Pretty big discount store; they have over 18 aisles full of goodies, but don't be fooled, they are not a dollar. Most items range from 5 to 10 bucks, with many items still on the higher side of $15 and $20. Some items are even pricier than Target. We found a fake pumpkin decoration; it was 8 dollars, but we went to Target that same day and found it for 5. Nonetheless, some items are decently priced, but I would do some research before purchasing any big items. Overall it's a nice and big location with lots of goodies. read more

Usually come here to grab a few things here and there if Dollar Tree doesn't have it. The Dollar Tree on Victory happened to be closed so had to stop and saw a display full of the new Doritos Protein chips. Went to check out with them and 4 other items but the cashier was unable to find them in their system. She walked to the back then came back up to try to ring them up again. She then proceeds to tell us "they're not ringing up at this price" as if we asked for a specific price and said she couldn't sell them to us because she just can't "make up a price". Why display something in your store that doesn't ring up in your system? Furthermore, why act as if we asked for a specific price when we just wanted to PURCHASE the product at whatever price they were marked in the store. This store on Burbank Blvd. is a bit more off the beaten path. I like their bigger parking lot, it makes things easier shopping wise. I came in to get some cards and office supplies. Prices have increase here also and the selection isn't as good as it used to be. But it's pretty clean and better organized than other stores of this kind. Some OK-ish home decor, craft items and seasonal decor as well. Customer service varies, not the best, but I have seen worse in other places. If you live closer by and need some party supplies, some for school, home office, Dollar King is a decent choice. read more

Stuff is pretty good but cashier or owner is super rude. Bought some bleach and with my luck it did not have a seal which I did not notice bc I obviously don't open the products, when I drive away and made a turn and tipped over and by the time it was safe to reach for it (about a minute maybe less) it was halfway spilled, I called an explained what happened and when I went in I checked other caps and they were loose, I let her know and she tried to make it seem like I was lying bc "they close all their stuff" and even opened my new bottle to show me so I got my bottle out of my car and showed it to her. In the beginning it was great, lots of interesting things for a low price. Then they raised it to 121.00 which was fine and understandable and most things remained that price. Then it went up to 1.51 ok, then they started to upcharge for ridiculous things that weren't worth 10 bucks. They have continued the trend of marking up things above market value. old close outs of hair dye, blankets, seasonal. super bummer. when I saw things that were at dollar tree and 99c for 6.00+ this place was no longer any fun. They recently added a food section that I found interesting Mediterranean and Armenian food. I purchased some grape leaves and cabbage dolmas but when I got home I saw on the bottom of can a cancer warning label about the can. Those went in the trash. I'm part of a non-profit organization & today 7 industry friends were shopping for a Local Women's Center (see receipt). We were treated unkind and with a tone that would be unacceptable with any owner or brand. Apparently we were blocking the aisle as we were unloading 4 shopping carts of supplies. We immediately complied and 3 of us moved and waited near the door. Apparently that wasn't enough. We were asked again rudely not to block the aisle from customers. This time NOT ONE customer was in sight. I guess a please isn't part of the training manual here. We all have bad days and I guess she had a taxing day at 10:11am. I have been to Dollar King a few times, and often saw people ordering balloons. So this time I needed some for a baby shower, I went to Dollar King. They have a great assortment, including really cute polka dot balloons, "It's a Girl", and many other colored balloons. I arrived about half an hour early for pick up, and the lady working at the front desk was so nice, and was kind enough to blow up my balloons early. Most times, I buy soft drinks because they have flavors no one else has and they used to be $1.11, then $1.21 and yesterday $1.76. I asked the cashier why the $1.76. She said they raised the prices to $1.51..uh so why the $1.76? I know there is .10 for CRV but that's still only $1.61. She just kept telling me they raised their prices to $1.51, I just got frustrated and left. Ok this place rocks! It's so clean and organized! I love that the aisles are wide and not jammed packed with floor displays. They have everything from makeup supplies, house supplies, party supplies, art supplies, shipping supplies, knick knacks... Think a small version of MICHAEL'S with a Dollar Store flare. No produce or real food like the 99¢ Only Store, but they do have some snacks. And seasonal things. I love this place! Ample parking. Clean bathrooms. And friendly staff. I really love this new store in town and it's becoming to be my fave hang out place. Store is clean, well-stocked and very organized. Entrance to the store is actually facing the alley. There is parking by the entrance as well as the side of the store. You can also park by the streets. This place is craft haven; it's like a smaller version of Michael's Craft Store but way cheaper. Such a great store to visit if you pride yourself on being a dollar store aficionado such as myself. Where this store differentiates itself from the bigger chains like The 99¢ Only Stores and Dollar Tree is that their everyday items are priced at $1.11/ea ($1.21 as of November 1st, 2018), vs other retailers now offering 99.99¢ pricing and higher prices for "good value" items. This is both good and bad. The good is that if you're planning on buying a lot of stuff from a dollar store, this pricing structure works well and may even save you money in the long run, as I've seen items in there that should be way more expensive sold for their typical Dollar King standard price. The final costs will all balance out at the register. However, if you're someone who like to run in to grab one or two inexpensive knick knacks that you know are available at another dollar store for a buck, you're going to pay about 21% (referencing the 11/1 price changes) above the competition. So you'll have to weigh that out yourself to see if that's worth it to you. As they're my neighbor, I tend to run in there for a few things when in a hurry much like I would a 7-Eleven for an overpriced grocery item I could pay a lot less for in a big box store for. Besides the pending prices changes, I still love this store. It's very clean and organized compared to the competition. They have a wonderful gift wrapping section, a revolving seasonal/holiday aisle, office and art supplies area, simple tools, kitchen supplies, etc. It's always easy to locate what I need, when I need it. The manager is super rude, I went here last week and bought some foam roses to use on my Halloween costume, since I ran out of it, I decided to go back tonight with my boyfriend to buy some more. I couldn't find more of the red ones, so I asked the manager if she had some in the stock, because I needed to finish my costume and she was telling me that they never had those in red and they only have it in white and pink, and I told her that I bought it last week. So, she kept saying me the same thing in a rude manner, saying that she is the one that even choose the colors and she is a hundred percent right that she never have had the red ones. I'm attaching a picture to show to the amazing rude manager that probably doesn't know how to do her job right, that yes you had the red ones a week ago, maybe she is color blind and doesn't know the difference between red and pink, so go get your eyes checked and learn some costumer service too. A marked distinction that sets it apart from the others is the big section dedicated to crafts! Overall a good store with enough parking and entrance in the back by the alley. My ONLY warning is for those with little children as we were. 6 year old needed a bathroom and we were told there were no public restrooms available!!
