I went in with such excitement to shop for my son 11th birthday, I told the man at the counter that this was my first time here and I didn't know how to order balloon. He was kind enough to tell me that I just choose the ones I want, tell them when I need them and pay. Seemed absolutely simple enough, which it was. I grabbed a shopping cart and started shopping. The birthday balloons were directly in the front of the shop so it was convenient, it wasn't till I started going down the aisle that I could not stay in the shop any longer. It was stuffy, hot and humid in the shop then I realized they had no ac on, which is absolutely ridiculous in September. Sweat was literally going down my face when I waiting to pay. $100 later for balloons which I struggled with the prices but reminded myself it's for my son's birthday morning. My husband picked up the balloons the next day at 7pm, we set up the decor while my son slept. Birthday morning 6am my son was absolutely surprised and it was successful. What upset me is its only 12pm and the balloons are already deflating, we now have no decor for this evening for cake and gifts. I called the store and explained the situation, I was yelled at that I was told they only last 8 hours. I was absoulety not told this at all, if that was the case I would not have purchased such cheap ass heluim that obviously my photos are proof that they use. He kept being rude and I just hung up. I just supported your independant store and this is how they treat their customers. Oh party city how I wished you where still around , at least those balloons lasted a week. I was really bummed out when Party City closed but then I found this gem. Party Plaza is almost as big as the Party City I used to go to and has everything you could need or want. It has every kind of balloon imaginable. I rented a single helium tank for a day or two and returned it when it was empty. Super convenient to be able to inflate my own balloons and not throw away a metal tank. The gentleman who helped me was very nice. read more

Perfect for some twisting balloons in a hurry. Genuinely all other stores were closed, so I was so glad that they were open until 9pm. They have a wide variety of twisting balloon colors, but for some reason no pack of assorted colors. One employee was nice enough to show me where they were as he saw that I was in a hurry (and I had also phoned a while earlier), and another had quickly rung me up. I went into this store wanting balloons and had to see this poor employee being verbally and emotionally abused by his manager from his face he looked scared and seemed as though the other worker was also. The worker seemed as though he didn't know what he was doing so the manager just yelled and screamed at him for a balloon string saying that he should know what he was doing. I hope that anyone who goes into this place understands the type of atmosphere it is. When even talking to the manager he was so aggressive and was passive aggression as well and just wasn't interested in helping me out and looked pissed off when helping me. I think they have a big selection but the balloons are definitely overpriced. $2 for each latex balloon + $10 for a medium sized number balloon + they over inflated my balloon so it popped as soon as I left the store (literally didn't even get back to my car) they accused me of "hitting something" so they charged me $5 more for a replacement.... I wanted to support small businesses but not at my own expense. Instead of offering to help me the guy accuses me and then answered the phone.. then didn't even charge me, he made me wait in line while he continued on the phone. You can pretty much find anything you need related to any party, for any age, for any person. I bought confetti, balloons, banners, cups, plates, napkins, party favors and decorations all from here. They have a station where you can pick up any deign balloon and have them blown out by one of the workers. They even have a wide selection of piñatas. They have their own parking lot which makes it easier to pick up things and carry it to your car. Their prices are s but higher than the rest but since the location is convenient and their customer service is good it's worth to pay a little extra. read more

I have a love-hate relationship with Party Plaza. I've been here many times for party supplies, particularly for balloons! The store itself is located off Broadway in Glendale. There is a LOT of stuff in the store... I feel like there's so much stuff that they never really do a deep cleaning so it feels pretty dusty/dirty inside and has a weird smell. I mostly buy balloons from here because they have a pretty decent selection. You browse thru the racks for the balloons you like, grab what you want, and then they blow them up for you. I feel like some of their balloons are kind of useless/a rip off. The regular latex ones have a shelf life of 2 seconds. Haha...not really, but they only last like 6-10 hours MAX. I almost always buy balloons the day before I need them (because I buy them for my office and they are not open early enough for me to pick them up before work), so I can never buy the latex ones because they don't last very long at all. The foil balloons, however, last for a LONG time. I've had some stay up for 1-3 months depending on the conditions in my apartment (if it gets really hot and/or they're in the sun), they don't last as long. Make sure you do NOT expose them to a lot of heat because they can pop. Last time I went to Party Plaza and bought balloons, it was 90 degrees outside and I was driving around running errands. I stopped somewhere and left my balloons in my car, and when I came back 10 minutes later, one of the balloons had popped due to the heat! AND IT WAS LIKE A $12 BALLOON THAT I HAD FOR MAYBE 15-20 MINUTES TOTAL. So sad...but maybe that was just my fault. In general, I love the foil balloons but they can add up really quickly. The nicer ones can get over $10 each and before you know it, you've dropped $60 on balloons. Overall, the biggest reason why I go to Party Plaza is the convenience of having a decent selection and being located close to where I live, plus the store is never busy so I never have to wait long for my balloons. Biggest cons are that the latex balloons are basically useless (for me, at least), and in general I feel like their prices are a little high. read more

