This was my first visit to the store, and my initial impression was positive. The shop was well organized, and while browsing I found several items that interested me. One of the employees was helpful enough to place the cards I selected at the front while I continued looking around, which I appreciated. From what I observed, pricing varied depending on the item. Some cards were fairly priced, some below market, and others above market value. One particular vintage moderately played card was listed at $16.77, while recent comparable sales on TCGPlayer appeared to average closer to the $13-15 range. Since I was purchasing multiple items and understood that older vintage cards may not move as quickly as modern inventory, I politely asked if they would consider a flat $15 price on the card. Unfortunately, the interaction that followed left a negative impression. The owner (or manager) seemed unwilling to negotiate, with his first words being "oh, so you want a break." Which came across as unnecessarily hostile over what amounted to a relatively small discount request. I completely understand that local stores have operating costs and are free to price inventory however they choose, but I felt the response lacked professionalism and customer courtesy. Because of that interaction, I decided not to complete my purchase and instead visited CoreTCG in Pasadena afterward, where I had a much more positive experience. The staff there were knowledgeable, professional, and welcoming, and I ultimately spent far more than I originally planned. I genuinely wish this store success, but I hope future customer interactions are handled with a bit more professionalism and openness. read more

You don't just walk out with cards here.... you walk out feeling like you made a new friend. Tucked away in NELA, this legit sports card shop surprised me big time. They've got plenty of 2 mil card sleeves (cheaper than Amazon) and a ton of sports card collections, but the real standout was the interaction. Harry seemed to know exactly what I was going to ask before I even said it, and he had the answer ready. What a lovely experience! The folks here were super kind and very warm. I came here for the first time this afternoon and will definitely be back. They had a good selection of premium Pokemon cards up front, as well as a ton of cards in their backstock (which was easily searchable with an intuitive inventory system they have for customers to use on their computers!). So much easier to find cards I'm looking for than a typical shop. I also saw the folks working there interact with some curious kids and were super nice and patient with them, which is always great to see. My girlfriend and I came here to look into collecting and playing Lorcana cards. We were a bit intimidated because cause there was a large collection of cards and didn't know where to begin but Art was very friendly and knowledgeable and We ended up buying a couple trove boxes and a booster box. Staff is always friendly but ripping 9 packs of modern Pokémon with zero hits (and it happening multiple times) isn't just a joke it's a bit suspicious. Never had worse luck with a TCG store in my life. Do with that what you will. In response to the owner... I do buy boxes just not from your store because your prices are insane. I was trying to avoid direct accusations because I don't have proof but there is no way my luck is so bad that it breaks statistical probabilities. I genuinely believe y'all search and weigh what you can and the packs on display are your leftovers which you charge 2x on so you don't lose money digging through boxes you deem worth it (like a box with a potentially $500-$1000 card). My friend's son has been wanting to go there to pick up some things for his Pokemon collection. We were greeted by Art, one of the owners. Really nice guy. Helpful, but not at all pushy. I was impressed with how patient Art was with my friend's 9-year-old son. He answered all his questions in a very friendly manner. Art even had an opportunity to make a little bit bigger sale, but told the young man that the "deluxe" version of what he was buying wasn't much different than the regular version...expect for the price. How cool is that! Looks like they have about every kind of card you can imagine. They also have a computer system you can use to look up the price of the cards. They make it really easy for you. I saw someone coming in to sell their son's card collection. I guess they also buy cards and collections too. Parking is on the street, but there's plenty of it. I was there on a Saturday afternoon and had no trouble at all finding a free parking spot on the street. I'm not a card collector or a gamer, but if I knew someone who was, I wouldn't hesitate to tell them about this place. Didn't know you couldn't return or refund cards...I find it strange that you can not refund or return cards that you would change your mind to depending on what you need it for. Maybe there was a policy stating there was one but didn't find it on their site or anything I understand and DO NOT expect them to have almost to completely no dents or whatever for near mints but when you're looking to build your MTG collection, the last thing you want is a fold or something else on the card...NO MATTER the price... This is by far my favorite card store!!! The owners of the store are extremely friendly and helpful. They have an excellent system for their single cards that they sell. All of their cards are on their website, and they have two computers set up so that you can make your order. They print it out and pull the cards for you and it's as easy as that. You can take your time and search for what you like, they have so much more stuff than what is in the glass case. I am into Magic the Gathering and they have ever set that is available and really the only place that has this many singles or singles period in the area. I always come here to get new boosters or pre release packs. Their prices on boosters are way lower than a lot of places, and they always do deals like 3 for 10$ mix and match current sets. That's an amazing deal. Again their customer service is a huge reason I keep returning to this place. I'm getting back into gaming and they are extremely nice and educate me in a polite way(especially since I have a ton of questions). I've recently picked up collecting cards after a friend of mine re-introduced the hobby to me not too long ago. Not really knowing much about where to start, I went and visited Games & Cards and they pretty much set me on the right course to begin. Ever since then I've been a regular customer. Their selection of cards is fantastic! They have all the sports cards you can ask for and at a reasonable price. They also sell individual cards. They have three computers in their store and you can set out to purchase individuals to collect a base set (which is what I like to do) or if you have a personal collection of a particular player or team, you can search for them and buy it. Easy does it. They also sell all types of protective sleeves, cases and whatnot to protect your more valuable cards. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is into the hobby. The guys who run this shop know what they're talking about and are super cool. Give them a try sometime. You won't be disappointed. read more

This is my single favorite place in Los Angeles for Magic card singles. You go online and make a cart for in store pickup. Their stock is extensive and all represented in their digital inventory. In the store there's a few computers where shoppers can create orders. Sometimes I pay $0.10 more for a common here and there, but the ability to be able to physically go to the place and pick it up same day is great. Really great business. I placed an order for pickup via the website on a vacation on July 4th, and got a call on Saturday to confirm the pickup before I even called them to see if it was ready! They even wanted to make sure that I had selected pickup correctly since I had an out-of-state address. Store is clean, people were friendly enough and I got all the cards I needed. Really great selection, very fair pricing. I walked in and my order was ready to go without a problem. My only gripe was probably the website, I was able to order everything fine but the cart doesn't "save" your selection to your account between sessions, so I had to order everything in one go rather than add things as I thought of them. Absolutely brilliant place. A great collection of cards and collectibles including Yugioh, MTG, Pokemon and Magic. I went in for yugioh cards, and they had a directory for single cards, as well as a bunch of rares on display in a cabinet. This, in addition to a wide choice of boxes and booster packs.
