UpDate: Since the last post this store has really stepped it up. It's a great store to go to if you're tight on cash or just on a budget. This location has just about everything you need at its lowest cost. Another thing about this location is that they keep the store clean, although you can tell they have some displays, shelves, shopping carts and baskets for quiet some time now. Would be nice to see them get a bit of facelift to the store. All the employees I've encountered have been very welcoming and helpful. The manager in charge of the store seems to bit out there. She has her moments when she's not professional on the floor around customers. I don't think yelling across the store is professional that's one example, another time was her addressing problems with her employees when there's an issue in front of customers.She's not your typical manager who makes you feel welcome or helpful. She seems just like your average outspoken employee, with no filter. I will say this about her, when it comes to solving customers problems I've seen her do a great job in taking care of an issue, and also keeping the store clean, and shoppable. With a little bit of management training, I think would improve her professionalism. One more thing when there's a long line they don't take a bit to long to get back and for back up to respond. As long as you guys are still in this location I'll be come back to shop. Just those minor improvements will make shopping there an even better experience and would probably bring in more read more

I do enjoy this store, the price on cards and gift wrap and gift bags is great. My problem is I paid with a card and when the cashier asked if I wanted a receipt I said no (yes, my bad, lesson learned). When I checked my bank account the next day there were 2 charges for the Dollar Tree, 1 was my purchase - no idea what the 2nd charge was for. I called and spoke with the assistant mgr and she said it was probably just pending so to check again in 24 hours (she obviously wasn't interested in helping). This is my first experience in so many years shopping from Dollar Tree in Tujunga. on 4/5/25 around noon i walked in to the store to get some items including cake container. The store was overstocked and to get aluminum trays i had to move entire stock of trays to be able to get 2 from it and store manager was around organizing noticed and with attitude came and helped me. I went to the other isle and noticed cake containers were way up and i approached to the same lady to ask for help. i felt like she got bothered second time by me and very rudely meanwhile trying to climb on the shelf asked which one i want and before i would respond she grabbed the one i wouldn't want I told her "thats is not the one that i wanted " And with rude and attitude way she replied "i asked you twice" I was surprised to experience poor customer service from the store manager and walked out from the store without getting the item that i went there for. I didn't get her name but other times heard her mean attitude toward her employees. She would definitely benefit from continued customer service trainings. read more

**WARNING: PREPARE TO BE HARASSED BY OTHER DERANGED CUSTOMERS IF THE ASST. MANAGER HELPS YOU. I've been going to this Dollar Tree for over 8 years. Other than several weirdos and a scary people who frequent this place, most employees are nice except for the the lady with the skin discoloration condition who says she's asst. manager. I think her name's Maria and I avoid her. Today I brought in 2 items to return to exchange for other items. Seeing that the only cashier was busy and appeared new, I didn't want to interrupt her to tell her about the items because she appeared overwhelmed. Long story short, I attempted to make an even exchange. Despite explaining this 3 times to the cashier, she could not understand what I wanted, instead called the assistant manager. (I think her name is Maria). The asst. manager only listened to the employee's story. When I attempted to explain my side, the asst. manager started barking at me and talking down to me in a loud voice. She blamed me for not leaving my items with the cashier when I walked in and claimed that was the problem. Then, when she saw she had an audience of angry customers, she put on a show for the crowd of angry customers by further insulting me and turning it around by playing the victim; stating she was trying to make me happy but I still wasn't happy. It was bad enough to be publicly insulted, but 1 nasty customer in the other line who had just been helped in the other line, snapped a horrible remark to me as she walked past me. I told her it was none of her concern as she had no clue what was going on. Then a tall, scary looking lush of a man at the back of the line jumped in to insult me as well. The assistant manager was thrilled by all this support from these 2 derelicts. This assistant manager attempted to incite a group of nuts to gang up on me, putting me in danger. Instead of inflaming the situation, I walked out. But the asst. manager just had to take one last shot at me and yelled, "Have a nice day" when I was already out the door! I'm sure they had a good laugh at my expense. If this had happens to someone who hadn't taken her meds, a fight will break out and someone will get hurt. In light of the violent state of our society today, this statement is no exaggeration. I've reported her to corporate. First via voicemail message at (757) 321-5915. Solid Dollar store. The one thing I love about this specific location is how huge the parking lot is so it's always a quick and convenient stop, it's also situated between a couple fast food places one of which happens to be McDonalds so thats always fun. Came here during the COVID -19 days to puck up some essentials. Got a cute floor mat for my aging dog to prevent slippage, a couple boxes of bandaids, pretzels etc. They are set up for social distancing and require masks, but many knucklehead shoppers weren't wearing them correctly. I was in need of some supplies for my students and came to the Dollar Tree store. While I was waiting for a cashier a lady walked in with her two toddler kids looking for a mask. One of the cashiers; who turned out to be the Most Famous MARIA ( famous since many customer's reviews are mentioning her name :)), attacked her for not wearing mask. She was trying to explain that she forgot her mask and is trying to buy one. But she was screaming on the customer like crazy. In many occasions I noticed that stores would offer mask for the customers who didn't have one. The staff is friendly, but they're probably in a good mood because they don't have to stock the shelves. They are supposed to, but they don't. Boxes and boxes and boxes of seasonal items that go unpacked and unshelved. They are always behind all the other regional Dollar trees and putting out all the seasonal stuff. For example, by mid-August, all Halloween and fall items should be out on the shelves. By Halloween, all Christmas seasonal and winter items should be out on the shelves. Instead what you get is rows and rows of unstocked shells and old items from the previous season. Always low on stock, but if you peer around the corner where the restrooms are and into the storage area where they keep their items you'll see stacks and stacks and boxes and boxes and pallets and pallets of unpacked items ready to be displayed on the shelves. Once again they're friendly and folksy there but that's because no one is pushed to really do anything about their inventory. Once again all other dollar trees in the valley and surrounding areas are fully stocked, and ahead of this incoming seasonal items. But we are held hostage up here in the foothills by this dollar tree location since it is the only one close by to us. Too bad they are not held to the standards by the corporation at large, and that like successful chains and businesses, One can walk into any location and see the same consistency and stock. But not this one, this continues to be the rebel that apparently the corporate has forgotten up here in the foothill area. read more

