It's one of the larger comic bookstores in the San Fernando Valley. You can sometimes find a 2-3 month old raw book still at cover price on the stands. You can tell this shop is run by people who truly care about comics and their clients. Highly recommend for both casual readers and serious collectors. The prices are very reasonable.

This is a really middle of the road shop for a couple reasons. To begin with positives, the…read moreselection of back issues is great. They have some stuff that other shops in the valley don't even know about. The selection of new books is great, too. They are well organized, probably the best organization i've seen in a long time at a comic shop. The negatives: prices are way too high for what are basically reader copies, and the presence of the cats in the shop negates the concept of these being "pet free books". Many of the back issues are clearly a bed for the cats, complete with destroyed bags and boards, where the very cute cats have shredded them. Despite this shop having a good stock, the asking prices on every back issue are 2-3$ higher than what I believe is fair. In addition to that, the employees are not terribly welcoming. The gentleman running the counter was downright dismissive, I didn't even get a hello when I walked in the door and made eye contact. I didn't get a single word as I browsed the stacks for at least twenty minutes. The lady working here had a conversation with my wife about the cats, and even talked to my wife about her clothes, but neither employee engaged with me whatsoever. It felt like they thought i was there to cause trouble, even when making a purchase. In addition, this shop is guilty of one of my biggest pet peeves on the planet: not selling displayed merchandise. On the front counter, two small statues were displayed, but when I asked if they were for sale, I was told they still needed to be researched. Man, do it right now, i'm holding the money in my hand for them. In a store with no other customers, and nothing pressing happening, why would you not take two minutes to check the item price on ebay, or even better yet, decide for yourself what seems like a fair price instead of turning away a paying customer? If the item isn't for sale, take it off the sales floor. Stock is excellent, organization is excellent, prices are not good, and customer service is decidedly bad. It feels like the male employee is either suspicious of everything, or gatekeeping the hobby for some reason. I did not feel welcome here.

The staff are super helpful and take time to chat with you and give solid recommendations. Been to other stores that feel very judgey and just want you out ASAP. Collector's Paradise is the complete opposite. Layout is nice and spacious giving room to browse. The sections by author took me a while to get used to. Good selection and I love that authors randomly drop in and sign copies (and the store sells them at face value).

The tall guy working today made my day by letting me go through a binder of 151 unfinished master set to help complete mine it literally had everything I needed ! I also picked up some full art cards. I highly recommend checking this place out. Sealed Pokemon product is a bit high(but all the card shops are honestly ) but all the single cards are priced fair from tcg price guide. They have awesome vintage toys, rare finds and modern collectibles as well. It's fun to walk around and see what they have.

My boyfriend, who is an esteemed Hollywood 3D animation artist with a long list of credits to his name (so proud of him!); is an artist inside and out and we recently followed our curiosity into House of Secrets: comic book/graphic novel/collectibles shop in Burbank. House of Secrets is a 35+ year old local business originally holding down the fort in La Canada-Flintridge before its current real estate at the corner of Olive and Lamer not far from the Warner Bros Studio lot. From the exterior, House of Secrets looks like a regular ole' storefront but it lives up to its moniker because its doors truly open to an immersive art-filled comic book store that is unlike many I have seen (not that I have been to THAT many). House of Secrets has the vibes akin to the coolest record store you can imagine with a main room filled with bins and shelves of comic books, graphic novels and other art books from rare and back copies to modern-day releases all beautifully organized and tidy making any OCD-afflicted individual (me) overjoyed. House of Secrets is a world of color and print and even supplements the actual merchandise stock with posters on the ceiling and laminated into the floor tiles. Every inch of House of Secrets is a work of art. But if that isn't enough, House of Secrets features side rooms giving it an art gallery vibe with even more comics/books plus art from local artists for sale. Frankly, House of Secrets is 'cool' even for someone like me who isn't a comic book nerd and not a part of the world of graphic novels due to it being an art paradise. House of Secrets is an experience that is interesting to check out simply for the ambiance. The customer service at House of Secrets is also top-tier as my boyfriend who knows a little more about the merch sold at the shop than I do; asked for a particular piece and the gentleman working (I am assuming one of the owners) immediately had answers and knew what he was talking about which was also reflected when overhearing him answer other customer's questions.
