I came across this random game store while driving through LA and needed some deck sleeves. Walking in definitely gives you a sense of nostalgia. The store seems to be the main TCG/comics store in the area with some play space for visitors. There was a good amount of Dragon Shield deck sleeves to choose from, as well as Pokemon cards. The staff were pretty nice and attentive. As the name implies, they're mostly focused on comics, but also have some figures and retro-gaming goods. The prices were in line with other hobby stores, though there aren't really many nearby. The complex looks very industrial, so you may be caught by surprised by it's location. At least the area isn't too busy or crowded. Overall, it was a fun experience to stop by and check out for any TCG or comic book lover. read more

The posting for the event did not state first come first served. People took time off their families and work to make the event at a reasonable time. We absolutely love coming in here. Our first stop (and always favorite) is the VHS room. Top tier fun. The guy that works in that room is incredibly nice, and makes us always feel really welcomed. They have a really fun pin selection as well. It's a really fun little spot to go for some nostalgic fun! And of course the rest of the place is amazing! Super nice people. Great merchandise. I made my family and some friends go here on my Birthday this year. I wasn't expecting much but I still like to visit comic shops when out and about. The shop was clean and very well organized. The customer service was very nice and pleasant. They had lots of toys and comics. They also have clean restrooms just in case you lose track of time and need to relieve yourself like I had to. If I had to knock them for something it would be the selection of back issues. I would have preferred more of a selection but who am I to tell these nice gentleman how to run their business. We ended spending a good amount of money but we just couldn't pass up on those deals. I will def travel an hour to visit them and the nearby Sizzlers again. read more

Today I got a chance to go check out We Can Be Heroes Comics! And I have to say that it was very pleased with the wide selection Of Comics they have and not only in their bins but on the wall also! What I also really enjoyed was being able to find all the latest new books that have released as they set it on a table upfront for easy selection and choosing. They are vintage toys and Funko pops selection also stands out to me which I spend a couple extra minutes looking through the glass shelves. What I also thought was pretty cool. Was that other little store in the back that sold VHS vintage tapes! So I definitely wanna give a shout out to video heroes inside also. Made me feel like I stepped into a time machine. The service in the store was really good. Also, every time I walked by a employee they asked me if I need help or if I was looking for anything so service would be an A+ for me. I highly recommend if you're in the area to check them out. I know myself I will be back for sure. Only been here for the comics so can't comment on anything else. New books laid out on a table and easy to access, and books from previous weeks on the wall. Some solid back issues to find. It's a bit difficult to find some issues from a few months back, I'm not sure how they are organizing those books. Back issues seem well priced enough. Gonna keep.coming back. read more

This is definitely One of my favorite comic shops in the valley. The people that work there are always very nice and helpful. You can usually find almost whatever comic you're looking for for a fair price. Even if you're looking for things outside of comics they have stuff as well. Since we live over an hour away I've only been to this store once (it was for an event) and overall liked it. If I was reviewing it based on that event alone, I'd give it 4-5 stars. But this weekend I went to this store's booth at comic-con. They had a signing with Tom Waltz and I lined up about 20ish minutes before the start of the event. When I got there, I asked where the line was. Turns out I was first (woohoo)! I then asked if there was a signature fee, a nice guy said he'd find out. A few minutes passed by and still no answer, no problem. Eventually, another guy shows up and starts setting stuff up for the signing. It looks like he's part of Tom's team? I asked him if he knew if there was a signature fee, he said he'd let me know in a bit. Eventually he does and says $10. I thanked him for letting me know and started walking away. He kindly asked where I was going, and I told him I'm glad he let me know because I was just waiting for one book, and it's not one that's worth paying for so thanks anyway. He looks at the book (it's The A-team) and likely knows it's pretty worthless so he says "if that's all you have don't worry about it". Whoa! That was awesome! I did not expect that and thought that was a cool gesture. The signing starts. I let a few guys go in front of me since I had stepped away when I thought I was leaving. When I get up there this big dude tells me it's $10. I explained what happened & he just repeats the price. The other guy (who i'm assuming was on Tom's team) that said I could just get it signed makes eye contact with me when he hears this so I said to the big guy that he said I could get the signature since this was all I have. He turns around to look at him, then looks at me and the big guy smugly says "this is my event". Fair enough, in disappointment I look at the guy who was trying to be nice to me and said "thanks for trying to be cool man" and walked away. It turns out the "big guy" is the owner/manager of We Can Be Heroes. Well done sir You showed your character in an event many of us countdown to attending. This wasn't about the comic experience or the fan service for you, it was clearly about the bottom-line. To the other guys on your team who were trying to be nice, rock on! Keep doing you, and hopefully you don't get in trouble with your boss for trying to be friendly to people! read more

Then I went to next door, this employee named Danny who is awesome, very patient and really helpful. He introduced me of Pokémon cards and I was happy to effort Pokémon packs and booster box. Reza and Julio own/run this super cool location. so many cool comics :new and vintage. a lot of great key issues adorn the walls. i like how many of the key comics actually have little labels to let you know that it was a first appearance of a particular character. Reza and Julio are professional but super friendly and like talking about comics, collectibles, and just about anything interesting. they let me know that if i set up for weekly pull/subscription, that i can get a 20% discount, so that is awesome. a great place to visit and find all sorts of comics and collectibles. you should make this your destination when you need comics or collectibles in Chatsworth. read more

This place has great prices and great people working there and they have a lot of different variety of comic books plus there's a new game room coming in which I'm excited about and they have a bunch of different games already set up but you can have fun on. This place is right down the street for me in Chatsworth so I'm there all the time at least a couple times a week. I was in the area and decided to stop into this shop. It looked like they were having an autograph signing later in the day since they were prepping the store. The lot is pretty small so if they have any events it's probably going to be a pain to find parking. The store is neat, clean, and organized. They had a wide selection of merchandise in the store. If you're looking for dollar books or non-key books to fill your runs then this may be an option. The selection of books is pretty sparse though. I went though their bins to look for minor key issues and couldn't find any. They were just regular run books that almost every other shop has. The books they had in their cases weren't very exciting either. If you're a serious collector then I'd pass on this shop, but casual collectors will probably enjoy it more. read more

My 12-year-old son Sammy has developed an affinity for comic books. The first day we walked into We Can Be Heroes Comics he was welcomed by Aiden who helped Sammy find everything he was looking for. The next time we visited the store Julio was exceptionally helpful as well. The third time we walked in, Julio immediately said hi to Sammy and grabbed an out-of-print comic book that Sammy was looking for the previous week. Julio had set it aside specifically for my son. Needless to say the people who run this store are incredible, friendly, and helpful. It feels like the comic book store version of the TV sitcom Cheers every time we walk in.
