My first impression was how old and kind of dirty/messy it was. Found a lot of stuff though! You can buy school supplies, work out clothes, make-up, and what not. Best of all, my daughter found what she needed! The store lady was kind enough to order more for my daughter. She even called my daughter when the stuff came in and held it for my daughter at the counter till we came to get it. We will DEFINITELY be back!! Plenty of free parking next to the store.

They call it dollar king, but everything is actually more than a dollar. It should be called Dollar 121 King. Everything is $1.21. Sometimes you get stuff for a steal at that price, and other times you are just a sucker. It's a great marketing ploy to just change the quantity and quality of items and keep the prices low. Overall, it is a good deal store, and there are treasures to be found! The organization and cleanliness is better than the Dollar Tree, but also you are paying 21% premium for the items. I have been pleased with some of the stuff that have been brought home, but other times my only response is a shake of the head. Glad to have the store in the neighborhood, and happy to see it's future success!

This location has just about everything you need at its lowest cost. Another thing about this location is that they keep the store clean, although you can tell they have some displays, shelves, shopping carts and baskets for quiet some time now. Would be nice to see them get a bit of facelift to the store. All the employees I've encountered have been very welcoming and helpful. The manager in charge of the store seems to bit out there. She has her moments when she's not professional on the floor around customers. I don't think yelling across the store is professional that's one example, another time was her addressing problems with her employees when there's an issue in front of customers.She's not your typical manager who makes you feel welcome or helpful. She seems just like your average outspoken employee, with no filter. I will say this about her, when it comes to solving customers problems I've seen her do a great job in taking care of an issue, and also keeping the store clean, and shoppable. With a little bit of management training, I think would improve her professionalism. One more thing when there's a long line they don't take a bit to long to get back and for back up to respond. As long as you guys are still in this location I'll be come back to shop. Just those minor improvements will make shopping there an even better experience and would probably bring in more

I've been coming here for years. Every birthday, holiday, random craft project, back to school,…read morethis has been a go-to. NOT ANYMORE. Today my 4 yr. old daughter had to use the restroom and the "supervisor" wouldn't come out from the back room to tell me she couldn't use it. Instead he made the poor young, clearly uncomfortable employee tell me. You might say, well just have her use it before you leave the house, and you'd be right, except it used to be a public restroom so I assumed it wouldn't be closed. And it's a kid. This guy wanted me to put my daughter in her car seat, drive 5 minutes away to the park, have her use it there, and then come back and spend money is his store. ABSOLUTELY NOT. HOW have I gone this long without reviewing Smarty's!?!?!…read more My daughter and I are Art's biggest fans. Every Thursday (which is when Art gets in his pallets of new inventory), she says to me "Happy Smarty's Day!" You just never know what you are going to find here. We have gotten the following items in the past year or two: a brand new Samsung dishwasher (a model that had only been on the market for five months, new in the box for over $700 off retail price!), a Ninja Creamy ice cream machine, Instant Pot lid that turns it into an air fryer, Dyson and Shark vacuum cleaners for hundreds off list price, deck boxes and hose reels for the backyard, a new microwave, an amazing array of plastic storage bins in all sizes for the garage/storage locker...and that's just off the top of my head! Going to Smarty's is our weekly treasure hunt. More than once, my daughter has bemoaned that she bought something elsewhere only to find it later at Smarty's for a fraction of the price. On the rare occasion that something we bought ended up damaged after we opened the box (which does happen from time to time, given the nature of the business of buying pallets of stuff from Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.), Art has always made good and given us a full refund. I am almost loathe to tell people about this store because I want to keep these amazing, secret deals all to myself, but I also want Art to stay in business forever. Thanks, Art!
