The main Bullpen location is amazing .. This location is terrible! The people that work there have no social skills and don't even greet customers when they walk in. Their TCG inventory is OK. Their sports inventory is stale and never updates. The management team needs to severely upgrade their staff with people who will engage with their customers. Their competitors Burbank across the street will put them out of business soon if this continues. read more

This is a hidden treasure to all card collectors. From Pokémon card, Yugioh, Magic, Dragon Ball Z, Sports cards, MLB, NFL, Champions League, etc. they also have collectible plushies. We initially went to the new store in the corner of Buena Vista and Magnolia and though they had a big selection of cards they do not beat this store. Here Freddie, Damon, and Dustin make the experience unforgettable. When Freddie found out that we were Real Madrid Fans he quickly knew what card to show us. A graded Luka Modric card (my favorite soccer player). This is a must visit for any and all card collectors. read more

There are two people that work here who are just plain rude. I've taken my son here a handful of times and half the time they are buying and half the time they're not. When you call and they're not buying, they'll tell you that they have no money and they're not buying. What kind of customer service answers the phone like that? You could at least be courteous especially when kids are around. I honestly don't know why these people work here who clearly hate their jobs. I will never do business with them again! Go across the street to Burbank Sportscards where they are actually nice to their customers and appreciate them, especially kids! read more

The people there are absolutely rude. They don't acknowledge anything when you walk in and this dude was watching karate kid instead of showing me around the shop and helping me out. A Dan Marino card was worth 2$ and was marked up to 30$ which explains the value at the store. Selection is also not good, not enough cards for each sport. Appreciate this shop for offering a contrast to the big box style of BBSC across the street - but really wish they put prices on stuff. Inevitably you'll ask a price on something, they'll google it, and then offer you a price you can probably beat anywhere. All of the staff is friendly, but you'll only get a fair price if you're lucky enough to deal with Dustin. But honestly it shouldn't be that hard to just stay on top of market rates and keep prices listed/updated. Wish them the best though, I don't want all of the hobby to flock to one shop. read more

This mainly pertains to their Pokemon inventory but they have a mix of fair priced items and items priced way too high for what they are. Honestly seen scalpers with better prices than theirs but business is business. Mainly came in to check them out and was doing an honesty test (looking for a good shop for myself) to see what they would offer me for my XandY venusaur promo card ranging around 80$ and my 151 charizard witch is the top pull for the set ranging around 250$ or less msrp. They said they buy at 75% which is standard and then pulls out their phone saying they go by TCG market price. Wasn't happy to hear them say it's going for 150$ which is the Japanese 151 charizard price. I said the price doesn't seem right and they said that's market. I said maybe another time and bought some cards and a jap 25th anniversary booster box. Their booster box prices: Surging sparks 300$ (around 250$ msrp) Paldea evolved 200$ (around 180$ msrp) Terastal festival etb, (don't even bother) 8$ for one pack twilight masquerade‼ and 180$+ for a stellar crown booster box (around 150$ msrp) ..... I don't blame them in this current market but if you can get better prices from scalpers on the third party market there's something wrong here. They have to either stop buying from scalpers or find a better vendor. The cards I took out are in the photos. Also a shop called Hero's in northridge fashion center has better prices for packs and booster boxes than here. Currently that's my go to. Plus they're honest people read more

Love this store. For me it's local and always has fair pricing. Always good vibes when I go in. Everybody seems to know everybody. Sometimes when I stop in on the weekend it's like a hang out spot. The staff seems to know everybody by name. Guys girls and kids all welcome. Service has always been great. There's usually only 2 to 3 people working so when it's busy sometimes there might be little wait but it's worth it knowing they're gonna totally take care of me. Horrible experience. Walked in to a women and man sitting down no one got up. Women barely said hello. Me and my boyfriend needed to drop off cards for PSA and there is literally a sign that says PSA drops offs in the front. When we told them we needed to drop off they both looked so confused and didn't even know what we were talking about said they had a ipad we can sign on to make a drop off and pay for shipment. We told them we ready made a PSA submission with QR codes and just needed to drop off they had no idea what we were talking about or didn't care to help in anyway. Today I had in mind to go to a card shop to get a box storage for some cards. On the way to Portos I happened to see Bullpen Burbank. I automatically how convenient this was and thought it would be nice to check out. After Portos I stepped inside and greeted the person working. Asked them if they had any 5k card boxes and he said they were sold out. Checking out the store I was interested in some information on the newest Pokemon TCG set that will be coming out. The response that I received was "when it comes out". I wanted a little more information so I asked when is the release date and they didn't know. Sad reality was I knew the information but just seeing if the vibe check was there. I didn't get any so I stopped talking to the dude. I noticed their Pokemon cards were pretty expensive. Not because they had hard to find items, but their prices were marked up from MSRP. Anyways, they didn't have what I was looking for, I didn't get the information I needed and the place is pretty expensive for items you can get locally or online. I visited this weekend to pick up some Pokemon cards for my kiddo, and to browse their selection (I collect rookie cards, and know my way around a card shop). I am flabbergasted by the absence of customer service in this shop. We weren't greeted or engaged with at all. Okay. The people behind the counter were not only unfriendly, but acted visibly annoyed when I asked to buy a few packs from behind the counter. While being rung up, while still being basically ignored, I was chastised for paying cash and not letting them know upfront (they don't charge tax on cash sales). If you would have actually engaged with me maybe I could have told you! They had a poor selection of slabbed cards, and not much of interest on display. There are so many great shops in LA, and Bullpen won't see another dollar of my money. I recommend The Hobbyist, Valley Sports Cards, and Cards and Coffee, where they provide top notch service and legit selections of cards. read more