Over the weekend my husband and I went to pick up our gender reveal balloon (which we paid $50 for). As soon as we picked it up we noticed all of the pink bits that are supposed to be inside of the balloon were stuck to the outside of the balloon!!! The surprise was immediately ruined for us and sure enough when we popped the balloon later that day it was pink inside. We are overjoyed that we will be having a baby girl, but because of the carelessness of the store management and staff, the surprise was ruined for us. 1 year ago I wrote a review, it was also 3 stars. Nothing has changed. Balloons were near floor in 12 hours. the rubber balloons were not tied with ribbons. the ribbons were inserted into the ball node. Nodes were not tight, so they quickly deflated. I've never seen anything like it. but the foil balloons were inflated good. read more

Starting off, I never write bad reviews ever. This place really made me mad for multiple reasons. I went in to grab "Congrats" balloons and the employee who was standing in the balloon blowing area notified me that the only ones they had were the large ones. I said okay but I asked him if it would all fit in my car for one ride and he said they definitely would and he would do it in a way where it would fit. I asked him the price and he said $16.99 for each one. I agreed cuz at that point I had no other choice. While he was already done blowing up the letters C,O, and N the manager approached and started screaming saying that it would not fit in my car. I said "What do you mean? He just told me it would..." and then he said it absolutely wouldn't and that I would have to make two trips which I could not. He said that I would have to pay for the letters that were already blown (mind you he was screaming at me and the price for the "CON" was like $60). I notified him that that was terrible customer service and he kept saying I have to pay for the letters and that it wasn't his fault that I didn't have a van to put the balloons in. At that point I felt forced to have to pay so I told him to blow up the rest and that I would manage to fit it in my car. I stuffed them in my car and when I got to my destination the N balloon had popped. This place makes me so mad and I will never recommend anyone go here. We ordered balloons (36") for my son's first birthday. If you've ever dealt with 36" balloons you know that they're not only difficult to get filled but also very hard to transport. Party Plaza helped us in filling and delivering 17 huge balloons and I'm so glad I decided to go to them. It helped us relieve the anxiety of doing a lot of back and forth for our event and all the balloons were delivered on time and we had absolutely zero issues (none popped). If I could give this place negative stars I would. I rented a monthly helium tank from them and they basically ROBBED ME. I don't usually write reviews so for me to take time out of my busy day to do this...is a lot. I asked for a tank that would supply me with 100 Balloons and after 20 balloons the tank was empty! When I called to ask why this was the person who picked up the phone practically called me a liar. I am one of two people that work for my business and I am here 6 days a week the other day we are closed. He told me someone that works here let all the air out...please. No offer to refund. No offer to refill. Not even and offer to refill half the tank! This is the worst customer service I have experienced in a LONG time. We have three LARGE events in the future at my shop that I was going to supply from here. Not to mention the many friends I have that are party planners and in the film industry. I'll tell you a bit about my experiences here: My first time I came into this store was earlier this year to buy a balloon animal balloon pump. Staff was really helpful in aiding me find the product, and they rang me up right after. My total time spent in the store was less than 5 minutes, which was really convenient for me! 5 Star experience for that time! My second time was when I needed to buy 12 balloons for a baby shower. This experience for me was not as good as the first time, because they spent good time blowing up the balloons. Something that could have taken 5 minutes, lasted them 10 minutes. The balloons were a bit on the pricey side as well, averaging $1.35 each balloon with helium and tinsel tied. 3 Star experience here. My third time was just recently during Halloween where we went to check out some accessories. The accessories out where actually the cheapest priced ones I've found so far! There wasn't a lot of selection for costumes, and was mainly focused on accessories. For the day before Halloween, they had a good amount left over. Staff is dressed in Halloween costumes within the store, and they were very helpful. 4 stars here. read more