I live by this location and like coming here when I need some office supplies last minute and don't want to drive down to Target. The environment can be nice sometimes because it's quiet and you can lose track of time here. I also always find exactly what I'm looking for, which is good. However, sometimes when the store manager is there, I don't really like to shop when she's there. She seems pretty rude because she's always yelling at her employees and taking on the phone when she's working on the floor. And PLEASE, can we get more cashiers, I'm a little tired of waiting in a line that goes all the way to the back of the store because this company wants to be cheap and only schedule 3 people throughout the day. read more

This store has the vibes. I don't know what kind of vibes but it has vibes. Sometimes you might encounter a random homeless person trying to get something to eat and survive sometimes you might encounter a family trying to buy things to eat or whatever the case. You just never know. It's real though, it's all very real. People here are no actors that's for sure you get what you see. Today, I witnessed the Filipino female manager screaming at one of the female employees for having trouble using the cash register when charging an elderly customer. The elderly customer apologized to the cashier/manager stating she pressed the wrong button and it was not the cashier's fault. Once the customer left the Filipino female manager screamed at the employee even louder and being a bully. The employee was quiet and the look on her face was sad, NO ONE should be treated like that in a work place. I told the manager she has no right to treat anyone like that in the work place, and it's just a job that can be learned with respect. She ended up screaming at me, so I told her she needs to stop being an evil b*tch . I can't imagine how many other employees are treated that way in that Dollar Tree. Maria Diaz is a disgusting excuse of a store manager. I walked in this afternoon and heard her responding to Karmen, a cashier; "What!" She continued to rudely yell orders out. As I'm shopping I can still hear her yelling, "What!" as her employee is asking for her assistance. Now as I'm walking up to checkout Maria is still yelling, "What!" as Karmen is asking her for assistance as she is checking out a couple. When I ask for another manager I'm told there is no other manager but Maria. So I ask to speak with her. I lean in and in a low voice I ask Maria to check her tone. She turns and walks away, turning and yelling, "you can call the number on your receipt and tell my store manager." Then she turns around and tells me she is going to pray for me. When I tell her that her response to me and her employee is not only disrespectful; its unprofessional, she becomes even more disrespectful and argumentative. At one point she gets the phone and I'm trying to ask her for the manager's name she tells me she is on the phone and walks away. She then turns off Karmen's light and redirects customer from her line to an employee who just asked to take his break. Instead of asking me why I would ask her to check her tone she came and tried to move my purchased items off of the register counter. And I know Maria Diaz' name because she yelled it at me from across the room as she was walking away from me. She actually stood at the door to the manager's office and yelled at me. Maria Diaz is a disgusting, unprofessional, sorry excuse of a person and poor representation of your management team. I'm not going to go to a different store. You need to do something with Maria Diaz. I have never in all of the years I have patronized this store experienced anything close to this disrespect. read more

