charged double for the balloons. I bought 3 at the Dollar king for 7.95 wow! I am shocked. I was in store today and during check out the register asked credit /debit and I said do credit please. Then she swiped my card then asked for my ID!!! I smiled and said first you swipe the card then you ask for ID?? which is funny. Then with a very bad attitude she said WHAT IS SO FUNNY. The store is so neat and the merchandise here is amazing! They have everything from arts and crafts to kitchen cleaning stuff. The quality is actually really good considering it's a dollar store. You can spend hours in here and not even notice. It's in the same shopping center as Starbucks so the parking gets a little busy but there is plenty of parking if your not lazy to walk. read more

I come here often, I love that the store has variety of things. Especially during the holidays. I am only giving this store 5 stars because of the girl on the register I think her name is Ashley? I absolutely adore her! she is always in good spirits and very kind. I can ask for a variety of things and she is always there to help me. But as far as the manager. The manager sometimes will be on her phone well she rings me up or if I ask her a question she gives me attitude and makes me feel like I'm bothering her. We stop by this location all the time because its by the house but I keep on having issues. One time I bought these nose strips because I have never tried them before. When I got home the box was empty. It was only a dollar so I didn't feel like calling them and making a big fuss. Another time we went there, my fiancé and I had to wait ten minutes before a cashier would come and help us. We had to go find someone and then thought it was more important to finish what they were doing instead of helping us. read more

We go in here all the time because we always need padded envelopes and little art palettes and containers. Gift supplies are great too. Sometimes you get in line behind a crazy Tujunga's finest, either meth or alcohol challenged or politically inflamed... Be ready to spend a few minutes if you should be so fortunate. This morning one of the loony libertarian old pasty guys was rambling and ranting on and on about the government fees. The young woman at the cash register is always very sweet and polite. This lunatic guy said "I wonder how much they will charge us to fart pretty soon"... Seriously? I think the young woman at this particular dollar store (and most dollar stores in fact with this economy and the crowd you tend to get) deserves a lot more money for listening to these goofers. At any rate, it is organized, clean and I can always find something I did not know I needed for $1.11 (effective 3/2014 everything which was a dollar is $1.11) Parking lot is a bit crowdy but still worth the effort because you have food and a coffee place nearby. read more

My go-to store! I literally come here once a week ... I get all my plastic plates, cups, utensils, napkins, and anything else you can imagine from here. Their quality is unbeatable, nothing like I've ever seen at any other dollar store. I throw a lot of parties, and I always come here to get cute decorations, balloons, and other party supply's.