I do have to say, in this struggling economy, you really can't get any better than this. I came here on Friday during my lunch break. This place has the cutest decor for holidays. I couldn't pry myself out of the Halloween decoration part. I didn't like their candy selection though, no chocolate for a buck, just smarties and lollipops pretty much. Can't beat cleaning supplies and laundry detergent for $1 each either. I even get stuff from their frozen food section too when it looks good. Let me just begin this by saying there is absolutely no reason to wonder why the management here is such a joke. They are clearly uneducated and bottom of the barrel as far as management goes. I feel bad for many of the lower level employees because it looks like they really hate their lives. I get that working at dollar tree hardly counts as a real job to begin with and it's nearly impossible to have any respect for yourself while working there. Especially as a manager. But as a manager you should hold yourself to a higher standard. You are a manager, after all. Because you have no idea how to speak to custumers when talking to people is a basic skill, maybe you should just be a stocking associate and not a manager. Everytime I come into this location the lines are horrendously long with only one cashier. I tried to call and ask the manager why she can't help out and instead just wastes time not doing anything, walking around the store and ignore the long lines and not open up a second register. She had nothing but excuses. First of all, she denied having only one register open when I literally just walked out of there. You think I am just gonna believe you when I literally just saw your lack of service? Second, she said she was working SICK (as if this will get sympathy). The only people who should have sympathy are the people she's spreading her sick germs too. She then tried to blame it on the holiday weekend, and the other employees, saying they are busy. Shouldn't that mean you should be prepared for busy holidays and have more than one cashier on hand when you just said you are aware it gets busy? (Plus I come in here all the time and it's not just the Holidays. It's everytime and she's 100% careless.) Not to mention long lines blocking walk ways is a fire hazzard. But again, they clearly don't care about custumer service OR SAFETY. Also she tried to take the responsibility off herself and said there are other employees on the floor. Yes, the stocking employees ON THE FLOOR. NOT AT THE REGISTER. They literally have headphones in and don't know how to use the register. There are tons of other reviews I read about the management yelling at a custumers child over trying to pick out a baloon and continues to bully the parents of the child after the incident OVER THE LOUD SPEAKER. Third, I asked her for the corperate number and she REFUSED to give it to me. and said "You can try to find it online." Clearly because she knows the way she's acting is unprofessional and she's afraid of losing her job. How ironic, right? Guess what. I found the phone number and there is no real human on the other end. Just an automated voicemail system. The Dollar Tree company clearly does not care about custumer service one bit. I left a message with the automated complaint system. Then called back to try to speak with an actual human. After literally an hour long wait on the phone, the line disconnects and hangs up. For no reason. They clearly are giving people the run around just to waste their time. Complete bullshit. Literally spending 3 dollars at the store has never been so difficult. Avoid this place like the plague. If one of these managers try to give you a hard time, don't take their shit. They are just mad that they will be stuck working at the cheapest store in existence for the rest of their lives. It's a 99 cent store! It is exactly what it reads right above the entrance and it doesn't disappoint. It has a great selection of goods including paper towels, kiddy toys, candy, toothpaste, seasonal goods, etc. Plenty of parking and always friendly staff. What else can you ask for? They will charge you a little extra fee if you want cash back with your credit card transaction, but after saving so much money on everything else, you really don't mind the few extra cents on cash back. After I have found out this place I have been going back ever since! My favorite thing is buying gift related things (wrapping paper, bows, boxes, etc). Now that its Christmas I need them the most! This Dollar Store is wonderful in that it carries a wide variety of named brand products that one can purchase for a dollar. And they are products that are used on a regular basis. the staff is friendly and the checkers always do their best to greet you with a smile. The thing I am not favorable with is the Customer Service in that there always seems to be only one check stand open and the line forms down an aisle. Also I went in there a couple of days ago and there were at least 2 if not more employees stacking shelves and had cardboard boxes stacked up in the way of the aisles blocking them and making it hard and unsafe for the customers to get through. They also had flat cardboard boxes all over the floor. This is a safety hazard. I went down another aisle and there was a metal cart with some hamburger or hot dog buns on it and it was blocking an aisle. It appeared to me that maybe some time management to stock the shelves when the store is not so busy or before the store opens or after it closes would be a good idea. This is my favorite dollar store in the area; the staff is super friendly here and always so polite! The store itself is very clean and has a big selection of seasonal goodies -like right now there's a lot of Halloween items. One thing that does suck is parking; for some reason, when people come to this little shopping area, 8 out of 10 of them park like assholes (sorry but it's true) maybe because the parking slots are small or maybe because they just don't care? I somehow come in here wanting just one specific thing and end up buying all this random crap that I for one reason or other all of the sudden "need." It's awesome! If you ever feel the need to splurge, I guess this is the place to go since it won't put a huge dent in your wallet. This place is so random in ways and has the most bizarre things. I feel like I am on an adventure when I come here and end up going through each aisle to see what type of stuff they have. They ALWAYS have holiday stuff, a card section, and a section for gift wrapping materials. I usually come for those things. They blow up balloons and have a wide variety to choose from. These balloons NEVER deflate. I bought my mom some cute heart shaped balloons for Mother's day and they stayed up for a good month or so. Other than that, they have regular household products, junk food, toys, and a bunch of other random stuff that you will also probably all of the "need" once you look around hehe. Service is good and everyone is always courteous. Honestly, go in for yourself and explore. It's fun and you don't come out broke or feeling bad.
